Civil actions in Thailand do not result in massive judgements and also usually do nto result in any compensation for "pain and suffering". Only actual financial losses reimbursed. Even if someone died, the payout is limited to what amount of support the persons suing might have otherwise expected to get from the deceased. Nothing for the emotional pain of the loss. Just not how it is here. And lawyers here do not usually work on contingency basis. As I gather OP is retired, and his medical costs were paid, from Thai civil court point of view he is nto entitled to anything more as no lost wages or paid medical bills. Anyhow what he wants is for the guy to go to jail, which a civil suit cannot accomplish and which indeed cannot be accomplished, period, except by pressure (and payment) from a very "influential" individual.

As you did not die or suffer permanent disability, and the medical costs have been paid, the police likely feel that the matter is settled. Odds of them prosecuting in a case that did not result in death or permanent disability are very, very slim. Just not how things work in Thailand. Even when death or lifelong disability results, police will often try to negotiate a financial settlement between the parties rather than refer for prosecution. Even if this were in the West, you can't prove his intention. He could (and likely would) claim he hit you unintentionally. Let it drop is my advice. If you want you an visit police and ask about status of the case, they will likely be surprised since they think it is all resolved. And will think that, if not satisfied, it must be that you want more money. which you have little chance of getting and which would still mean no prosecution. As for others' recommendation of getting a lawyer, only going to cost you money IMO with little or nothing to gain.

This. Possibly they feel that since his insurance paid your costs, the matter is resolved. Or possibly they aren't acting because you have nto paid them to/he paid them not to (or both) Have you inquired at police station?

No linkage between GERD and stomach cancer. There is, however, a definite link between stomach cancer and h. pylori infection (usual cause of gastritis -- gastritis, not reflux. People seem to often confuse these 2 different things). Constant exposure of the esophagus to gastric secretions (as in severe, untreated GERD) is a risk factor for esophageal cancer. Risk factor not automatic cause. The majority of people with frequent reflux do not develop esophageal cancer. There are atypical changes to the esophageal lining that occur before malignancy and these can be seen on endoscopy. Occcasional reflux, on the other hand, is pretty universal and not a risk factor. There are other, stronger, risk factors of esophageal cancer, most notably smoking and alcohol (the 2 in combination have a synergistic effect).

Can any UKers advise if revolut card is widely accepted in UK? I visit there pretty much yearly now and will soon have an extended visit. I find almost no place accepts cash anymore and while i have US credit cards, there is the currency conversion factor to consider so thinking of getting Revolut card to use in UK. ?? Also how does one add money, can it be through a direct bank transfer or do I have to use a credit card? I am nto interested in doing fund transfers so that is nto a factor. Just looking for efficient way to pay for things while in the UK.

The problem is you may not know it is "brioken" until it is too late to fix. In the case of colon cancer it is the difference between a simple outpatient procedure vs major surgery that may entail a colostomy...and, of course, possible death. Pre-cancerous polyps are asymptomatic. So for that matter are early cancers. Hence the recommendation to screen.

Bad Dry Cough , Tried Everything, 19 Baht Fixed It
Sheryl replied to balo's topic in Health and Medicine
tincture of opium (trace amounts but that is all one needs to suppress cough) Important to note that it is a cough suppressant which is fine for dry coughs but not so advisable for productive coughs as it is important to bring up the phlegm. -

Drugs from a private hospital pharmacy always cost much more than at pharmacies, this is very well known and can be assumed. The only thing you need to ask is of the doctor: name, dose of medication . Then decline meds at the cashier. Exception only for controlled drugs (narcotics, tranquillizers, steroids etc). -

Crossy I would love some, and happy to cover the postage. Since Shoppee and Lazada are now both out of stock. I'll PM you my mailing address. A pox on HomePro for ceasing to stock these and also for stocking cheap LED brands. !!!!!! They also do not stock the white attachment wires for the LEDs. And where I am, have an unusually aggressive saleslady stalking the aisle with the bulbs, trying to persuade people to buy the trashy Chinese LEDS (no doubt told to do so as they must have a surplus as no one is going to buy those &*^%$ things twice).

No. Can do anytime and no need to fast. Get both total and free testosterone. Some eould advise additional tests (estrogen, thyroid) with it. Best to have done at a place or with a doctor specializing in this In Pattaya can sugfest https://www.maximumclinic.com/male-hormone-replacement-therapy/low-testosterone/ OR https://dr-olivier-clinic.com/testosterone-andropause/

Hopefully it is just combination of cheap LEDs and unstable current/voltage drops. Which might be worse now due to the extreme heat. I have to wait for delivery of name brand ones, locally only junk available. Other option would be to go back to old style fluorescents. Problem there is I can't find the fittings (ballast, wires). Used to be possible to buy a set including bulb, ballast etc but can't find anymore.

Dealing with Dental Anxiety, non sedation Denistry?
Sheryl replied to Rhys's topic in Health and Medicine
CBT would work (if you worked at it) but would take a lot of time. It is meant more for anxiety disorders in general not to get someone through a specific one-time procedure. For that, the recommendation to see psych and get a cript for a tranquilizer seems reasonable and certainly less expensive (and safer) than trying to get this done under IV sedation. -
2 caps seems to be doing it, glow-wise. Possible he had installed the 1 cap wrong because when I saw him putting on the 2, he had first twined it and the fixture wires together whereas I think supposed to insert them separately (into same slot, but not twined/spliced) or does it matter?? As for the light no longer turning in, verified that the bulb was shot (again). New bulb, working for now. Any idea what would account for bulb going out after cap insertion|?

1. In the current climate 25 C may just not be enough (especially if machine is old/not working well). I'm needing much lower setting lately. 2. Having a/c on should already be reducing humidity. 3. No reason not to try melatonin. You can find someone online saying just about anything. 4. Do you have an indoor thermometer so that you can check the functioning of your a/c? Is the filter clean? Has it been serviced recently? 5. Magnesium supplementation guidelines are maximum dose 400 mg for adult males. So yes, you can double the dose though I doubt it will help. 6. Have you had your testosterone level checked recently? Hot flashes can be a sign of low T. Lastly, a check-up with your cardiologist would be wise, just in case this is secondary to changes in cardiac output or an arrythmia. If heart and testosterone check out OK, might consider a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea.

Could they be dud caps? (6 baht apiece have to wonder....)

Applied it to 3 lights. All 3 confimred to be wired on the neutral (I suspect all lights in the house are but haven't checked all). 1 (bedroom) which had the faintest glow to begin with, seems OK now. But cannot be totally sure as always the glow is most noticeable in the very middle of the night/wee hours (e.g. 3-5 AM), I would have to wake up then to be sure. 1 with severe glow (kitchen) , still glows. 1 with medium glow, glow has stopped but it no longer turns on at all. (This bulb was just replaced, it is in the bathroom where the prior bulb flickered). In both of these 2 the capacitor was placed on the fixture side rather than the incoming power side, could that be the issue?

Yes typo. LES.
