To quote Mick..."You can't always get what you want" comes to mind.

Hey TAT!!!
I am actually smiling right now. In fact, I am rolling on the floor trying desperately to not pee in my pants from laughter.
Which Thai smile are you talking about? The one given while being scammed or the one when they know the foreigner doesn't understand that they are being ridiculed or the one that the police uses when it's time to issue a bogus traffic ticket or the one that......

So I hope she'll be going to prison. If you wanna kick someone in the head, try the husband. He was the one doing the dirty.
And, of course, the husband gets away with it as the 2 women refuses to dump his sad *ss. Or, at least 1 of them won't. But I think the worst part is that nobody dares to try to stop this, just stands there and watch or looks away. Pitiful behavior by so-called adults.

5 hours? Really? I mean, really???
Most Thais that I know can't even sit still for 2 hours in front of the local monks while blessing a new home... Let alone stop playing on their phone as if Facebook updates are way more important then any driving video. Especially if the video does not contain car chases, guns and crashes.
Ok -- end of sarcasms for the day --

I was in Pattaya beachroad 2 weeks ago and tried to cross the road at the stoplights. We waited and waited but the thing never became green, it stayed red for ever.
So it's still turned on mate.
So we crossed the road over the zebra with a red stoplight, what else could we do?
Also very annoying is that every taxi and bahtbus horned to us, like if we didn't see them.
The one near my home on Pattaya Tai (BigC Sukhumvit) is not working and the stripes on the road are already fading away. LOL

I take full advantage of my military discount.
There are resident vs. non-resident fishing and hunting licenses, resident vs. non-resident theme park (Disney/Great Flags/Dorney Park/Sesame Place) pricing schedules, teachers discounts, first responders discounts, police discounts...
I see no difference at all...
Sorry, but there is a bigggggg difference there.
You are talking about discounts and we are talking about price increase. If a park charged entrance fee of 100฿ to everyone (no matter their nationality) but gave a discount to the locals, no one (thai and foreigners alike) would be crying foul. I am not against giving discounts to local people but against increasing prices based on race and/or status.
BTW; on a different note - China has extremely strict laws concerning double prices. Same for Singapore and Japan. So it cannot be said that it is an asian thing.

Anyone who says that foreigner should pay more since they have more money is basically saying that it is ok to scam people.
Since when is it ever ok to scam people? Be it 10 baht or 100 baht or 1000baht... a scam is a scam.
Better to walk away and give your business to honest people.

Expats or tourists...
Exactly!
The title should read - This is how thai students think foreign visitors see thailand - and not expats as they view it completely differently after the rose tinted glasses falls off their noses.

Pattaya tried zebra crossing for a while but it didn't work. They turned off the electricity to sign posts after 3 month. Too many pedestrian getting hit and to many farang cars getting rear ended by thai drivers since only the farang stopped their vehicles at zebra crossing, as the law state you should.
Even normal intersections in BKK are perilous, nevermind the zebra crossings.

Good for him to be honest about it. Bravo.
Responding to the viral letter, department director Arthit Boonyasophat maintained that the bureaucracy offers job progresses to those who are qualified for it, and bureaucrats can move up their ranks by taking relevant examinations. - pulled from the article
At least this bureaucrat did not succumb to the usual alternative means of job progression. ie; looking the other way, making sizable contribution, cheating on exams, etc. ad nauseum.

In other related news...
'gold diggers' on Soi Buakhao, Pattaya, continue to ply their trade after authorities did a routine inspection to verify their age and residency status.
Moving on...

Impossible to achieve...that would mean getting rid of all politicians, mini-van/bus drivers and corrupt cops.
Couldn't help myself. The post title was just begging for it.

... Why won't the cops do anything - I don't understand", she added.
Because Thailand is male oriented and you have no rights, yet. Why is it that a rapist gets a 1 year sentence (out in 6 months) but a drug dealer gets 5 to 10 years. While we are at it, why is there no penalty for stalking a women...

Hi what app do you use to get thai channels please
It's free IPTV with 3BB after being a subscriber for 1 year.

Playing devils advocate here...
Maybe the Sanook articles was written to warn Thai people to not depend on foreigners as a source of income?
But that would be silly as they never listen anyways.

In the statement, TrueVisions stopped short of saying it would not attend a public hearing on the issue to be held by the subcommittee on Tuesday.
TrueVisions said it was willing to explain the cancellation of HBO channels to the subcommittee on the basis that the explanation must be done only in the presence of the panel members and TrueVisions’ representatives.
This just proves how much they really care about their subscribers... Never trusted their offer and laughed at their prices. Been with 3BB for 1 year now and I have all the Thai channels for free streaming through my android TV box as well as so many foreign channels for the a much more affordable price.

the GPS technology has already been proved to efficiently prevent accidents in buses
Good job. It went from 'horrifying' to today's simple 'horrible'. I guess, in a way, he can pat himself on the back for trying.

TIT - Typical In Thailand. Why are people surprised by this? Moving on...

Last year, this year, next year, the year after....
It's the same as the travel time of the Pattaya/Hua Hin ferry. Thai standard unit of time vs. Western standard unit of time.

The Department of Land Transport has already been ordered to make sure all transport vans are equipped with the GPS device
What the hell will a GPS tracker do anyways?
Is it going to bitch slap the driver awake if he falls asleep?
Is it going to monitor his blood to see if there is any drugs in the drivers system?
Is it going to warn the driver that his tires are almost bald and driving in the rain may endanger himself, his passengers and everybody else that he crashes into?
Is it going to take control of the vehicle and miraculously save everybody?
Putting a GPS tracker is about as useless in saving lives as putting GPS trackers on all tourists who travel in the country.
Pure 100% un-adulterareted bovine psychology.

The Ministry of Transport will allow tourists to ride a ferry boat between Pattaya and Hua Hin for free ...
Don't they mean 'guinea pigs' or 'test subjects' instead... at least until all the kinks are worked out.
Video: Why dash cam evidence can help get to the truth
in Pattaya News

That's what I call pretty damning evidence against the BMW driver. The dashcam shows the speed of 109km/h and the BMW zooms past it.
Another case of 'I am richer then you!' syndrome.
