Fan not working correct
It does sound like the motor has been defective from day one. Fan motors (and other bits) for various Hatari fans are available on Lazada, the most complex part of the repair will be finding the exactly correct one.

I now have three phase electricity at my villa. Stage two, 60 KW tied solar system needed
For off-grid anything goes, PEA don't care coz you're not connected to their grid. But then you are going to need a considerable amount of energy storage (batteries) even if you only mine during the day (when the sun goes behind a cloud).

How about a solar car port on a budget?

A system that size is way outside what is DIY-able and if grid-tie will definitely need industrial-strength permitting. 60kW is going to be about 140 x 450W panels.

Get it in writing, particularly if your contractor is moonlighting. Don't forget, in order to authorise a grid-tie system you need to use approved equipment and an approved installer.

But to what exactly??

Point of order. Please do not confuse kW (kilowatts) which is a measure of power with kWh (kilowatt-hours) which is a measurement of energy. A 300W (0.3kW) panel will generate about 1kWh per day on average in Thailand. Did PEA authorise a 60kW or a 60kWh system? And, importantly, did you get that in writing?

Picking some brains
Could you make alternative mechanical arrangements but still using micro-switches?
-
Picking some brains
@CallumWK these switches are sooo cheap, particularly if you just buy the actual switch element itself, that it really isn't worth your time messing about.
-
Picking some brains
To be honest with the level of knowledge they're showing, by far the best course of action for our OP would be to continue his replacement of like for like.

Picking some brains
Unless it's a hall-effect switch, in which case AC will kill it.

Picking some brains
What happens if you measure a 9V battery with the meter set to "AC". Some (mainly cheap) meters will measure "something" if set incorrectly, I suspect your 5V DC is actually what you have.

Electrical wall outlets and switches. Which brand and model is good
Go for one of the known brands, Panasonic, Schneider/Square-D etc. and you should be good to go. We bought everything Panasonic initially, but over the years Haco and Chang have crept into the mix mainly due to the configuration we needed being in-stock. By the way, a cooktop/hob should have a dedicated circuit unless it's just for the igniter on a gas one.
