  1. Of course this is an EV-centric website quoting the vehicle manufacturer, but :- https://insideevs.com/news/584722/tesla-car-fires-statistic-2021/
  2. Except that:- https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-bus-fire-idUSL2N2WN1L4 EVs do catch fire and make the news, diesel / NGV buses go pretty well too. Many EV manufacturers are moving from Li-ion to LiFePO4 batteries which, whilst less power dense, have less tendency to go whoosh!
  3. Post title is the headline taken from the linked article. Not my opinion. Sorry for the confusion.
  4. Never hit a bird, but I did get a rather angry bee between my WWII flying goggles and my open face lid (would have been in the late 70s). That was an, er, interesting experience.
  5. Another month breaking the 1MWh barrier, 1,048.9 kWh from solar, 108kWh from PEA.
  6. Where was he spotted?
  7. I doubt anyone in the the known universe thinks that this incident was funny ????
  8. And from a country that really is sometimes a bad joke ????
  9. Yeah, the biggest vehicle that uses our drive is the truck delivering the rocks ???? EDIT It's a pickup with a tipper body.
  10. Yeah, the smaller stuff washes through and forms a very dense layer which is almost like concrete. It does need to be driven on to compact properly.
  11. Forum member Naam (who sadly no longer posts due to ill health) used the A/C in his pool room to heat the water via a custom made heat exchanger, nice cool air, nice warm water.
  12. Here we go "หินคลุก" H̄in khluk - Line Translate says it's "Rock and Roll"
  13. Cluck??
  14. Yeah, or you put a fair amount down over the years. Ours is pretty stable now.
  15. Checked with Madam, she calls it "hin cuck".
  16. The particle size is way too variable to be generically called "gravel", it varies from 1/2" or so right down to sand sized. I think it's actually what falls through the mill used to crush the aggregate for concrete (crusher dust?). I have no idea what Madam orders it as, I just tell her "rocks for the drive" or "rocks for concrete" if we are mixing concrete and the relevant stuff arrives about 30 minutes later. It does compact very nicely when driven on and a bit of rain helps it along.
  17. Yeah, the Facebore page may be more useful it's had some "fairly" recent posts, a message may lead to a supplier who can provide the relatively small amounts we would be looking at.
  18. Is it actually available here?? Others building "rustic" drives could benefit from using the stuff.
  19. Yeah, it should have had geotextile when it was first constructed by the builder (I doubt he ever intended it to be permanent). It actually does pretty well and only really sank after the prolonged flooding back end of last year. Not really worth digging it up to do it properly, it works ok as it is.
  20. So it's cooling to lower than the set temperature? Try the power off at the breaker trick and new batteries in the remote. Then it's time to check that the temperature sensor is clean and actually functional (could be time to get the A/C man in).
  21. OK, not quite DIY, more (grand) child labour - supervised by Madam of course. Re-gravelling our drive, we had to wait until the ground dried out after last year's flooding otherwise the rocks would just vanish into the squidgy mess. I'm not sure what the "rocks" are actually called, it consists of stones up to around 1/2" along with much finer stuff, with rain and driving it compacts into a very solid surface (digging a channel for some cables was definitely hard work). After some rain and driving on it we'll get another load of the "rocks" and fill in the low spots. The rustic "grass up the middle" drive fits well with our "more jungle than bowling-green" style of garden.
  22. Are you actually trying to warm the room above outside ambient? If so does your A/C have "heat" mode. If it's stuck cooling when you don't want it to do try new remote batteries as above, then try turning it off at the breaker, have a coffee/beer, then try it again. Right now opening the windows would achieve what you want at zero cost.
