  1. Note, doesn't work particularly well if your amp has a plastic case ????
  2. Sorry I've not posted for a few days, some of us have to work and we are actually back in the office. This coupled with the fact that it's dark, raining or both when I leave home and we've had a couple of late meetings meaning the same applied when I got home... 4PM Thursday ???? Anyway, here we are at local "fairly high" and 55cm below "Worry". Even the garden is dry enough to squelch to the photo point ????
  3. People pay a lot of $$$ for TENS machines which stimulate the body via mild electric shocks, you're getting it for free! Anyway. Many of the lower-cost amps have low-cost cheap power supplies which leak a bit even though they are supposedly Class-2 or better. Damp atmosphere, bare feet and a sweaty body all help to enhance that electrifying experience. Some amps have a dedicated "ground" terminal for you to hook an earth wire to. You could try turning the plug around in the outlet. Failing that, if you want to add a ground then add it to the screen (outer) of your guitar lead. Maybe via a spare amp input or by adding a lead to the back of an input socket. If the amp has a metal panel with the inputs on it, try grounding that.
  4. Grand daughter is in line for tomorrow 11AM. NONE of the family are objecting, the kids have to get back to school, if that needs a jab then so be it.
  5. Good on her, every little helps! I must take a photo of our local barbecue chicken seller who has a solar powered spit turner (still charcoal cooking mind).
  6. Several of the QR schemes are available to foreigners, TrueMoney Wallet, Rabbit Line Pay being the ones I use. You might need your pink ID or a WP to register ???? Your Thai bank's app probably includes a "scan to pay" function too. It's just a case of sorting out which is available at the outlets you use.
  7. Cell towers have battery backup for several hours. A tower uses between 1 and 5kW (much of which is actually the A/C to keep the kit happy). 50kWh of batteries will easily fit in the space of a large fridge and live in the "container" with the electronics. Many towers in rural India have no mains supply at all and use solar arrays, handy when the grid is "somewhat" unreliable. This is a 48V, 1,800Ah cell tower pack, about 80kWh. Yes, I would love to have this attached to our solar!
  8. Sadly, whilst I do think increased vetting is a sensible idea, I suspect this initiative will result in a standard Thai "sledge hammer and nut" solution. It's far easier to assume we are all criminals on the run than it is to actually filter out the bad guys.
  9. So long as you understand that Thailand doesn't use ring finals and radials are limited to 20A (16A unfused plugs) you'll be fine with BS7671. Oz is very similar to Thailand in those respects, hence the suggestion of As3000, they probably have an equivalent to the Onsite Guide.
  10. Noooooooo!!!!! Love them both to bits really of course. But two Thai teens consume food and electricity (A/C in two bedrooms, I think they have pet penguins) like there's no tomorrow
  11. Only a "couple"?? We have the grandkids staying for the covid duration, I need a case per day!! They are going back to school, "soon"!
  12. Not a weekend, but a Public Holiday counts. I finally got fed up with pumping up the pressure tank on our Grundfoss pump (it had a slow leak in the liner). Not being enamoured with the price of a genuine Grundfoss tank I got one on Lazada, 1,400 Baht https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i2332955878-s7893630468.html It very conveniently arrived yesterday, I had already soaked the old one's threads with penetrating oil so it only needed relatively mild application of the lump hammer/spanner combination to get it moving. Amerkem "Type 51" pipe compound on the threads of the new one and it screwed on easy. Amazing how smooth the water flow is now.
  13. Here we are around local high tide. It's still too squidgy to get to my usual measuring points but the level is a good 20cm below the peak from Sunday ???? I'm not going to say it's over yet (puyai-baan said another week when he was on the speakers yesterday), but it's looking pretty good (famous last words!).
  14. You need to define "original" and for that matter "knock off". It's not like these things are branded memory sticks with fake branding. As others note, you really need to hear any musical instrument being played.
  15. Looks like your PCs have been breeding like ... rabbits
  16. Yes! We had almost exactly the same kind of issue with our old Ranger, new battery sort of improved it. Then it decided one day to just go "click"! Starter solenoid dead, contacts had been cooking for a while by the looks of it. Replacement solved the issue and it's been fine since.
  17. If you need something in English, the closest Western requirement is AS/NZ3000.
  18. 220V units are unknown here and for that matter in much of the world. They are just starting to be recommended in the UK and cost £££££££. https://www.discount-electrical.co.uk/section.php/111481/1/wylex-afdd-rcbos It's also hotly debated whether thay actually have any significant effect.
  19. If you do decide to drive, I always park on the left side of the road just before the ramps up to the building. I'm an early bird usually so there's usually a space in the actual marked spaces, but parallel parking (in neutral, handbrake off) is accepted.
  20. We are at local low right now, level is well down. Next local high is at 5PM, will report back then.
