What kind of materials were used here they ask,? its not about the materials so much as to what kind of labour force were they using, they dont have a clue how to lay cement, or pavers ..go have a look at Soi Padtanakan East Pattaya , the whole length of the Soi (couple of miles) had new footpath installed a few years ago, today you cannot walk on it because 1; its crumbling and very uneven 2; most of the footpath is covered in grass and weeds where the foundation was'nt compacted properly, but no one checks thier work

  8. In a coiuntry where laws are followed and checked ALL public service vehicles should have fire extinguishers on board, but never in Thailand is anything checked except tourist visas ..where money is to be made

  10. Why is there never an investigation as to how / why this happened, so as to maybe prevent it happening again, is it because of costs, / know how, / too lazy to do the paper work...multiple loss of lives swept under the carpet..Again
  11. Off topic but talking about Plastic cards, I have a Debit card from SCB that i use regularly for Supermarket shopping at all Supermarkets, and I pay only the amount due with this card. I would like to know why when I use the same card at say a Travel agent, Hotel, or Car dealer ship do they try to charge me 5% extra when a Debit card is instant money for them, I have asked the bank this question, their reply is "not sure"

  16. So, in the eyes of Immigration, and or, the Labour office, Painting / Maintaining your own house, or Digging your own Garden, is considered working, and taking away work that a Thai national could be paid to do, where do they draw the line?

My Thai wife is a member of our Village Committee, so I sometimes used to get involved, painting, reparing things around the viilage, until a Thai Resident asked why is a Farang doing work, and not a Thai, my wife pointed out that I am a Volunteer, and a Thai would want money to help, that promted me into asking Immigration what, if any work i can do, one officer said if im volunteering then its no problem, another officer 1 month later said i would be subject to arrest, they make up the rules as they go along, be careful
  18. I had much the same except waking many times with dry mouth / throat, i bought a humidifier, and it sems to have stopped the problem, as when i forget to use it the waking up many times seems to return..

  21. Thai's do a good enough job themselves ruining pattaya's family friendly reputation, (thats gotta be a joke), motorbike taxi's drivers pissing on the beach opposite Siam commercial bank close to walking st, for starters
  22. Have a look at the lower end of Soi Kownoi in East Pattaya you cant see the Drain covers for piles of Garbage thats been washed down the hill, so how is the rain supposed to drain away, its much the same throughout the city..
