Red Bull Heiress Sues for Defamation Over Son’s Hit-and-Run Scandal

Prove that you didn’t influence process! How’s about banning that stuff in Thailand until the little pipsqueak is brought to justice!? -
Thailand Faces Mental Health Crisis as Millions Affected
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Expect it’s always been high but more people are coming forward as it’s not as stigmatised as it was. Having said that, post-2020 has been particularly SH1,T for a lot of people. -
Are you Dehydrated ? what you need to know
daveAustin replied to CharlieH's topic in Health and Medicine
Living in Thailand, we're likely all dehydrated and, if you're a heavy drinker, are rarely if ever properly hydrated in this climate. Getting the right electrolyte balance is especially important. Drinking gallons of water only (esp RO, which is devoid of minerals) won't do you any favours. -
Pita Leads in Latest Poll, Backed by Majority
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It would but the current regime would find a way to close them down before that happens. Then there is always the backup coup option. ☹️ -
Not until I read your dour post lol. The mind is an untamed beast and has caused untold anxiety in the world. Be like an animal; live in the moment, not the past or future which are not real.

Mine was back within a couple weeks, but bearing in mind you need to go to Bkk twice, or have a mate post it down to you. Would probably go agent route in the future, albeit not happy having passport in the Thai postal system. The courier the VFS use in Bangkok is super-fast. Might be a bit slower than the above now because summer is approaching and many Brits are also scrambling to renew since the new rule of passports having to be issued within 10 years to visit Euro countries. Beforehand you could get 10+ years up to the date of previous one.

Singapore turbulent flight: Aussie survivor’s desperate plea
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Can't really blame those too harshly for being unbelted as there would have been people in the toilet, toing & froing from the toilet, getting stuff from bags etc, then there's the crew who are obviously always unbelted. Airlines push it of course but not overly so as something like this is very rare. I personally always keep mine belted unless the above, but it takes an event like this for people to really take notice. The dive to emergency land was right since the pilot's main concern was getting a potentially broke plane grounded asap and saving everyone. If Singapore Airlines actively kept people quiet though they should be shafted for it. Wouldn't stop me flying with them but might temporarily hurt their business. -
One dead, 30 injured in Singapore Airlines emergency landing
daveAustin replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well you’re silly then as clearly turbulence hits any time. Was on the flight not long before this happened but have always made a point of strapping in and also not wonder around the cabin as some typically older folk do. You’re blasting along in a tube at 1000kph! -

Who cares what any poll thinks? Just don’t do it if you don’t want to. -

1,882 new COVID-19 hospitalisations and 16 deaths in the last week
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Agreed. The hysteria wont stop though; some people thrive on it. If world leaders jump all over this again, it will cause irreparable damage. I will never touch that junk again unless I am absolutely forced to to get in the country. Every time I had it—AZ, Moderna—it caused agony in my joints for months and I am far from being an old fogey. Garbage. I will let my immune system take it on as nature intended. If it fails then do be it. -
Can Durian kill you when you drink alcohol? Yes, when mixed with high speeds.

That’ll wipe that silly smirk off his boat. Having said that, he’s only the puppet. The whole shebang needs to go. -

Trang man wins 72 million baht lottery jackpot
daveAustin replied to george's topic in Thailand News
Know someone that won big on this. Pretty rare though. Dunno if there’s an option to remain anonymous but I wouldn’t be telling anyone bar close relatives that I’d won ‘a bit’. Broadcasting it is asking for trouble. Aside: Do wish the Thais would stop this hardon for everything China… Chinese new year, the Chinese calendar, lucky Chinese numbers blah blah. Enough already, you’re your own beast ff,s. -
Really doesn't help Chiang Mai's problem as you say, sat in a natural bowl as she is. The air would be crap at this time of year if you went back to Mangrai's time, or indeed no human activity altogether, but chuck in all that local burning, the thousands upon thousands of crappy sawngthaew/tuk-tuk motors and ridiculous amount of traffic in general--plus the millions of tons worth of badly burned air coming over from Burma--and you have a recipe for disaster. Been going on for decades, but particularly noticeable now due to especially excessive heat.

Aussie Woman Reveals Harrowing Tales from Infamous Thai Prison
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Wash your mouth out! That is NOT how Thais live, duck. You were in a Southeast Asian prison for trafficking one of the most destructive substances known to man. While you can be forgiven for that little derogatory slip-up, just think yourself lucky you didn't get the original, 'proper' sentence and had the chance to rebound and make coin off of it. Many Thais in your shoes never would have. -
Bad News For Weed Shops: Potent Cannabis Poses Mental Health Risks
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Even if this were a thing (10y olds doing it)--sounds like a load of old twaddle to me--do you thing banning it and chucking people back in prison would stop fictitious kiddies from doing it? People should be schooled on it and its relative merits, of which there are many in comparison to none with alcohol (yes, sorry), as they need to be schooled on a lot of things. How far do you want to go, though? How much do you want to wrap up the populace and make them a bunch of unfeeling automatons propping up a dodgy system? This is the nub of the matter regards revenue. That and old dinosaur face. As to smoking it, personally have no axe to grind here since I don't do it anymore (not really for me); I've just got a bit of a problem with people telling others what to do... in particular bent, shyster ministers with an agenda that have no right to be in office in the first place. -
Bad News For Weed Shops: Potent Cannabis Poses Mental Health Risks
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Any ruling on this, even if there are detrimental effects, would not make a blind bit of difference since people will still smoke it. It is just big brother bs and national face at play. -
How to lower electric usage to reduce electric bill?
daveAustin replied to RolandRat's topic in General Topics
H/W showers, aircon and ancient fridges set on high use most juice. This time of year is a killer for AC, esp in Bkk. Even if you set it to 30-29, it’ll be working hard and will use up a lot if the compressor’s an old thing. Most condos will charge their own rate, prob 8 baht/unit and up. Nowt you can do about that. Consider moving to a condo that sees shade most of the day. -
Well if he got off, came off and dropped his goods then he might have an issue. 😋 Sorry, op, but a bit of clarification needed.
