  1. lol. Awesome. Great birds.
  2. Why four question marks to one question? Probably English. Unlikely Thai maid reads Flemish. Poor dude, albeit 73 isn't a bad innings. Not a nice scenario if one is murdered, though.
  3. Doesn't the price go up significantly beyond a certain power output, something like 220HP? You could always send your kid over to the West ('to school') and have them bring one back... or did they close that particular loophole already? That, or get yourself a nice Toyota. ;-) Bought a PreRunner many moons ago and sold it three years later for more than I paid for it (currency fluctuations).
  4. What a bizarre post. I don't know wtf is going on here, sorry. Bit too much Tinglish for me. Op, getting a poxy worthless book to satisfy this or that bank (never been asked) seems a bit queer. I mean, to what end? Just open the fker up and chuck some money in online. When it's extension time, bung the girl 200 for the letter and be done with it. Why one would feel the need to spend millions on a s.hole condo to expedite this type of process or whatever is beyond me.
  5. Yep, stunning country but utterly abhor the bent & backward ruling dinosaur politburo element and also the general xenophobic hue of the populace which is enough to make a mother eat her young! The closest I come is transiting through Beijing, and even then I find myself gritting my teeth. They can keep the visa free, I would sooner chuck my money Thai-side.
  6. That's what I thought. A commonality when people retire and have fewer things to worry about in life, though, is even something as innocuous as SPAM (lol) and 'untenable' price increases thereof could apparently send one over the edge.
  7. You're right, it isn't. Might not be doing so great regionally, but look how much richer the place has been over the last 30 years or so... those others are bound to do a bit of comeback. The real people in power here want to make it look all rosy or doom 'n gloom based on their current agenda. Btw, the inbound tourist figure was always cooked. It will be nowhere near 27M. They tout every head coming in... I might visit and then bounce all across Asia popping in and out of the Venice of the East half a dozen times and apparently I'm six people! It is likely closer to 15M. Anyway, good thread... some quality invective there from Mr 'Smith' et al.
  8. I prefer the term 'smiling donkey'. `Same same I guess.
  9. But 'they' don't care though, Mike, since their palms are well greased and normality does not include/affect them.
  10. Well, he would know since his whole government is one big FAKE!
  11. Also had/have that 'problem'. They think I'm cute apparently.
  12. Try to make friends with a crow, rook or raven. You'll have a friend for life; they'll follow you around and bring you stuff. Wonderful birds.
  13. This is a thing. I seem to do well with dogs, cats, donkeys and birds. One's thoughts and general (mis)demeanour is, typically unknowingly, put out there and animals pick it up because their senses are heightened and 'in-tune'. We don't know it because we hoomans are lost sheep
  14. Might I suggest don an angry boomer-expat-in-Thailand face? That'll scare em off.
  15. Unlikely to be rolled back completely. Far too many folk and influentials are too ingrained in the trade and it is clearly not a problem. Dhead dinosaurs in the bogus 'government' will talk S, chomp at the bit and try to impart their misguided tat on the people, but reckon they will get shut down. Posit there will be an advisory and shops might be made to close, but it will be up to you if you use as it should be. As to personal usage, mine has gone up a tad.
  16. China ruining the world again, eh? Gotta love em!
  17. People reacting to this post (giving genuine info as a reply) and many others with crying and sad emoticons is the perfect example of why they should be taken away, or perhaps provided only to those that are old enough and can be trusted. Some people have too much time and are puerile troublemakers. Was hoping the downtime would have shaken them out to the 'other' forum.
  18. Why they bother doing that, bringing all those undesirables in, just tax the retirees.
  19. There's either a B or $ missing there! If folk believe he only acquired $40 odd k in 9 years at the top, they need their head read. It will be buried offshore in Joe Doe accounts
  20. ^^^ Initially it used to be just + and - reactions. But they took the - away after the numpties were complaining they were getting too many - for posting tat. Rather than stop posting tat, they complained. lol
  21. Boomer-esque twaddle! Not gay but this is a step forward for any modern society even if the current questionable Thai gov is doing it as an agenda. The Stone Age era Muslim countries should take note.
  22. Safari. Most others are a joke and can’t be trusted, including Chrome. Don’t do your banking on them. If you’re not a Mac/iPhone man then never mind. I still prefer using a PC but probably wouldn’t go back.
  23. You are kidding right? People are always flippant on these types of threads; look at the first couple replies… typically non empathetic boomers. Why the F would a depressive travel all the way here to jump? Low balconies in this country is a real thing. The amount of times I’ve almost gone over with beer in hand! Thailand seriously needs to get its <deleted> together in policing this—i.e. MAKE IT POLICY TO ENSURE CONTRACTORS FOLLOW BUILDING CODES AND CHUCK UP HIGH BALCONY RAILS! Big fines on architects and cops for aholes that don’t comply. It is not a third world country but dogs in streets and stuff like this makes it appear so.
  24. How’s this for an idea, stop chucking out negatives and be thankful for small mercies! Another four Thais have just been released. It is fantastic. They could have all been slaughtered.
