Dunno, flown them the last few times and they were certainly the best priced direct airline. Folk can mince about and waste time with the no names, changing aircraft umpteen times at odd hours, or mess about in the Middle East (no thanks), but I'd rather just get there and at least in some sort of style. Nice uniforms btw, though a bit long in the leg. It'll make their job harder but at least it will save them from being aggressively ogled by the boomers. 😃

Quizzed once in 25 years (from London) when had a one way ticket without a visa. Very rarely, if ever, had my passport opened up beyond the picture page. If you've got a visa and have a one-way ticket, you won't be given a hard time.

Hardly. It’s all relative and look at other parts of Asia and Africa. Ascribing western wages is, again, naive. Minimum earners in the UK get something like 3500 baht a day and that is essentially unliveable there with your own digs. You could double, triple, x10 wages here but what do you think is going to happen? Everything goes up in kind and the low earners still get the shaft. That is the monetary system I’m afraid.

Resigning his government and installing the winning party in place—you know, that democracy thing—will give a nice boost to the economy, improve Thailand’s standing overseas (read: everyone apart from China, Russia and those other dodgy nations) and make the people happy.

Not really. Only thing that really keeps me up is the possibility of coming back for another round and being born diseased to abusive parents in the back of beyond or similar. I hope Thai workers get help there, but I also hope this pm uses this opportunity to highlight the plight of migrant workers in Thailand and the need to treat them with equal dignity. They are human, too.

Kids will be fine; it’s the high school they could do with being back in Europe for. If you divorce there, everything will likely be stacked against you. Luckily never had these issues when did Europe with Mrs, albeit she is laidback, works hard and a good mother. Sucks to find out your wife is pretty much hopeless after having kids. You have my sympathy. I would still try to save it though, but that would likely entail coming back here. Those that say to walk away from your kids (I’d sooner die) are losers/trying to be funny and not worth entertaining. All the best.

Fair play, the all-knowing boomers can be annoying 😋. Dunno about later hours but guess it’s nice to have the choice and should probably be certain areas like Bangla in Phuket. If you live there and moan about the extra noise; well, who’s to blame for that? Forget the later hours for a moment and take away the daft purchasing times in the day. This bewilders tourists more than anything.
