  1. She not feel happy with this prime minister (caretaker) job.

    Politics is not her world.

Every day, surrounded by old power hungry men, telling her day by day what to do.

The family clan has pressed her in that role.

Typical Thai, the own family always comes first.

She do this pm job, but with no heart.

She lives the dream of her brother, but not her own dream.

In her position she can not always run away.

She has taken on the responsibility, then she must stand by it

    To drop tears doesn´t help.

For the business of politics it lacks everything.

When a Prime Minister is suspected to be received commands by a convict criminal,

is this very bad for the credibility to lead a reform process.

If someone held this high position, he also has the responsibility.

In her position, she is responsible for:

    - White wash Amnesty bill, which triggered the protests

    - The fact that she has given her fugitive brother a passport

    - Unprecedented waste of state money (gambled with the future of the children)

    - That a criminal, - convicted in two instances -, Party spokesman speaks on her behalf.

    - Policy operates dividing the country

With this record, no Prime minister -in a democracy-, would be able to hold himself only one day more in office.

That we have now a Suthep shouting on the road, it is her, - the prime ministers - fault.

What would happen with/in Thailand if she resigns now?

  2. I'm glad to read that.
Contain at least a small fuse to the unabashed self-service on the state budget.
In the last two years, the government has burned money in new outstanding dimensions.
Rice Scheme -800 billion Baht, floodmoney -350 billion, first Car Buyer Scheme, first House buyer scheme,
    overpriced useless tablets, etc.
All this money is gone with any positive effects to the economic.
    Not even a short-term effect.
    A brainless waste of money.
A robbery of the public finances.
I realize that this is not understandable for people without an economic education.
Many do not even know that they and their children have been robbed.
In terms of the national economic damage are Ali Baba and the 40 thieves choirboys.
The country needs investments in education (modernization of all public schools), health (modernization of state hospitals),
drinking water supply, road safety and natural ressources conservation.

  3. This shows the whole dilemma.
The DSI police as an institution of the executive must be neutral.
If a complaint is made, then the police should be determined and keep the facts/evidence
The prosecutor decides whether charges are brought.
Then it usually comes to a court hearing where the defendant has a chance to defend himself.
    The court makes a judgment.
    The judgment shall be enforced.
Again, there must be always individual case assessment.
The freezing of accounts is a punishment.
My opinion is admissible only to immediate danger to life and limb in an investigation.
For example, the police are in an authorized wiretap and listen from a contract murder.
“You kill X and I'll send now 100,000 to your account”
The freezing of accounts must then, as the punishment is performed out of court, serve this purpose.
That is not the case in my opinion here.
    1. All defendants are taken in this general suspicion, that is, a single test case (who has called for what) has not taken place here.
Thus, the action / penalty to freeze accounts is here out of court, was carried out without further single case investigation.
    2. Furthermore, public speeches were held under a political demonstration here.
Each executive institution must take particular care, that the measures are not politically motivated,
to put in question the neutrality of the investigative body.
    3. Did the punishment (freezing of accounts) serve the purpose?
surely not! The speeches and demonstrations continue.
    4. Is the measure appropriate? Will they be perhaps other innocents also affected?
Certainly yes. Some of those affected can not punctually pay the school fees for their children or their rent maybe.
In this Case the DSI acts like investigators and judges in a person.
Prejudice and anticipated punishment without legal assessment of those affected.
    Highly questionable.
A complaint of official abuse would have good chances of success
    Who brought a charge?
    Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit?

  4. Too many posts here are full of hatred, extremism and insults.

We criticize Thai people for the way they face things in everyday life, but many of us are not really that different, right?

And it's totally appalling to see how some poster get a post against an idea or against some people as an offence thrown to him.

Guys, let's make a big laugh and try to keep a decent level.

I am not making any comments today to avoid being called names or more. This thread became almost unreadable :/

    I agree with your observations.

The level of reflexive discussion is unfortunately fallen.

Especially have the sledgehammer one liner posts increased.

    Agree 100%

This thread became almost unreadable :/

  5. The people are fed up fully by all corrupt parties only to thinking itself and divide the country.

The people want a change – Now - and are constantly annoyed to see the same predisposed faces.

May that is the Thai way to postpone the elections.

    - Parliament is dissolved

    - One of the two major parties declared they will not participate in the elections.

    - At the last moment the other major party will be relegate with their 312 candidates from the election.

  6. Among many other necessary measures, the parties should initially restricted to a few key points, as reforms need time.

They must change first the system of distribution of money and become more transparent.

It does not matter who wins the election or who has the majority.

What must be avoided is, that the winner gets the entire state budget and can do with it what he wants.

Perhaps all parties should agree in advance that the state budget must be divided by provinces,

taking into account how many people living in each tschang wat.

A percentage distribution of the state budget for an election period might be a solution

So the minority do not go out empty-handed.

It can not be that 51% get all and 49% get nothing.

Unequal distribution and corruption are the two core problems in this country.

  7. Taking voting rights away from poor and uneducated not the answer: Thai election commissioner

    I agree.

To take the voting right away for some groups (poor, uneducated, illiterate, taxpayer, blind, deaf yes/no) is not the answer.

They must change the system of distribution of money and become more transparent.

It does not matter who wins the election or who has the majority.

  8. An open letter.
    Dear YL,
    never meet you in person.
With this distance I like to ask you:
Why you go and make politics?
I feel you really do not like it.
With all this power-hungry old men around you.
You have so much money already.
You must not have fears of existence with all that money you have.
    Why you not enjoy live?
Family, travelling, shopping, lying on the beach, etc.
Guess the prime minister job is the most difficult job ever.
Working 20 hours every day, sit for hours in Parliament, meetings,
appointments, solve problems, talking, reading, many information, papers,
people are screaming at you, be public all the time and to make good decisions for all people in the country, etc.
This life with this great responsibility, it is difficult to live.
    Too much stress!
Never life the dream of you brother.
    Live your own dream!
    A purely hypothetical question:
What would happen in Thailand now, if you would resign?
  9. The former outspoken MP of Thai Rak Thai party was later escorted to the detention area of the court pending bail for temporary release.

    blink.png

Guilty. Sentenced to jail. Temporary release???????????????? bah.gif

As an attorney, I will never understand Thai law. If you are convicted, found guilty, sentenced to a jail term and THEN only held temporarily for release on bail? Isn't that the wrong way? Convicted, then bail, then jail once found guilty. TiT

Yes there bail system is in many cases not understandable.
Especially in cases where the offender has confessed in the first instance, to get a soft sentence
For example, the verdict comes as 2 years in jail.
Then he can go against the judgment in appeal.
And then he is free again on granted bail.
Crazy, coz the offender has confessed.
Normally, the minimum penalty must provided, written in the Criminal Code, for an offense to be served.

The already dismounted jail time would then be transferred to the new judgment.

But here they let the self-confessed criminals run free again, until the final judgment is spoken.
So if you have enough money you can go here by all instances, even if you have confessed in the first instance!
This happens here in many cases also with self-confessed murderers!
A very sad case of this bail system was the killer cop from Pai,
who first shoot a tourist dead in a bar with many Eyewitnesses.
The court released him on bail!
Later on, - free on bail - he kills then his wife.
  10. Quite a strange way for defending the government - basically he is saying 'It is not true what BAAC is saying that we have not given them the money for rice subsidies. We shall have the money and pay to BAAC before the end of the year...'

His logic is fundamentally flawed because his statement actually does not refute the BAAC statements.

    Agree.

    This is shadow fighting.

To see who should resign, he needs only to look in a mirror.

I hope the bank manager fills charges agains him for slander and false testimony.

That would gives the reform process surely more drive.

I am pitty for all the farmers who have to pay for this madness in the future,

and i am pitty for all the taxpayers who have paid for this madness until today.

  11. Be carefull

If you buy a bottle of Singha beer you make yourself suspicious to support the demonstrations

    Be carefull

were you park your car in Banglampoo. The DSI writes/records all number plates.

It can happen that then your bank accounts will be freezed.

With this behavior, the DSI is not a neutral investigative authority anymore.

The authority operates an active policy and is suspected of abusing their power unilaterally.

Now also the right to demonstrate in Thailand is under bombardment.

    Yes demonstrations must be peaceful.

But to threatening all participants and provide all under general suspicion,

casts a very bad light on this institution.

It is important that the caretaker government speaks a word of power here,

and make a call to order for out-of-control authorities.

    What's next?

    Abolition of freedom of assembly?

  12. So let us again hold the numbers:
686.000.000.000 Baht injection to start this §$”% Rice Scheme
+ 180.000.000.000 Baht injection from rice sales in 2 years.
    + 60.000.000.000 Baht new injection
= 926.000.000.000 Baht Government spend for the rice scheme
    - 130.000.000.000 Baht (Stockpile value at best (Assumption of 25% is rotten))
    - 14.745.000 Baht BAAC fees 2012
    - 4.095.000 Baht BAAC fees 2013
= 795.981.160.000 Baht loss on states tax payers money.
The account of the BAAC must be something like this:
    100.000.000.000 Baht equity
    - 82.000.000.000 Baht Outstanding loans of farmers
    - 12.000.000.000 Baht Cash (As yesterday reported)
    - 6.000.000.000 Baht Accounting profit before depreciation
It is unbelievable that there is no valid information here.
Every little food stall on the street has a better accounting than this government.
If we assume further the local corruption rate of 30%
Then 238.794.348.000 Baht is gone by corruption
This amount is offset by any economic performance!
This is an indictment of this government.
Those responsible must be used to account here!
If this money destruction is not stopped immediately, the future of all children in this country is significantly worsened.

The scope to improve this country in the future is severely restricted.

I agree - apart from the comment on this regimes accounting. I think they have very good accounting, and know where every satang has gone. It ain't ever going to be shared information though.

Meantime, play the fudging game by issuing lots and lots of meaningless confusing numbers and simply lie as usual when challenged.

agree also, but i still belief they really do not know how many millions rice they have in stockpile.

The corruption is all the way down in the food chain.

15.000.000 ton of milled rice in 50kg bags is = 300.000.000 rice bags.

They are stored in over 2.000 stocks.

That there was/is double and triple bookings, some bags for family, they let the bags rotating between the stocks, same Truck drive around the block many times, manipulated scales, etc.

The system is constructed to cheat.

  14. 800b for BKK protesters from BKK.

2000b for BKK protesters coming in from outside BKK.

    Rate per day.

You sir are absolutely full of crap they are being paid nothing.

    Full of crap.

Numerous people from our BKK village joined and/or were asked to joined (including our household) for 800b.

    BKK village?

    Where is that?

I also know a couple of thaifriends, neighbors and businesspeople here from the southern islands driven to Bangkok.
Some have Resorts, Shops, travel agencies or some business.
I do not know if they got money as is claimed here, I simply do not asked them,
but one thing I know for sure:
In their absence from business, many have lost serious money!
  15. Some days ago I was in a public school and had a talk with some 10-11 year old boys.

I ask, among other things, what job occupation they like in the future for themselves.

    This was unanimously.

    Highway police!!!

    Why?

Because they make a lot of money.

I was told that they could make 100.000 Baht in one night.

This has given me much to think about ethics and honesty.

  16. I have not seen one farmer that has not been paid yet. I just don't believe it sorry. If thousands of farmers would not have been paid yet they would be in Bangkok already.

The Rice Mills are the one that didn't have been paid yet but many give cash out to farmers that bring their supply in for a discount.

Most rice from farmers in Isaan at least that I know off don't qualify for the pledging as the quality is not Grade A. Many have been turned down in our village.

    For you to read.

    http://altthainews.blogspot.com/2013/12/rice-farmers-revolt.html

    http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/thailand-thai-rice-farmers-subsidy-stockpiling-government-529342

If the opposition made this public and understandable to the farmers, then this group will protest to kick out the government.

  17. Is it really so interesting to lead the country in the next 2 years?

Who likes to explain to the farmers that the rice scheme is not financially viable?

Maybe it is better to make only once an inventory, in terms of finances?

Besides working on reforms, and checking out what is budget wise realistically possible and necessary?

To really solve the country's problems, both political camps must (learn) work together,

for the benefit of the country and around the inner peace to be restored.

Hopefully all remember the birthday speech of their king.

    Peace and unity.

Hopefully all responsible leaders look in the mirror and ask themselves:

“Have I really done anything to help my country?”

Starts at times to do your duty for your country and the people.

Man,y many state leaders and people in key positions have already made enough money

yet for themselves. Many do not have existential fears.

Many of these leaders have lost contact with the people. They do not know what it means:

To work for 300 Baht a day as a construction worker, taxidriver, service worker, etc. or

to feed a family as a farmer.

Greedy and corrupt people should resign.

    Please all.

Make the way free for honest people to lead this country.

It is time now to pay back to your country.

  18. From a legal point of view, highly questionable.
Usually there is a complaint and a Prosecutor's assigns investigations.
An executive body (Police) then determines.
It comes at a due process in court.
The court shall issue a judgment.
But in this Case the DSI acts like investigators and judges in one body.
This kind of police behaviour reminiscent of dark periods in Germany.

This could be actually uncinstitutional as well.

Looks like they have bypassed the ministry of justice on this one and taken their orders directly from Dubai.

I hope the Dems throw the DSI to the NACC and the constitutional court.

To freeze the money of a private person, it needs a court order.

  19. This is only the prelude for a financial disaster.
I guess the loss on 680 Billion + 180 Billion
minus rotten Stockpile – 12 Billion Cash in BAAC – outstanding 80 Billion loans=
is around 800 Billion Baht loss. (The BAAC is going bankruptcy)
+ unknown Flood fund money 350 Billion (ti nai?)
+ Car scheme (more and more can no longer finance their loans)
+ the future rice harvest, which must then be sold to a large extent on the world market.
Many farmers will then make losses because their production costs are higher than the world market price.
Many farmers will lose then their land.
If that is published among the farmers, then good night.
With this money they could modernize all schools and public hospitals throughout in the country.
    Could?
Sorry this money is already gone, burned in idiocy.
