  1. Suggest you do not book anything online.  Come to CM, find a reasonable hotel (500-700 baht per night), stay a few days and begin your search for longer term rentals.  Loads of places rent out decent rooms, wire internet, TV, aircon, hot showers, etc for 5000 baht per month.  Also, suggest rent a bicycle for the 'looking around' part as much easier to stop and check out the room.  IMO, far safer than a motorbike, esp if unskilled.

P.S.  This is precisely what i did years ago and cannot find fault with the plan.  I went to the Green Palace Hotel, near NimmenHaemen area.  600 per night.

  2. Just looked at the aforementioned 'DailyMail' site.  IMO> what a rubbish rag disguising itself as an online source of 'news'.  Nip slips, underboobs,  melon-breasts, all on colored display... that's news?

And since i'm not at the moment in T'land and can see the 'DailyMail' if YOU cannot find it on your computer, that's becoz it's banned in T'land (i think) due to a story years ago which mentioned the Royal Family.  Nuff' said.

  3. North china cities have hundreds of millions of the damn things.  Ultra quiet so they sneak up and cut off, or smash, any pedestrian or bicycle rider without remorse. Then the batt runs low and they mope around like an geezer on a crutch.

The thing is, any e-bike, so called, will probably be made in china; notorious for crap.  And very limited duration, hills out of the question, gotta charge it every night but even granny can drive it.  No gears and hand squeeze brakes.

Might work well in moo baan, or possibly old city.  The e-bike offers NO local air pollution and might introduce folks to the e-car and speak loudly to the the air pollution solution in the city.

  4. Who writes this crap?  Where's the news about the election results and the decades ahead of us all as Thailand goes the way paved by China.  All who live here, the Thai people and expats, will find increased repression, social control, ID cards and passports for bus tickets, mandatory registration for WiFi, cameras on every corner and built-in corruption to the nth degree as the election results take hold.

  5. How could i get to the golf course without a car?  Oh, i know some guys who carry the golf bag on the back while motorbiking a Honda tiny, but that is not my style at all. When i pull up at the clubhouse bag drop and pop the boot of the Bentley then i know both, comfort and happiness.  And the caddies do swoon, so that too is nice for me.  Motorbike?  Not even a Harley, or big BMW, will get that much attention.

  6. What is the "Report post"?  I see that on every post, next to the time the message arrived.  Report to whom and for what?  Some kind of snooping no doubt on fellow TV denizens.

So if someone uses a forbidden word or tries to sell me some religious idea i can report him/her to the authorities and get his/her a** caned?  Great!

  7. OK guys. I'm confused now. Bung claims dirty truck wheels are mucking up the moat road near RAM, so why can't the big construction company clean the truck wheels as done in high class towns, eg. HK, SIN.  Then Oscar says that near Central Fest the wheels are cleaned prior to road entrance so CM is not behind HK or SIN. But Dante counters that some hidden reason, unique to CM, exists which can reveal the reason for dirty wheels on the moat road.

I'd prefer the clean wheels myself. And ASAP i will check big construction site, operated by RITTA near my place.  I've seen lots of dirt dragged onto the soi roads so have little hope anything will change.

  8. Been here since May = 90 days, about.  And 900 posts, so 900/90 = 10 posts per day on TV.  Do you really get out of the apartment or only cruise around on the web, Miss Andry?

Frankly i don't think racism is at work regarding the dual pricing affair in SEAsia. I dare say every westerner i've met here is way richer than 99% of the Thais so higher prices for rich folks seems normal.  I mean don't rich folk pay more for cars, food, clothing, booze, etc?

  9. I believe this new web page is a 'pre-packaged' item from a common vendor.  I meet the same format on other forums. Makes the admin work probably easier just to 'rip and paste' compared to writing own lines of code (what do i know?).  Some aspects i don't like, will must learn to adjust.

But whether the new format can accommodate some desired changes remains to be seen.  I too would like the 'quick nav' button on page bottom.  Wait and see.

  10. Hmm. I wonder why Atlanta is not listed in Promotion fares.  I often go CNX, ICN, ATL and enjoy the flights.  I also use the KAL lounge at ICN with no problems.  Frankly, it's an incredible offering including numerous alcoholic drinks, nearly complete meals, snacks, easy chairs, good coffee...etc.  No charge but i did not stop at the desk, merely wandered in.

Unlike Winnie, i go economy only.  Too many grandkids to visit to afford luxury seat.

  11. Seems to me that the western ideas of sexual behavior and the moral cushions supporting those ideas are not at all universal. The folks who live in Asia are generally not infused with the incredible guilt and wrongness attached to every aspect of sex as the western children have learned. So in Thailand selling the body for sex is not so wrong but pointing to a monk with your foot will land you in jail.
