  1. Excellent. We need more selfish b4stards like you............ Oh Wait..... no we don't.
  2. Didn't most of the troops vote for him?
  3. You apparently don't know much about the Thai male... The question is redundant.
  4. You obviously didn't live in a north England town 80 years ago. It was the norm for the husband to hand over his weekly pay packet. The wife would hand a small amount back so he could go out for a beer.
  5. You need to get a life if you allow trivial things like that to affect your mood. (NB - that was not an idiotic comment)
  6. I might be inclined to argue that Khao Soi (delicious) is more Thai than Massaman (also delicious)...the former being of Lao/Northern Thailand origin and the latter more of a fusion dish with it's origin in Persia and India with Muslim roots. Thais adapted it well with the addition of chillies, coriander, lemongrass, galangal etc
  7. Even more panicked a few years back when Thailand said it was going to clamp down on migrant workers who had not been processed through official channels. Thousands fled and Hun Sen had to send buses to the border to ferry the people home. On that occasion Thailand shot itself in the foot because businesses could not get Thais to to do the hard labour that Cambodians were paid peanuts to do. The building industry and horticulture were two of the worst affected.
  8. You didn't mention the Yanks.......why limit your racism to but a few. Surely, fear of the police has no borders.
  9. A very well thought out, and presented, post. I can't argue with anything in the post because that is also my experience of extensive travel in the countries mentioned - and I mean 40+ visits to Cambodia and 10+ to Vietnam. I am hoping that I get bored with Phu Quoc before they screw that up. I think Vietnam has a more diverse range of locations than Thailand and whilst the 'welcome' is as described, I don't think it is any more friendly than Thailand was say, 20 years ago. Another place where there are too many Russians for my liking. Whilst I doubt that I shall ever leave Thailand, Vietnam was pencilled in for a 3 month p.a. home if the restatement of Thai tax policies had gone pear-shaped.
  10. My first Phall was in 1982 ish on a boys night out in Norwich. Now, after almost 20 years in Thailand, I can manage one quite comfortably. I tend not to have one because I don't like the stronger taste. \a Vindaloo is fine and I occasionally opt for a Dansak for it's taste.
  11. I am a Brit, it was humour and my apologies for making the assumption that you were too.
  12. I can't believe that 4 sanctimonious morons added a 'thumbs down' to this informative post.
  13. I think the title of this thread needs to be changed to Multiple Re-entry
  14. I love mobile banking and rather than moan about these changes I would invest in a magnifying glass and a phone with a stylus. The learning point here is get your mobile banking apps sorted before age 70.
  15. If she was that smart she would be wearing a little badge that said "POTUS".
