  1. He overlooked SARS
  2. There is no minimum requirement but you are best to have at least 6 months to avoid the risk of hassle when entering Thailand (or maybe even with issue of the visa). Thereafter the visa remains valid for 12 months and if you get a new passport you simply carry both with you.
  3. No. As mentioned, Jomtien required a specific form (which they gave me a copy of) from the K Bank International Department.
  4. The principle is true for every currency.... unless the Yanks are getting a bum deal on WISE charges - or US banks are giving away SWIFT transfers.
  5. US$9,900 is not a small transfer. Comparisons that I have done over the years has shown WISE to ALWAYS be cheaper for anything up to 1 million Baht. There is a tapering effect as the amount becomes larger but the difference in exchange rates has always been better than fees charged.
  6. Obviously. But as this is an English language forum I thought I would show what the wording says. Jomtien Immigration don't insist on the K Bank International Certificate because the bank statement is in English.
  7. I am in the opposite camp. Whilst I understand your view, I would not wish to burden my family with any end of life responsibilities. If I suffer a difficult end of life phase, I will seek to shorten it. A long time ago I discussed with my daughters the fact that I expected to die in Thailand and would be cremated in whichever country I died in. I checked that they neither wished to attend the cremation, nor required any of the 'ashes'. I have included £1,000 in my bequests for the family to have a 'celebration of my life' if they so wish.
  8. My K Bank online transactions, and bank statements, record the deposits as "Trade Finance"
  9. Depends which Immigration office you deal with. If you have one that accepts statement entries only then you are fortunate. Last time for Jomtien I had to go to the main Kasikorn office in Pattaya Klang to get a certification from their International section.
  10. Oh, he's despicable and has less charm than a brick. BUT, he is the democratically elected President of the USA and that is more important than any personalities involved. As a Brit, I respect the position but not necessarily the man.
  11. That is a stupid comment. What if your child was having an epileptic fit.........just leave them there 'untouched'? There is still excuse for the haircuts which are in breach of the law and should be punished accordingly..........and not with a wai and 2,000 Baht.
  12. No. Not on that road running down from the clock tower.
  13. No. It is your obsession with Trump that becomes tiresome because it is so myopic. You have to be a bit of a jerk to think that the leader of the free world is "failure".
