  1. It is also within the 7 day grace period.....................I would argue that - if they were sharp enough to pick it up.
  2. Who DOESN'T want to live into their 80's if they can have a quality of life that is acceptable the THEM?
  3. "Law and order".....like the War on drugs - and widespread corruption. Just a different snout in the trough.
  4. Wet my pants laughing at that one....................you and Eric can keep dreaming...????????
  5. If you were fit to fly.........................
  6. A lot.....even more if the Thais were trained how to drive - and were properly tested.
  7. You can't report an address if you are not here..... your timing means that you will have 'skipped' the need to report. The clock starts again on your arrival date. You will have immigration stamps to evidence your dates.
  8. Absolute bullsh!te! Breaking the law is breaking the law and you have absolutely no right to try and play God, or judge in these situations. No different to me getting the 10.3% increase in my state pension....whether it is morally 'right' doesn't matter....it is breaking the laws/rules set down by DWP . Nonetheless I do it as I would overstay if I had to. ...but I wouldn't piously claim to be outside the law - I would knowingly break the law in the full knowledge of possible consequences.
  9. I think the rubbish came from your side................... your empathy was obvious.
  10. So are you saying that support law breaking? Where do you draw your line - overstay, robbery, rape and murder?
  11. Sorry, but there is a degree of naivety in that post. You think an overstayer gets involved with TM30's and 90 day reports.? I knew someone on 5 years overstay (12 years ago - if he is still alive he could be the record holder!)' Lived in the backwaters of Buriram with a Thai lady and picked up his state pension of 8,500 Baht p.m. (and that was when the rate was 50). If the Immigration system was intelligent it would electronically
  12. So you missed an international flight because you did not allow enough time. 3 hours before your flight is the minimum recommended time. Even an hours queueing at Air Asia + an hour at immigration would still leave you enough time to get a Burger King before boarding.
  13. So, does this mean that 40% of Americans DO want Trump to be president again?
  14. That is stupid. I have had several Samsung products that have been going for years.
  15. You have more chance of being injured from falling off your soapbox!........................or pulpit...
  16. Standard visitor visas are normally issued for 6 months - you can apply for 2, 5 or 10 years (but can still only stay for 180 days) in any one visit. I know a family of 4 who were staying with the UK mother-in-law who were asked to provide a local authority letter confirming that accommodation was suitable. In most cases like this a Zoopla property description should suffice.
  17. You are visiting for a few weeks....your budget (and evidence of funds) will support that - including hotel accommodation. If you were visiting for, say, 4 months it would be different.
  18. You don't need a flight booking - in fact UKVI advise against booking flights until the visa has been approved......(totally the opposite with a Schengen visa). The online application process asks if you are staying in a specific place. I always cover that off in my 'sponsor' letter by referring to "we will be visiting various locations in the UK and will book suitable hotels in due course - the financial evidence supplied provides more than sufficient cover for such accommodation". If you are staying with relatives you may need a letter of invitation from them - and perhaps evidence that the accommodation is adequate for those visiting.
  19. I am aware that the original plan was to revert to 30 days, after 31 March, but I have not seen any official confirmation of this?
  20. I agree 100% A friend's application was submitted on 10th March; on 27th March the processed visa was sent out by VfS.
  21. Never heard that. Never experienced that in my 8 visits to Vietnam. Now, Bali.....that is a different story.
