  1. The WISE exchange rate benefit works for all amounts. About 2 years ago I did a chart listing transfers from GBP 500 to 2m Baht. In every case WISE was better. I am not questioning the time taken for your transfers, I am questioning the method. If mine take less than 10 seconds because I am with Kasikorn Bank then change to Kasikorn if the delay bothers you.
  2. I can't find that on their website:- Do I earn interest on my Balances or Jars? Wise https://wise.com › help › articles › do-i-earn-interest-o... We currently don't pay interest on money held in your Balances or Jars as Cash. We offer Assets in certain regions that allows you to hold your money in ... https://wise.com/help/search?q=interest But I also found this:- The news: UK-based money transfer fintech Wise launched an interest-bearing savings account dubbed Interest, per Bloomberg. Interest will roll out in the UK before expanding across Europe. Funds held in the account can be spent or sent via the Wise app. Wise will offer 3.29% interest for balances in American dollars, 2.52% for balances in British pounds, and 0.88% for balances in euros. https://www.insiderintelligence.com/content/wise-expands-beyond-money-transfers-with-savings-account
  3. I didn't know that, thanks. I have always usually transferred money in 'on the day', for transfer to Thailand.
  4. You are wrong on several counts. WISE higher charges are ALWAYS negated by a much better exchange rate. I get free international transfers with HSBC but it is considerably better for me to use WISE. 29 out of my last 30 transfers have happened in under 10 seconds......only one was delayed a few hours, and never until the next day. Make sure you are transferring Sterling into your WISE account and then instruct the Baht transfer from there.
  5. It's not rocket science. Your extension is done in Pattaya, your address will be registered there (otherwise they couldn't process the extension). What on earth made you think that you could do a 90 day report in Bangkok?
  6. My guess is "no".
  7. What? Don't mention......the war? Is this a quiz
  8. What evidence do you have for that potentially libelous statement? Friends have used them successfully for years; one has money in the bank, one didn't.
  9. It was .......until you replied.???? The point is - you CANNOT extend a visa, you can only extend the permission to stay date that was afforded by that visa.
  10. Whilst I agree whole-heartedly with your comments, I do have a preference for using the correct terminology wherever possible.
  11. Invalid/used is the same effect as cancelled - they have no further use. Not relevant to this thread but our wife only has to quote her last visa........ plus details of the last 3 UK visits (+other countries visited).
  12. I always believed that 90 day reporting is a totally separate issue from anything to with extensions; IOs, particularly in rural areas, will often do a 90 day report simultaneously....... absolutely no help if you are already reporting online. I see no difference between an extension date on a visa or on an extension. If the visa is 'live' then 90 day reporting does not apply (except O-A's) - you have to leave the country every 90 days.
  13. ???? Immigration will even refer to an extension as a "visa".... we are doomed. The correct terms do usually avoid any confusion......maybe!
  14. I always thought that visas were 'used' the moment you entered Thailand and what you can extend is your permission to stay. No visa can be extended!
  15. Absolute rubbish! Do it your way -but stop whining on internet forums.
  16. I have similar, a house in Buriram and a condo in Jomtein (where I spend most of my time). I choose to deal with Jomtein Immigration so my TM30 is set on the condo and I do my extensions etc at the local immigration office. If I visit the house in Buriram my missus does not submit a TM30 - absolutely pointless.. Could not be more simple than that.
  17. I don't believe that there are now any pension benefits available relating to you............. bereavement payments, yes, if she is UK domiciled.
  18. In Jomtein I didn't need anything other than the bank letter plus 12 months statements. I printed off Transferwise PDF's for each monthly transfer and highlighted each corresponding entry on the bank statements. Immigration showed no interest in my PDF's.
  19. That 02 888 8888 call centre (English language section) is very good. When I opened account with them the staff knew that I only needed to have a visa/extension.
  20. 2,000 Baht fine if they pick it up at Immigration at the airport.
  21. Mine worked two weeks ago and I had been to 5 different provinces in between reports. Your core TM30 address is unaffected by short term visits elsewhere.
  22. Yes it will, I do it all the time.
