  2. That's where the planning comes in...................by keeping a UK address and having cards sent there.
  3. You have a lot of choice..............doesn't have to be a Thai bank card.
  4. The kicker is that you have to work.
  5. Are there any real Socialists left?..............................Oh yes, they had Corbyn didn't they.
  6. You don't need to justify yourself to dissenters...................just leave them to dissent.
  7. Most certainly not! 🙂 Wouldn't get you a BJ....................
  8. Your grandson shouldn't be coming to Pattaya if he can't afford a half decent room for himself. Just give him 300 Baht a day beer money and let him learn how to Google.

  11. ….and there are probably enough of them to achieve a majority…
  12. Stupidity (yours, or anyone else’s) is not a barrier to voting.
  13. Best time ever in my 18 years in Thailand. From a selfish perspective I look forward to the next pandemic.
  14. Just a couple of comments to add… ALL banks require you to be U.K. resident to open an account. I send money to Thailand via WISE; never use your clearing bank to remit funds to Thailand.
  15. I have accounts with HSBC, NatWest, Santander, Nationwide, First Direct, Halifax and WISE - and cards with TESCO, MBNA, Virgin and Monzo. I have banked with HSBC for 52 years (I worked for them for 31 years) but I have recently made NatWest my main bank. Personally, I prefer their online banking system and their app. Santander is also good and they are no stricter on MLR checks than any of the others; you can’t avoid them - and as mentioned above keep a U.K. address and phone number. I would recommend retaining at least one U.K. bank and link to WISE. Expat friends have previously cut ties with the U.K. and now do not qualify to open one.
  16. +1 ...............and it is a super fruit https://www.superfoodevolution.com/durian-fruit.html#:~:text=Durian fruit is a highly,length-wise through each pod.
  17. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 45 seconds

  19. I just completed this quiz. My Score 30/100 My Time 291 seconds
  20. Correct. The Tories could not have done a better job of shooting themselves in the foot if the tried.................... 5 years in the wilderness is the price to pay - and they need to look a lot better if they are to sweep Labour away in 2029.
  21. That is all well and good but the Tories will need those 5 years to reinvent themselves into an electable party. Their self-destruction is deep-rooted.
