  1. The haters will always hate. First rate family destination.
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 90/100 My Time 147 seconds
  3. ….and there are probably enough of them to achieve a majority…
  4. Stupidity (yours, or anyone else’s) is not a barrier to voting.
  5. Best time ever in my 18 years in Thailand. From a selfish perspective I look forward to the next pandemic.
  6. Just a couple of comments to add… ALL banks require you to be U.K. resident to open an account. I send money to Thailand via WISE; never use your clearing bank to remit funds to Thailand.
  7. I have accounts with HSBC, NatWest, Santander, Nationwide, First Direct, Halifax and WISE - and cards with TESCO, MBNA, Virgin and Monzo. I have banked with HSBC for 52 years (I worked for them for 31 years) but I have recently made NatWest my main bank. Personally, I prefer their online banking system and their app. Santander is also good and they are no stricter on MLR checks than any of the others; you can’t avoid them - and as mentioned above keep a U.K. address and phone number. I would recommend retaining at least one U.K. bank and link to WISE. Expat friends have previously cut ties with the U.K. and now do not qualify to open one.

  12. Correct. The Tories could not have done a better job of shooting themselves in the foot if the tried.................... 5 years in the wilderness is the price to pay - and they need to look a lot better if they are to sweep Labour away in 2029.
  13. That is all well and good but the Tories will need those 5 years to reinvent themselves into an electable party. Their self-destruction is deep-rooted.
  14. This has been a favourite of mine over the years. They have become a little more 'pricey' and on occasions have used The Vogue instead. The March hotel (the other side of Pattaya Klang is good and also Nova Gold has had decent rates.
  15. Just do it; I will be hugely surprised if you don't find some enjoyment there. Have a look at the price on Klook and remember that if you can show expat status (a Thai driving licence works) you get the Thai price - still check Klook as their Farang price can be cheaper still. I think that the cultural show is worth seeing, the elephant show and the ride on the road bus.
  16. I paid 450 Baht on Lazada for grass fed ghee 360g. It will probably last me the best part of 6 months.
  17. Coconut oil and ghee for me for cooking. EVO for salads and dressings.
  18. MY TELLO. https://www.mytello.com/en_TH/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwufq2BhAmEiwAnZqw8h_pEt-yPbT8w4Rf-9wm4Dj6jh7ujwSXYEiK7kthzOkvSdfrT6tTHxoC-8cQAvD_BwE
  19. Don't tell me, I am not a voter - but it is a fact . Bookies have him 5/6 on versus Harris at Evens. My friend has just staked £400 on a Trump win.
  20. ......usually the same people.
