  1. I have cycled more than 44,000km in Thailand and have constant battles with soreness/redness etc. I wear 2 pairs of padded cycling shorts and apply Drapolene nappy rash cream to my nether regions before commencing a ride. I've also tried various saddles and saddle positions, chamois cream and other various lotions and potions, but Drapolene seems to work best. After looking at the comments above, I'll try applying coconut oil and see if that works.
  2. According to THAI's own website, their fleet currently consists of 43 aircraft plus another 20 for Thai Smile, taking the total fleet size to 63. Prior to the pandemic, the airline had been operating six Airbus A380s as well as nine Boeing 747-400s. All of these large aircraft were sent into storage over the course of 2020 and it looks like they will be permanently retired. In addition, pre-pandemic, the airline also had a fleet of 15 A330-300s with an average age of 11 years with some of these being very young aircraft. Not sure what's going to happen to these aircraft but I don't think think they are operation, nor do they form of THAI's fleet on the website. So it looks like THAI's pre-pandemic fleet has decreased by a total of 30 aircraft.
  3. Also check fan for dirt/out of balance. Also check for loose screws on casing and fan shroud.
  4. I have successfully registered my condo with Immigration and have received a username and password. When my friends come to stay, I will submit their TM30 online. When I have input the required information, am I correct in thinking that I should just click on the "save" button and the information will be sent to Immigration? Will I receive some kind of receipt so my friends can show this when they extend their visas at immigration? Any information would be gratefully received.

  6. Thai AirAsia is using all 55 planes that it currently has available. Interesting that Thai Airways' fleet is now less than 50 planes (excluding Thai Smile). None of their 4-engine planes are being used. So Thai AirAsia is currently the largest airline in Thailand, in terms of fleet size.
  7. I got my last licence in Cha-am...took 45mins. Much quicker than the. 5 hours I had to endure in Nonthaburi.
  8. I used my VPN via the Asia server and it worked OK as well.
  9. They were having a problem their Asia server. They worked out a fix while they were working on the problem (see attachment). I've just been on Pulse and it seems the server problem has been fixed.
  10. You could buy the replacement rattan on Shopee and try and do it yourself. I did. Was a bit of a struggle but I managed to mend a couple of chairs. https://shopee.co.th/Flat-Synthetic-Rattan-for-Knit-and-Repair-Chair-Table-Storage-Basket-EBIU-i.527826217.11655565365
  11. I was at that game in Bilbao as well. Went by train to Bilbao, then hitched a ride with some England fans to Madrid for the next round. Happy days.
  12. Because I have PR, my name is in a blue housebook (tabien bahn).
  13. I renewed my pink ID card today and they wanted to see my passport, residence book, alien book and tabien baan. My wife went with me and they wanted a signed copy of her ID as well. Luckily, I had brought everything along and my new card was issued in 15mins. Expires in 10 years’ time because I’m not over 60.!
  14. For the last 7 years, I have picked up trash on the bike lane in Hua Hin, between soi 91 and Khao Tao. The first pass took me four years because there was so much trash. Now, it's just a maintenance job but it still takes three weeks for one pass. I reckon I've picked up more than 7 tonnes over 7 years.
  15. I have PR and my pink ID card expires later this month. Does anyone know what documents are required to renew it?
  16. Yes...very tedious. I use ebay now and again and pay via Paypal. Not any more.
  17. I recently visited the UK and needed my Thai SIM to receive OTPs etc. I also needed a UK SIM for Internet. So I took two phones - one with my Thai SIM card and one for a UK SIM card that I bought. It was too much hassle...much easier to by a DTAC international roaming package (see picture). I am now in Australia and am using my my Thai SIM card via an international roaming package.
  18. I changed from chlorine to saltwater in 2006. It was a pain in the bum...I went through 3 salt cells and had to put salt in at least once a week. I gave up in 2020 and went back to chlorine.
  19. Looks like they spent their money wisely! "Today, the DSI handed over assets worth about 230 million baht, seized from the investment company and its alleged ring leader, Apirak Kotethi, to the Anti-Money Laundering Office for safe keeping, before it is returned to the victims of the scam. The assets consist of 173 items which include 14 cars, 12 land title deeds, 11 go-karts, 9 expensive car number plates, wristwatches, 54 sets of fitness equipment and gold ornaments."
  20. Have to agree. Have lived in Thailand for 32 years and went back to the UK in July. The UK seems so frantic and angry these days, and the traffic is terrible, which is rather ironic considering Thailand's traffic problems. I was happy when I landed back in BKK.
  21. Good idea. But many drownings are of children aged between 5 and 15 who are allowed by their parents/guardians to play near water with no supervision. The children can't swim and, surprise, surprise they drown. Drowning is the most common cause of death in this age group. https://theaseanpost.com/article/drowning-still-huge-problem-thai-kids
  22. Ah good point. I got my last endorsement in Dec 2019, just before Covid hit. So I never went abroad using that endorsement...maybe that's why they have to cancel it because I never used it.
