You can get some idea of jobs and the pay by looking at recruitment websites, she would need to be fluent in english for any decent paying job
eg https://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/production-engineer-jobs-in-southampton
-
As above, use Line or Facebook, these seem the preferred method you should get an answer with a few minutes, i gave up on email ages ago, no one seems to ever reply

i thought the idea was 4 new categories being looked at in addition to the existing retirement visas, though you do need health insurance, and elsewhere they mention it is 80 000 a year, 40 000 dollars a year is not exactly a wealthy person.

Only vaccinations from approved sources ie uk, Europe and USA, it is not only the vaccine that is the issue, fraud, bogus certificates etc etc, means until Thailand or other countries can meet this criteria(the proof will need to be accessible by border force ie computer held records that are trustworthy., you will have to isolate at home.

Here's a related question.
What is the most reliable, secure, assured, best way to stay in Thailand long term if am married to a Thai and am retired and intend to stay for the rest of your life?
The non-immigration O and O-A visa extensions are options, but are only valid one year per extension. The new retirement visas mentioned a few months ago sound interesting in that they might be valid for 10 years. The non-immigration O-X already offers that. But what happens after 10 years.
After 10 years. you will need to apply either again for an O-X (if they are still available), be aware the insurance needed for an o-x is only available from 2 or 3 Thai companies , unlike the O- A which has many more options.

Unfortunately some slightly dodgy advice here, such as;
If he is not charged by Bangkok Bank it means that Lloyds did the conversion at a poor rate.
If he was charged by Bangkok Bank it means that it was sent in Pounds and Bangkok Bank did the conversion at their TT rate and took up to 500 baht.
So also send in Pounds and let the Thai bank do the conversion or use something like WISE as suggested.
Though do reply to questions asked as there might be other things to be considered.
Rubbish, you have no idea,

On another topic, haven't been vaxxed and don't plan to be just yet. As far as I'm aware, having the vaccination is not mandatory to enter the Kingdom but if it becomes so, then that's the route I'll be forced to take.
Vaccination is only required if using the sandbox option, ASQ in bangkok or ALQ in Pattaya do not require vaccination

The 7 year rule is for Inheritance tax only, when it comes to care fees there is no time limit , the piece below was taken from, robert barber solicitors, you need to get professional help with this, to avoid falling into issues later.
can I gift my house to my children to avoid care home fees?”
You may well be seen as intentionally depriving yourself of an asset by the authorities. People usually wish to transfer ownership to family members because they believe that in the event that they go into residential or nursing care the house will not be counted for the purpose of calculating how much of their care home fees they would have to pay themselves. The local authority usually sees this as you deliberately reducing your assets so as to qualify for state funded care and they have the discretion to refuse to pay for your care because of this.

It is now a requirement to give details of any other passports/
8.1 The United Kingdom places no restrictions on the ability of a British citizen to hold dual nationality. The passport application gathers information about other passports held for security purposes alone and it does not provide dual citizenship information to the country of origin. Therefore, disclosure of an existing passport or ability to apply for a passport issued by another country is necessary and relevant to the UK passport application and issuing process.
Section 8.3 also states that it is a criminal offense not to disclose other passports
I believe that the names have to match in both passports, there was quite an issue with this a few years back. caught lots of people out when renewing passports.

Seems like he is thinking of ILR which is lost after being out the UK 2 years, the 2,5 or 10 years visit visa is valid for the period you have been granted

If there's a four month waiting list for the car the other dealers will be in exactly the same position. When the demand for a particular car is so high that there's orders and a waiting list the last thing that will happen is the offer of a discount.
Correct, we looked at the cross back in March, they all said no delivery til at least June, there was very little discount(a few thousand baht), with a waiting list of people willing to pay the do not need to discount at the moment

@howerdeBecause you basically get 2-year temp license on renewal if you are on an elite visa. And I've heard a lot of elite-visa people getting 2-year temp visa on renewal... But things are different in Chiang Mai... So that's why. is your visa an elite visa?
No not elite, i was not aware that your visa type dictated length of driving license at renewal, you never stop learning

Guppies are a great starter fish, males are colorful and swim a lot (they are also cheap) i have a tank of them in a room without aircon most of the time, the temp in my tanks shows around 29-30 deg, they are also very tolerant of dirty water(should you forget water changes), as someone said you can buy a clip on fan cheaply for aquariums, that will reduce the temp a few deg,

As of 27 Jun Eva Air have direct flights every Fri Lhr-Bkk, at least It's a start

Lloyds bank have no limit on what you send from a branch, internet banking/ the app you can send 100 000 pounds daily, i sent money to my Bangkok bank using the app, i thought there would be issues as i sent a similar amount to yours there were non, the charge was 9.50 from lloyds and no fees from Bangkok bank, i looked and sending through a 3rd party, but the difference was negligible
