Whereby it is required you are a tax resident in SG, or any other country.

Just an example, you have under 22k SGD income in SG, paid from anywhere, interest, investment, whatsoever. This is the current threshhold for not being taxed. You could still declare this in SG and pay no tax, even though they tell you not to do it. The Thais now want you to tax on that, because you sent all of it into your Thai bank account. They still could not get a single cent of it as it falls under the double tax agreement. If you would not have declared it in SG, TH may take its stake.

I believe its illegal now to drill for water. Unless you wear uniform.

It's good if they really offer FCD accounts now in CM, 2...3 years ago they refused it. I do my banking with them in BKK, Suk 4 branch, and they always have been extremely helpful. Even managed to close a fixed deposit at UOB Singapore for me.

Yes, that may be the reason, the lady at the DLT told me only she could give me the temporary 2 years with the pink card, so I used the passport, does not matter anyway.

Yes, they do, but do not use the pink card. Should not matter for registering a vehicle, but you get only a "temporary" 2 years driver license with it, not 5 years.

That's an optimistic list, particular point 4, in light of recent news from the tourism minister.

TM30 is only when you travel abroad. The hotel however may do this for you anyway and the address record may get screwed up. Normally that would be covered by a TM28.

Better to let your wife/GF/whatever check in for you and stay in the background. Or use a driver license or pink ID, not your passport, so you have.

Uber often does not accept credit cards, had the happen a couple of times in BKK. The app already refuses the booking by CC.

Look, I've asked UOB directly to open a FCD in Chiang Mail, they could not do it. Only result was a call to their own hotline which then referred to UOB BKK. Even in BKK only a few branches deal with FCDs, one is the Suk 4 branch in the Motorola building. But you can keep looking on websites :)

Which bank can open a foreign currency account in CM? I tried UOB, Standard Chartered, Islamic Bank, SCB, CIMB

(SC is gone now, they closed business in CM).

Bank is good if you transfer in foreign currency into a foreign currency account and change when the time is right. I think they can only do this in BKK though. If you have the money here in cash, go to Superrich.
