I think we're all missing the point of this proposal.  If you are in the mobile phone industry, then a proposal that could force all tourists to buy a particular SIM card plan is a good money spinner.

Nobody buys a SIM, they come for free and are already registered because you need to show some ID for the last 2...3 years. So this is all just for tin hats.

BBC picked it up already, so did some other international media in the western hemisphere where people are concerned about such things. Much damage done here as always from autocrats, even though it is not only technically impossible to implement such things properly.

  2. Complete rubbish. You can have a lease, usufruct or superficies legally in your name. No need for a lawyer, friend, friends of friends or lawyers, or fake companies. On that leased land in whatever form you can build and own your property.

  3. Thailand is cheap, not clean or nice. Chiang Mai in Thailand is one of the cheaper, not cleaner places. So that all makes sense. I like it here. Because it is cheap smile.png

Don't come much cheaper or any cleaner than this (except during the burning season). Central Isaan, Loeiattachicon.gifimage.jpeg

<deleted> is cheap there? Can't even get a Chang! :D

  4. Had a broken down Daikin in the house in BKK. Aircon guy we use for a while, who recommended strongly against Samsung, LG and Haier, offered to reinstall a brand new 18kBTU "Central Air" for 20kTHB. Did so and so far no complaints. Haven't seen it myself yet though. Supposedly they use Mitsubishi parts, but there is not much information to be found online. For that price incl. installation dirt cheap and beats the Korean ones.

Wow now there's a thread on its own " diffrence in price for same product throughout Thailand. I have exactly the same here in KK installation included 18k Btu as yours 14500 wow

Their cost price before discount is in the lower 20k range without installation for a new unit. 14.5k is a fantastic deal if it was really a 18kBTU new unit. But what would be more interesting if they really use Mitsubishi parts.
