  1. . In the States the bigger pet stores have engraving machines. You chose a metal tag (dozens to chose from, some bone-shaped, of course), pay for it, then take it to the machine and engrave on both sides. On one side I engraved JING, the other the word REWARD and my cell number. Living rural, I'd like a second tag in Thai, of course, so my question is has anyone seen these machines in LOS? If not, has anyone knowledge of where I could take the tag to an engraver, like a jeweler perhaps?
  2. . I know I've read the peer-reviewed science on this somewhere....
  3. . We are doomed..... Scientific studies show it should be 74.6594%.
  4. . “Smart Control and Living with COVID-19” I have lived with covid for 18 months now, and have yet to see it....but sure have read a lot about it.
  5. . No offense taken. I will check out your links. Just that I bought her almost 50 years ago and she has been faithful to me since, and I'd miss her. (Don't hear that from too many guys in LOS, huh?)
  6. . NC as in numerically controlled? Where would I find such a fraternity, please?
  7. . After all these years on Thai Visa..... I finally found a use for the IGNORE feature.
  8. . The receiver might very well fall into that category, though I doubt the turntable will.
  9. . Thanks. Problem is those only convert voltage, not cycles. Might make Linda Rondstat sound like James Taylor. I'll have to dig it out of storage and look at the back of it, like Salerno suggested.
  10. Back in the States temporarily to sell everything that's been in storage for years, returning to LOS next month. But, I have a 1974 Pioneer receiver and turntable that I bought in college. Not a scratch. They look almost new and still work fine. I can't bear to sell them. Is there a relatively inexpensive device I could use to transform Thai electric to American electric. If so, buy here, or there? Thanks.
  11. . Suddenly felt exhausted after just the first few paragraphs..... Time for another pot of coffee.
  12. The dog is 5 years old, plenty of life left, and a husky would be easy to adopt out in LOS. Start a new "adoption" post on this forum and add some photos. You can also go to the Petbacker website and find people in LOS who board dogs. There are many in BKK who have wonderful environments (big houses and high-walled yards) who take exceptional care of dogs, all of whom get to play together (she might actually lose some weight, extending her life). They might be willing to adopt, or you could long-term board. Prices are 300 baht a day up, but you might well find someone who will offer a price break for such a lengthy time.
  13. Thanks everyone, good info. This will not be an impulse buy; lots of diligence due. To each his own. Anyone who is a proponent of line-drying please stop by my house every Saturday at 10:45 a.m. (sharp) and feel free to hang my laundry. I will be harvesting from my garden for lunch, or peacefully drinking coffee on my back porch. Return at noon to remove clothing, place in basket. Oh, and please leave the clothes clips. I have an old deck of cards and I'll clip them onto the bikes of the neighborhood kids.
  14. Going to be buying a washer-dryer. LG, Samsung, or Electrolux. Considering the all-in-one front-loading models as they save space, but not sure if there are compromises. Anyone here tried them? Happy or regretful? Pros/cons? Why? I have to say I grew up with mechanical knobs which lasted decades, not LED sensor touch control panels which I don't have a lot of faith in, so maybe there is something better than the front loaders. Just don't want the cheapo level of top loaders.
  15. Extensive damage to Pattaya Beach today from morning rains. What, did the rain wash all the trash into the sea?
  16. . No, not the whole world.... Just its mis-leaders.
