  1. Pratumnak to bukow nose to tail traffic. Nothing new there then. Had to dodge a few pickups and 3 roadside wet stations.time to stock up the fridge!

Yeah, traffic North-/South-end is horrific with hundreds of buses loading & unloading wherever they feel like. This is prof. city-planning Thai style. :-)

    Have a nice week. MS>

  2. Seems there are much fewer infantile farangs playing water this year / so far, no need to mention specific nationalities, we don't want to generalize :-)

BUT, just back from Soi Post office area and the Chinese & Indians seem to have discovered this fun-week here in Pattaya. Large groups of them, armed with the regular guns, roaming the Sois and screaming their hearts out. At least they seem to act much less aggressive and vulgar then the Bouakao water-crowd. Some progress....:-) Enjoy....MS>

  3. Only did a quick walk-through. Not a mall-guy anyway, but was disappointed. Looks like one of the medium class, older Philippines malls.

The only mall that I felt was "something special" is TERMINAL 21 in BKK. The Pattaya version might be the new place to go soon. :-) MS>

  4. clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif 100% right. We could talk endlessly about this. I can only make small contributions. No plastic bags or extra packaging used. Turning of bike when on red. Picking up trash and trying to educate the ignorants, which feels like pushing sh.t up a hill :-) etc.

Ref. your remarks about the Gulf....On a recent cruise to the Bangpakong river near BKK, we had to literally detour 5 or 6 miles around a HUGE island of garbage, floating in the sea. Incredible sight, that showed on radar even.

I witnessed the destruction of Samui, Samet and numerous other beautiful places here and often ask myself, <deleted> am I still doing here? Why would people even come to vacation here anymore. But then again, they probably have not known the real beauty of Thailand 25 years ago. Sad..Guess when we get older we start reflecting more on such subjects...Good night. MS>

  5. This is fiber-wallpaper, that gets painted. Has been around for 20 years and I use it often. Covers nicely average rendering, looks great and is so hard, but flexible that it can hardly be damaged and last forever. Not all that cheap, so many don't even consider. Usually sold in specialized paint shops. Was hoping anybody had another option, as my regular shop ran out and I got a remodel going. THX> Maybe we get lucky overnight. Regards. MS>

  6. If you need a dermatologist with tons of experience and caring about her patients, go see Dr. Anna BPH. Explain her, that you have to pay out of pocket and she will certainly treat you fair. As a private hospital, prices will be higher, than in a public one, but this is just the norm anywhere in the world. I would rather save a few bucks in a bar and get the best possible Dr. working on me, had I no insurance or was short of cash. You can google Dr. Anna and will find mostly very strong recommendations. Best of luck and get well soon. And yes, o.c. if you don't have a medically prescribed treatment plan, don't self-medicate. MS>

  7. Prednisolone tablets were available freely in most pharmacies very cheap, usually 1 mg. A friend used to get for a serious skin condition across from Lek Hotel, right top side of Soi Diamond, several on Soi Bouakao. Give it a try. I assume you know how to use this medication, which indeed is no candy :-) Otherwise Banglamung or City Hospital. Good luck. MS>

  8. A complete nuisance. Drivers at snail-speed in middle of the road without the slightest respect or concern for anybody else on the road. Erratic stopping, turning. Fumes and smoke that add even more to the polluted holiday-air. Dumping garbage & more into the drains to add to the famous Pattaya-perfume. Doing business in the most moronic locations etc. etc.

Have a look at the end of the Soi behind Avenue towards 3rd. Rd. or many other locations, where they prepare their food for the night shift around 16.00 onward under horrific conditions and "Bon Appetit".

There is no excuse for this in a "modern" already traffic overloaded city like Pattaya. Even the BIB must have started realizing and are chasing them to the back-roads, which now fills the Sois and Bouakao with hundreds of them. There must be a reason why BKK has and is setting up dedicated selling point/areas. Just part of Pattaya's lovely & respectful Thainess. Sorry, used to enjoy Pattaya. Certainly less & less these days. And yes, I still feel sorry for these poor Isaan people that have no other way to survive and make a living and yes, I still smile at them....Ain't their fault that Thailand provides first class education and opportunities for it's people :-)..>generations to go.... Had a rough day.....THX. MS>

  9. Personally speaking best to pay the granite shop across from Makro on Sukhumvit. They can do it correctly and expertly for far less than you can purchase the correct supplies.

They did all my custom granite tops and had them had them make bookshelfs with my ( waste) scraps.

Thank you all. Tough find it seems...:-) MS>

  10. Dear all:

Looking to find granite grinding pads. I need the whole range from very rough to grind down larger chunks/areas and the full polishing range.

Have tried every DIT, Hardware House, small hardware shops and a bunch of granite shops. The shops sent me to Hardware House, which has just limited choice and nothing on the rough side.

Any advise much appreciated. Good night. MS>

  11. I am presently looking to buy a large condo min. 100-140 sqm or even a house in Central Pattaya. Remodel-project welcome. I wrote to 10 real-estate offices, picked randomly from the internet, with details of the type of place I am looking for.

The only acknowledgement or feedback I received were 2 offices sending me their website addresses, without any extra efforts to make a couple of suitable offers or invite for a talk in their offices. Wow, they should go and learn from Pro's in the USA....They must be swamped with buyers, so there is no need for them to please potential customers. Pattaya mediocrity. Still searching....:-) MS>
