  1. Please ... you Farang posters. Stop this silliness blaming the Thai government for floods. Every country has floods. Look at Colorado in the US; look at the yearly firestorms in California; look at New Orleans. As I recall. you can see floods in 1942 with rowboats at Victory Monument. Bangkok is built on a mud flat, a flood plain. It's mother nature, not the government.

    Thank you...

Too much commonsense in that TG

Most of these posters are looking for something to moan about and to vent their hatred of the PM and all things Thaksin.

Somehow, the descriptions of situations, any situation, are more dire on TV than they are in reality.

Goes with the forum, i suppose.

I've been flooded out a few times in the last few years, before you ask.............................

    Flooded out?

Did you sit there believing all the government propaganda or move your possessions upstairs?

Did what any normal person does, made the house and factory as safe as we could, moved what we could, prepared as best we could and then started drinking beer............

What else can you do ???

    And the propaganda ???

    It's all under control

    Nothing to worry about

    Splendid

  4. I only ever passed a maths exam once in my high school days and was accused of cheating so imagine my pleasure at pointing out the maths teacher had counted up my marks wrongly !

Anyway the point of this is that even with my limited abiliity I have figured out the government is approaching the end of its second year in office yet only now is producing a report on the first year.

I'm sure all of us can advance good reasons as to why it has taken so long but I'm surprised as lying comes naturally here.

The thing is that the first year was bleeding useless and the second year totally diabolical.

In releasing the report a year late the first year will look good against the second

    Master stroke

  5. I suppose every rainy season is different, there is going to be some flooding but why is year after year that things dont get better, why does no one seem to learn anything? You have a plan, how did it work? Anything we could have done better? Have a new plan A  with back ups.

Somebody must have been in charge of whats going on, if they cant do the job get someone who can and by the way there are other counties who have to deal with large amounts of water ever thought of seeking advice?

Hastily building a sandbag wall alone the river east of Nakhon Sawan central today, looked bob a job week!

thais are reactive and not proactive

I've always found them to be more "inactive"

  6. I'm sure if Farangs were in charge the rains would stop.....blink.png

Cos in Farang countries we never have flooding do we, cos we Farangs know better, yeah right...

I take it you've never been to Holland?

Flash floods are one thing. Seasonal floods are another.

Being prepared for seasonal floods should be simple. The government should be ready. It should also be honest. This government borrowed 350 billion in 2011 and spent pretty much zero since. Do you see any data on river levels and flow rates? Intelligent warnings of where will be flooded? Hotlines of who to call? No - it's all Dad's Army
