  1. Sure. However the reality is that travesty remains and heads won't roll. TIT.
  2. News about this starting to feel like reading the same joke every day week after week. Everyone effectively knows how the story in the joke went so getting kind of boring. This is how things work in banana states like Thailand, like it or not.
  3. He certainly will say her fault as she not using burkha in public area
  4. Getting set up to compete with SpaceX?
  5. The day prostitution is over in Pattaya, a lot of guys will have sleepless nights in hunting the extinct species!
  6. Fellow officers scolding him undercutting the market with 500 baht.
  7. 555 look forward to see the 'plan' In reality bigger problem than cheap substandard import products is that many thai products are of low quality and still expensive, overpriced compared what similar stuff is in other markets. Decent quality market priced import products certainly attract customers over the overpriced low quality local ones.
  8. Thailand indeed has some seriously innovation ability in the business system area. Two specific sub-areas show remarkable capabilities at world class level, namely scamming business system and goverment corruption business system innovation.
  9. Transit passenger is clear to everyone I think. AOT chief was talking about transit flights and was wondering how he defines those.
  10. The most irritating thing in BKK is when you come to immigration, either arriving or leaving, and you see long queues of passengers, and substantial percentage of immigration counters unstaffed. The absolute waiting time may not be any longer on average vs other main airports, however it just irritating to wait in queue in such situation, and makes the whole airport operation feel like being run by idiots not caring about their cash-bringing visitors. Other that that, I agree bkk is okay.
  11. This is exactly the challenge to increase PERCENTAGE of 'transit flights' when primary target remains to bring cash spending tourists to Thailand. Sure there is and has always been transit passengers, I was one of the frequent ones of them for 20yrs when working in the region. However that is different from airlines counting on business to bkk being driven by transit passengers.
  12. ... And how do you define a flight being or not being in the 'transit category'?
  13. Look forward to see the cable installations in local nuclear plant. And see how they mix concrete with half of steel and cement stolen. Observe it all from other side of the planet.
  14. I see, that seems to be the way to get the maintenance working in decent manner. My neighbor have couple of condos in different buildings (as investment). One of them is older, not very luxurious looking externally, but the maintenance and upkeep work very well and building is kept in good shape. They have own staff, and lucky to have found office person who manages it all. Another one is nicer place by immediate appearance, however regardless of few changes in maintenance provider, upkeep is not good. Staff come and go, simple repairs take time (if get done at all), staff members just play phones.
  15. ... And who is the maintenance provider? Or self managed?
  16. Probably same thai project management logic as with roadworks in Pattaya City: first dig open all streets . Then start fix and fill the diggings slowly one by one with limited resources and budgets that may stop for a while several times before the whole job is complete. So start clean all tanks simultaneously instead of one by one, keeping water supply uninterrupted. In the meantime the team doing the job have some other urgent (better paying) jobs. Unless condo management /committee insists on detailed plan and it's approval prior to starting the work, 99.9% sure something will go wrong... TIT.
  17. Have you heard of such? Mind to share if you have?
  18. Some years ago I did some cable installations to my house. Bought 1.5mm2 cable and looking at it, it looked thin compared to what I thought 1.5mm2 cable looked like back home. Measured and clearly it was not 1. 5mm2 regardless of the marking in the cable Thai labeling 1.5mm2 has different meaning than international standard 1.5mm2.
  19. Mama sent 16yo daughter to work in Pattaya? More likely than not mamas/aunties know exactly how things go - including the money coming home. What happens when money stops coming, for whatever reason
  20. Probably many different reasons just like for other nationalities. Chinese and Russians who have funds they can move outside of their country are buying property in many countries for the simple reason of not keeping all eggs in one basket, esp not in their home country where one day all they have could be taken away. Even if property value here goes down it is still better than loosing everything. And as someone who has lived in China for well over a decade, easy to understand they move to thailand if they can arrange their life here in a way that it works for them
  21. TAT. Possibly the Thai soft power committee. As they do care, does not matter what everyone else thinks. Thus world class it is
  22. ... Probably all would be better off if they would have transferred all the areas where Malays/Muslims were dominant. End result of not doing it along ethnic/religious lines are well visible thwree (as well as in many other places elsewhere too)
  23. World's oldest profession indeed creates timeless appeal. Literally.
  24. Goverment not controlling it now (and since it was established)?? Just smoke and mirrors around a bit.
