Yes; they were blocking the sea view according to the cops. -
No point joining the navy if you can't bang a girl in every port you visit.

They have training? Who knew. -
Interesting article in today's Bangkok Post's Spotlight supplement about Russians and Ukranians in Bali who are there to escape the war back home and are all sharing a co-working space, apartment blocks, cafes and restaurants. The Indonesian Government is keen to help them to stay including assistance to extend their visas.

I had the same problem with my TV. I took the plug out and put it back in a minute later. Bingo!!! Works with computers too.

Some vlogs talking about rumours that Treetown will soon be no more: to be demolished to make way for a condo project.

No first hand knowledge but am very reliably informed that these 2 are good: Beerfest at Avenue Mall, ground level. Wizard, very close by on Soi 14. Both places sell small bottles for about 140 Baht.

The scenes at Immigration are quite a contrast to how Covid vaccinations were organised. I had 2 jabs at Central Festival on Beach Rd and a booster at Royal Garden Plaza. On all 3 occasions the process was completed in about an hour, 15 minutes of which was sitting in an area to ensure no bad reaction to the vaccine. The organisation was excellent, staff were polite, helpful, pleasant and completely professional. My point is that there can be good organisation and service at Immigration with the planning and will to do so.

About 5 years ago less than 5% of Chinese had passports, so less than 70 million which is still an awful lot but nowhere near 226 million.

Bought myself some 100% cotton undies at Marks and Spencer last week, made in Bangladesh. I would check their shirts and shorts, floor 2 in Central Festival, Beach Rd. Get yourself a One Card to have a discount applied. During the last 12 months I have bought some 100% cotton shorts from Big C Extra on Klang. Made in Thailand too, Belsico brand, cheaper than M&S. I am sure they do cotton shirts too; I have a couple in my wardobe which I think are from there.

I am not sure the majority of countries have imposed sanctions on Russia anyway. It is "western" nations including some NATO countries ( not Turkiye). I don't see sanctions from South American, African or Asian nations, the majority of the world in terms of population

I have had a couple of meals recently at Bella Italia on Second Rd opposite the Runway night time food market. Good, affordable food with plenty of choice and very good service. They are very busy just now; long may it continue.

I was on a baht bus yesterday and witnessed a group of Russians being harangued by a European guy speaking English, calling Putin an a**hole and questioning why ordinary Russians didn't rise up and throw the tyrant out. A Russian guy who spoke English tried to calmly diffuse the situation, to no avail, and the Russians got off the bus more, I think, just to extricate themselves from the situation. Do people think it a good idea to question aggresively any Russians they come accross? I wouldn't do so but I apply that approach to all regardless of nationaloty.

“No new visas for Chinese citizens applying in Phuket” – visa agent
champers replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
The 3 generals in the story are based at Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai, report today's Bangkok Post. 3325 Chinese nationals had visas approved between 2020 and 2022 at a cost of 100,000 to 300,000 Baht per non-immigrant visa. Not everyone struggled financially during Covid, it seems. -
Maybe funds have run out. When is the financial year in Thailand?

When Will All These Annoying Tourists <deleted> Off ?
champers replied to NickyLouie's topic in Pattaya
More likely to fill it if you ask me. Saw a young Russian couple pushing baby in a pushchair along Pattaya prom today. It beats the hell out of being chilled to the bone in a trench waiting for Ukranian shells to land. -
