  1. I don't know where it is that you shop and eat, but so glad that it's not the same places where I go since I never experience all these terrible problems that you have.
  2. Why do we have two identical threads on this subject running in parallel? Here is the other one Hello administrators?
  3. I am not sure. Only too often we read of deadly accidents involving foreigners, such as the unfortunate canadian cyclist yesterday. e.g., if I read today's numbers: Road accident report 20/6/2022 55 deaths and 3,222 injuries 85% of deaths were motorcyclists 1 child died 2 foreigners died 1 pedestrian died We have to scale things by the number foreigners/Thais, which is of course not 50/50. 2 foreigners out of 55 is ~4%, which compared to the number of foreigners on the road is not just "mostly Thais". But of course this is just one day, someone more perseverant than me might dig out more solid statistics.
  4. I asked if the "new" branch will also provide immigration letters as until now at KSK where I have my fixed deposit, she said yes. I don't know that any branch can do that - I doubt it but I may be wrong.
  5. Pump prices are going through the roof yes (except Diesel which is subsidized), but 54?? Did you mean 45?
  6. See previous about BKB. About sales and discounts in KSK: today it was madness, people like ants around the sugar. But actually, only the stores closing for good had good offers. TOPS, being just one branch of a chain, will simply move their goods around, no special offers that I could see. Bata: I suspect that 70% sign has been there since KSK was inaugurated. Well anyway they never have my size.
  7. I went today to ask about this. They told me ALL accounts for all customers will be moved to the BKB branch near Thanin Market. We should receive soon a letter with the info. Apart from the bank postal address, nothing will change in terms of acc. numbers, online access, types of services. Unfortunately, it seems that the current KSK branch staff could be disbanded to different locations. Pity because they were pretty good IMO.
  8. OP wants to extend, meaning he/she already has it. Since there is no such thing as a retirement visa, I'd say he/she is talking about a retirement extension. You seem new on this forum, welcome, please be assured that we have heard this comment a zillion times.
  9. Best wishes for the outcome of your operation! @OneMoreFaranggave you a good hint.
  10. Did not expect that, kudos! This said, "space" is already a giant mess with tiny artificial objects and debris, I hope the can-sized satellites do not proliferate.
  11. I am glad, they are a great team and they are doing their country proud. Not just with their skills, but with a pleasant attitude as well, always happy and smiling after a successul volley, while some other teams are always stone-faced even when they score. I look forward to cheering them in the next games.
  12. You are absolutely right, I don't know what the tourists are thinking going to a beach in Thailand without first taking a course on how to handle packs of stray dogs. Three or four lessons, maybe with you as a teacher, and then they are good to hit the sand. It's easy. Jeez.
  13. This thread is running right now and lists what you need to know. Re-entry can be obtained right after you get the extension, fill the form, don't forget to bring an extra picture, and the cash (1000/3900 I think, for single/multiple).
  14. If it's worth the money to you, then it's all that matters. But I don't get the part about avoiding immigration visits and IOs, surely you still have to be there in person.
  15. Your money, your choice, no criticism from me. However I want to note that "all the stories of what went wrong" never happened to me. Also CM. If I have my papers ready, and I do not act confrontational, the IO is happy with me and I am happy with them, year after year. Last two years I have been using the online appointment system, really quick, in and out in 20 minutes.
  16. If you care to go out, there are indeed lots of tourists. Here in CM you see since months a definite increase in young western tourists, yes with mask. Second but obvious, a good number of Singaporeans and Malays. And when I was transiting at Suvarnabhumi a few days ago, impressive (to be kind) numbers of Indians on flights to Phuket. Also, my flight from Europe was 100% booked and many were mixed western-thai couples, I don't know if you want to count them as tourists but they are indeed arrivals. We are of course far from the crazy pre-covid numbers, good for me, and it will stay so until the Chinese resume travelling.
  17. Really, Dr. Doom? Sorry, I couldn't resist! btw, very sorry about your GR dog.
  18. Does it have to be near the airport? find a nice safe spot anywhere in town, from there it's 200B by grab and it will leave you just at the entrance. Most parking spots at the airport require a long walk, which may not be ideal with luggage or in rain.
  19. That, or you could actually switch off the computer and take a look outside.
  20. I suspect that by research you mean sit at a computer asking google to find articles, posts, blogs and vlogs. You know very well that in this way you will find exactly the answers that you want to hear. Talking to the few non-vaxxers that I know has been like talking to religious fanatics. They probably think the same of me. But we are digressing. The perfect answer to the OP was given by @EricTh
