  1. The man is a pig, agree. He forced himself on many non-willing women, yes or very likely. And I agree with your conclusion. But don't generalize too quickly. There were also women who knew that their only talent in the film industry was their body, and accepted his offers, some for rather long periods. What the romans called "Quid pro quo". I have one particular actress in mind, who by her own account disclosed that there was no forced sex but rather consensual, carried on for years. Finally when even her body was not a hot currency anymore she jumped ship and was a leader of the metoo movement.
  2. Well, if your opening statement "Sriphat is a very modern building and is home to somewhere in excess of 100 specialists, all of whom are associate and assistant professors....the range of medical talent there is very impressive." referred to Sriphat IPD, then I have to conclude what we live in 2 different Chiang Mai's in parallel universes. Nothing could be more far from the Sriphat IPD that I know. Have a good day.
  3. Many downsides in modern technology I agree, but if there's something that technology allows is exactly the preservation of old records and memories, you can in fact easily search for images of what you describe and see for yourself even if you were not around at least not in Thailand. And frankly, I am not sure that I want to see every woman topless, just as much as they don't really want to see me bare chest. Some women's apparel are in fact much sexier than the real thing, as proven by their price tag.
  4. To make sure, you are talking about Sriphat OPD, the new building at the end of Sirimangakalaja (sp). I concur with you, excellent place. The original Sriphat, now IPD, is however a decrepit old building with inferior services for specialist visits. I am surprised you had surgery at the new building, because I thought that (as OPD implies) they don't have overnight rooms. Unless it was a simple procedure and they sent you home the same day. I have no experience about the OP request. I would like to mention however that Bangkok Hospital CM is at least at the same level as the new Sriphat, actually in my experience better, although pricey. Both Sriphat OPD and BHCM offer packages of full tests tailored for seniors.
  5. I guess it depends on where you are/which hospital. I do it (for medical reasons) at RAM Hospital in CM, 270B, face only. They apply a kind of gel, 7 minutes, you wash it off. It requires prescription.
  6. Are you living here? If not, as it is clear from your generally misinformed posts, why do you want to relocate? FYI, the fires are in CM province, which is the largest province in Thailand. Not in CM city, and in fact the air in the past few days has been -far from good, granted- quite breathable. But to your partial excuse I have to admit that the article is intentionally misleading.
  7. It depends on the kind of blood test. If they told you that, best follow their instructions. If you want(ed) to argue, then better find out first exactly what tests they are going to carry out.
  8. If you fancy a drive to Airport Plaza in CM, next to it there is a huge GO Wholesale which has no shortage of the ingredients you are looking for. It is a bit like Makro, except with very little queues at cashier and better food (IMO).
  9. I see your TIT and I raise TIUK, TIUS, TID, TIF, TIB, TIRU, ... and a hundred more.
  10. Both official taxis and grab-like drivers know exactly what is going on. get whichever you prefer, allow for 30min more than usual just in case. There are ways to go from Warorot to Airport avoiding the moat, Huay Kaew, Nimman. e.g. heading to B11, direction of Promenada, then easy splash-free main road towards Airport Plaza. I expect the airport itself to be actually rather quiet since all Songkran arrivals have already happened and departures not yet.
  11. You seem to look for a professional, not just a shop doing portrait pictures, right? Check out this, he is established in CM since many years and author of photography books https://albertocosi.com/portrait-photography-chiang-mai/
  12. Perhaps you should inform yourself before posting. In CM province, the subject of this thread, the "big agra" and farm fires are close to zero. It is almost exclusively forest fires, and if you lived here you would know that local and central government have done more this year than in any year of the past decade. You would also know that firefighters have an almost impossible job due to the terrain, and are often confronted by angry local villagers when they try to apprehend the fire starters. They are true heroes, not just opinionated keyboard warriors like some on this forum.
  13. Scooters can drive through, I did it several times. btw, people on foot have the same rights as people in cars. If the agent brought 6 people in a van, wouldn't it be the same issue?
  14. What do you mean AI image? That is the Crab Nebula, a supernova remnant which btw being about 6000 light years away is related to the article like a picture of tom yum is related to an article on Icelandic cuisine.
  15. I was at Imm a couple of days ago, I was probably the only foreigner wearing a mask. Yesterday I saw a young farang riding his scooter at full speed (way over the limit) in 40C with PM2.5 well over 100, no shirt, no helmet, no mask. So yes, I think that crap is probably correct at least as far as foreign tourists are concerned.
  16. I paid about 76k in a large private hospital in CM, inclusive of all pre-op tests and post-op recovery in single room.
  17. I don't know about "best", but I found Dr Tapanut Ariyanon (lady) at Sriphat OPD very knowledgeable and thorough, and as a plus that new building is a joy compared to some older private establishments. Mind you, this was late 2022 and my issue was actually more about T than EN.
  18. Soar? Geez, someone really intends to stir up negative comments on everything.
  19. I have been using a number of pools over the years, and at each of them there's invariably some swimming lessons going on particularly in the afternoon. Both group and one on one. So choose a pool convenient for you, and look at the notice board or ask the ticket office.
  20. Well, if you want to read it that way. Or you could say that, in order to counteract the Soviet attempt to take over Afghanistan, it was the US that encouraged and supported the Taliban movement initially. Making a mess not unlike their initial support for Saddam in Iraq. But we can agree that let to itself, without Soviet or US interference, Afgahnistan would probably be a much happier country today. I still remember talking to an Afghan refugee lady in the late 80's who had tears in her eyes describing how beautiful her home country was.
  21. Not being critical, just curious. How do they call each other? Do they both say "my husband" referring to their spouse, or is one identified as "the wife"? What is written in their documents? What if two men "have a child", how would the baby call his two dads? I have to say that "his husband" does sound wrong in English. Perhaps languages will have to adapt to these new situations.
  22. English is the international language today, like French and Spanish were before, or Latin a long time ago. Things evolve, and soon Chinese might replace English. in CM, a lot of shops, restaurants, shopping malls, hospitals, real estate, already have Chinese speaking staff. In some kindergartens, Chinese is the main language after Thai. It's not prostrating, more like being realistic. Native chinese speakers (that includes Taiwan, HK, Singapore) bribg in much more money to Thailand than native English speakers. btw, I find that at least in a big city a lot of Thais already speak/understand passable English, so much that I hardly need to speak Thai at all.
  23. We have a few bought from Lazada at less than 1000B, they work ok e.g. in a large room. We also have small necklace-type personal purifiers, obviously not for a room but e.g. to keep close to you when you sleep or walk outside. A couple of hundred baht, they help a little. Note that most places are not air-purified, including main shopping malls, so your battle is not only at home.
  24. Justice? btw he was not hiding, he was under protection in an Embassy of a country that eventually could not resist the pressure.
  25. Unlike Christian countries where people use crucifix instead of amulets. btw, have a good relocation and let us know how much better you like it.
