  1. I went today to ask about this. They told me ALL accounts for all customers will be moved to the BKB branch near Thanin Market. We should receive soon a letter with the info. Apart from the bank postal address, nothing will change in terms of acc. numbers, online access, types of services. Unfortunately, it seems that the current KSK branch staff could be disbanded to different locations. Pity because they were pretty good IMO.
  2. OP wants to extend, meaning he/she already has it. Since there is no such thing as a retirement visa, I'd say he/she is talking about a retirement extension. You seem new on this forum, welcome, please be assured that we have heard this comment a zillion times.
  3. Best wishes for the outcome of your operation! @OneMoreFaranggave you a good hint.
  4. Did not expect that, kudos! This said, "space" is already a giant mess with tiny artificial objects and debris, I hope the can-sized satellites do not proliferate.
  5. I am glad, they are a great team and they are doing their country proud. Not just with their skills, but with a pleasant attitude as well, always happy and smiling after a successul volley, while some other teams are always stone-faced even when they score. I look forward to cheering them in the next games.
  6. You are absolutely right, I don't know what the tourists are thinking going to a beach in Thailand without first taking a course on how to handle packs of stray dogs. Three or four lessons, maybe with you as a teacher, and then they are good to hit the sand. It's easy. Jeez.
  7. This thread is running right now and lists what you need to know. Re-entry can be obtained right after you get the extension, fill the form, don't forget to bring an extra picture, and the cash (1000/3900 I think, for single/multiple).
  8. I am not interested in playing with words. Have a good day.
  9. If it's worth the money to you, then it's all that matters. But I don't get the part about avoiding immigration visits and IOs, surely you still have to be there in person.
  10. Your money, your choice, no criticism from me. However I want to note that "all the stories of what went wrong" never happened to me. Also CM. If I have my papers ready, and I do not act confrontational, the IO is happy with me and I am happy with them, year after year. Last two years I have been using the online appointment system, really quick, in and out in 20 minutes.
  11. If you care to go out, there are indeed lots of tourists. Here in CM you see since months a definite increase in young western tourists, yes with mask. Second but obvious, a good number of Singaporeans and Malays. And when I was transiting at Suvarnabhumi a few days ago, impressive (to be kind) numbers of Indians on flights to Phuket. Also, my flight from Europe was 100% booked and many were mixed western-thai couples, I don't know if you want to count them as tourists but they are indeed arrivals. We are of course far from the crazy pre-covid numbers, good for me, and it will stay so until the Chinese resume travelling.
  12. Really, Dr. Doom? Sorry, I couldn't resist! btw, very sorry about your GR dog.
  13. Does it have to be near the airport? find a nice safe spot anywhere in town, from there it's 200B by grab and it will leave you just at the entrance. Most parking spots at the airport require a long walk, which may not be ideal with luggage or in rain.
  14. That, or you could actually switch off the computer and take a look outside.
  15. I suspect that by research you mean sit at a computer asking google to find articles, posts, blogs and vlogs. You know very well that in this way you will find exactly the answers that you want to hear. Talking to the few non-vaxxers that I know has been like talking to religious fanatics. They probably think the same of me. But we are digressing. The perfect answer to the OP was given by @EricTh
  16. Nov 10 is a Thu, Nov 12 a Sat, IO closed. This means that you can do your extension on Nov 11, tight but possible. Collect all the forms before you leave. Frankly, is it so difficult for you to move the return date two days earlier? That would be my first option, though I realize you may have constraints. Second option, go to your IO (or use an agent as someone said) and plea to have your extension done before you leave. I guess other suggestions to let your current extension expire and start anew are valid too, just it would be my last resort.
  17. Did you ask? I intend to do so in the next few days. I was hoping they would relocate the same branch at a new address. They had a lot of foreign customers, and all the staff at the right-hand side counters dealing with accounts/transfers and so on spoke very good English and had lots of experience. It would be a shame if they disband it.
  18. Never had to do that. This is the list of what I brought to my IO (Chiang Mai) last January (I use money in the bank in a separate account, and I own my condo) --------- passport and copies (first page, orig visa transfer, latest extension) tm6 and copy tm30 and copy 90 days (needs copy too, the officer kindly did it right there for me) bank letter and copy (copy not needed) orange passbook (bank deposit) and copy tm 7 filled and signed (remember to add phone number) "overstay" declaration and stm2, filled and signed (copies not needed) (tm 8 I had but not needed, re-entry) .... blue passbook (regular checking account), no copies. just in case (not needed) yellow housebook, blue housebook no copies. just in case (not needed) no extra pics (I didn't ask re-entry on this date)
  19. You answered your own question. I agree Central Festival has really no soul, but considering that most people walk around looking into their phones it probably doesn't matter to them. Apt Plaza on the contrary I like, always new things popping up in the basement and in the annex, lots of shops, good food courts, decent parking for m/bikes, the Baan&Beyond complex nearby, and above all a nice middle-income crowd that doesn't go to the mall just to show off their fashion or hairdo.
  20. Shame really, for those who were around 10+ years ago KSK was "the" shopping mall along with Airport Plaza, conveniently located. However, not only the newer malls and especially Maya proved a tough competition, but also it made some idiotic moves of its own. I remember dearly the food court of ten years ago in front of TOPS with free live music in the evening, but with the Chinese wave they converted it to something very fake where I never found anything that appealed to me. At the same time, parking started to be difficult, the main entrance once covered with small food/clothes stands became the domain of aggressive red buses, and there were no new investments. Venturing above the 3rd floor in the back of the building felt like visiting an archeological site, the bathrooms started to show their age. The traffic along Huay Kaew and the invasion of food delivery m/bikes taking every parking spot for scooters did the rest. I stopped going there even before Covid. KSK had become a place to get depression, not distraction. Does anyone know what will happen to the BKB branch there?
  21. Good trick! Usually whenever I start writing the first letter of my name is when the turbulence starts.
  22. You'll find that a lot of goods are produced in China and shipped from there, as clearly stated. If you can't suffer the extra days waiting time, too bad for Lazada they will probably go bankrupt without your business but it's their fault.
  23. Predictable but still shameful. Wish him luck.
  24. I hate to admit it, but for the first time I admire Brexit. Von der Leyen & co. make even Bojo look a like a genius.
