  1. and I am sure said attorney has absolutely no financial interest in the matter.
  2. If you have this curiosity, you can easily satisfy it yourself by watching at least a tiny part of the endless hours of depositions by JD, AH, and witnesses. You can easily find them on youtube. A deeper question that I have, however, is: why on Earth did JD marry her? Ths is a textbook reminder to all men to remember to engage the brain in our skull and not only the one between our legs when dealing with women. With all due respect to (most) women.
  3. Correct, but as I just posted the change is not obvious at all for those who already got their TP before. I suggest that you (or Sheryl?) kindly create a thread to warn at least the readers of this forum to check the actual validity from the QR code and not trust the TP as issued.
  4. I also did it in May, with your same arrival date. As you say, it was issued with 10-24 June validity. BUT, given the various reports, today I scanned the QR code and, surprise surprise, the validity is now 17-20 June [0,+3 days]. I suggest you check also yours. I find it weird that they change this (why oh why?) but especially borderline criminal that they don't inform us explicitly. Had I not checked, I might have happily decided to land say 4 days later than planned and find out that my TP was not valid. What then?! They would have refused me entry?? They should at the very least send an email to all 2-weeks validity TP holders to inform them.
  5. More precisely, the US intelligence knew that NATO would pressure Putin into attacking Ukraine, that's not a difficult prediction to make since US intelligence and NATO work hand in hand. So, no proof of credibility, just normal war propaganda which may or may not be right. If it is right, I find a bit strange that the main news don't tell us what kind of cancer and what kind of treatment.
  6. And especially win for the lawyers on both sides, the only ones sure to see their money.
  7. That's already something. It's all a matter of perspective. In Japan, the PM would commit suicide on public tv. In Italy, he would be cheered on the streets. In China, the judge would be sent to a rieducation camp. In Iceland, people would be asking who paid for the wine. In USA, ... you fill it in.
  8. may I add, of fully vaccinated (not Sinovac one year ago) only
  9. I thought I had already mentioned... my first visit there was in Nov 2020. So if they are complaining one month ago I can only open my arms in disbelief. I am not sure what it means "farang oriented", I am a farang too, my Thai is limited, I always speak English at Sriphat OPD, never had a problem. All the signs and writings and receipts are in English. Of course, I haven't tried all the specialists, only two. In terms of service and organization, it beats e.g. RAM hands down, and I have been a frequent flyer there for years. Similar level as BKH CM. Anyway Sheryl, I think I made my views clear enough, I will stop hijacking this thread now. Keep up the good work.
  10. I find 8 years for killing the unfortunate lady quite lenient. More recently, there was a comparable case in which a Spaniard killed and dismembered a fellow countryman and dumped the body parts in the river. He was caught and convicted quickly. He was sentenced to death, then commuted to life in Spanish prison. https://www.catalannews.com/society-science/item/death-penalty-reduced-to-life-sentence-for-catalan-businessman-in-thailand
  11. It doesn't matter to the poor lady obviously, but I also thinks it's important. This guy will be out in 8 years max. Is he a psycopath, might he do it again? What triggered him?
  12. Unfortunately, that is not the subject being discussed/polled and I doubt there will be any effect on this shameful practice. The poll is about terminating the use of Thai numbers in official documents. Frankly, I have to side with the Government on this, the numbers do reflect some Thai culture (just like the use of B.E. years instead of A.D. years) and it's perfectly possible for a computer system to deal with them, just as computer systems can deal with hundreds or thousands of different alphabetical scripts and ideograms systems.
  13. As you say, a matter of semantics. I don't know much about gap years since it was not something people did in my country when I was young, but from the little I gather it generally consists in travelling around the world not staying put in another country for 10 months. The OP doesn't seem to be much "touring" either, if he did the same year after year. But anyway, none of this is my business. My comment was rather directed at the disbelief that the OP seems to have for Thai authorities who want tourists and yet don't let people easily obtain a TV valid for 10 months.
  14. Indeed, the motive has been so far not reported. Help... well there were clear indications even in an early investigation that he was connected, and yet he was able to spend several more weeks in Thailand before finally flying out. Something is strange.
  15. Perhaps the journalist jumped the bell, but he has now been convicted. 8 years, 10M + 2M financial compensation.
  16. A little more than that, reading the mainstram news. He was seen entering a hotel with her, and leaving alone. She was not seen again. The porters remember him leaving with a very heavy suitcase that required 2 persons to be carried. The bedsheets were stained with blood. They found his DNA under her nails (ok this may be argued). He also confessed.
  17. you can see the new building here... I hope youtube is allowed...
  18. ok Sheryl but all the negative things you report are about the old Sriphat building. He was asking explicitly about OPD, and I am sorry but everything is wrong. They speak English at a level comparable with BKH CM. They have many foreign customers. Of course they run an appointment system, they tell me at which hour to come (eg 5pm or 6pm) then I get a queue number which is very well respected (unlike e.g. RAM where I often had to protest), comprehensive of QR code and displayed clearly on large LCD screens. I realize you provide this info based on feedbacks, and you do a great job, but please don't you have a friend in CM that can go and check out the situation?
  19. absiolutely not. Everybody speaks English - well all the info counters staff, nurses, as for doctors I used only two they spoke good English. Once you get in, on the ground floor, there is an info desk for appointments and inquiries, they speak English, some better than me ???? I never needed an Int'l Dep. I needed it at Ram and BKK CM when they had to deal with my insurance for operations. I don't think they do operations at the Sriphat OPD. My appointment slip says to call 053-936908, 936910, 934643 to change appointment. Perhaps you can try that. But if you live in town it's easy to drive there, and there are a couple of nice restaurants and a small supermarket round the corner to make it worth you while ????
  20. How recently: I looked at my records and I have been there the first time in November 2020. I don't know how much earlier it had opened but I guess not long. Note that in 2011 I had been many times to the old building, it was maybe not as dramatic as you describe but indeed far below other better ones. You have had negative feedback about the new Sriphat OPD??? I find it hard to believe, sorry. Or are you/they confusing it with the main Sriphat building? I am not sure if all OPD services moved to the new building. I do know that they have a people-mover shuttle between the two. btw, same story with Lanna hospital in CM, for your records, they recently opened a new Building 3 which is a far cry above the old original building.
  21. I think you are not updated. The new OPD Sriphat building is to be highly recommended. Waiting time, navigation and English proficiency are fantastic. I had to dispel the same kind of misinformation on another forum.
  22. I am very happy with both BKK CM and the new Sriphat. I had a scare about a possible throat cancer last year (lucklily it wasn't), and I had it checked out at both hospitals. Very good doctors in both cases, and same equipment. Also comparable in terms of service, nurses, waiting time, etc. Absolutely no reason to prefer one over the other. For the record, I paid 1821B at BKK CM, and 1100/1600 (2 separate visits) at Sriphat.
  23. Perhaps it is a blessing in your case. In my case, I'd love to use a doctor at BKK CM because the life-long medication I need is cheaper there. Unfortunately, their specialist is a dinosaur approaching 70 who seems never to retire. I had a very bad experience with said doctor 10 years ago (NB while she was working at Sriphat). I see instead a younger guy at Sriphat now, cheaper (the doctor, not the medicine but I am insured), who is up to date in his field. About English, appointments, hours of waiting, you might be referring to the old Sriphat which was indeed hell. The new Sriphat is fantastic and easily at the same level as BKK CM.
