1. If we look at a graph of the various glacial periods over hundreds of millions of years, we can see that the Earth is currently at an interglacial period. Interestingly, the high temperature of this 'hot' period is less than was experienced in the previous interglacial periods. Industrialisation certainly has contributed to an increase in global temperatures. However as a scientist, I'm not swayed by the various efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions etc. It's rather like King Canute trying to turn back the sea. The Earth is somewhat 'stronger' than our puny species and you can't change a climatic effect that has existed for millions of years. If the human species is eliminated by the natural cycle of the Earth's temperature, then so be it 🙂
2. I have zero interest in the US elections 🙂 But even Blind Betty can see that Biden is senile - the same as many people of his age. It's like taking someone with dementia out of an old people's home and putting them in the White House. This has nothing to do with his politics - he should be put out 'to grass', preferably with a fence all around the field to stop him wandering off!
3. Since the UTI is always present (for years), and since it doesn't generally cause me any serious problems, I'm not keen to fork out $$$ to try to eliminate it (without any guarantee that it won't come back). I note on my culture results that Amoxicillin/Clav is the only oral antibiotic that has some effect (intermediate susceptibility) is noted on the results. So since this is about 99% (or more) cheaper than the XXXpenem medications, I'll have a go with this.
4. Thanks Sheryl - your comments about the high price are not music to my ears 😞 Unfortunately, the only 2 exclusions on my current medical insurance cover are for BPH and UTIs......
5. Perhaps they could install rainbow-coloured groynes to celebrate Pride ,(since Jomtien beach seems to be a magnet for these types). Sort of 'Come and grope my groin in the groynes..'
6.
Is it really a crime to find money sitting in an ATM machine? What person would not take it if you saw it sitting there?
Well, that statement tells me all I need to know about you >> a low -life thief in the making!

Cheap gym

Indeed I'm not! 🙂 Mea culpa
8. Perhaps, but I was 2 years old at the time...
9. The comment about correctly-fitting shoes is relevant. I have a large bunion, had it for 25 years and it generally causes me no issues. Anyway, my big toe started to impinge on my second toe, so I purchased a bandage 'brace' from Lazada which gently/slowly moves the big toe away from the second toe (it won't remove the bunion). Well, after wearing it for a few hours (and my foot felt fine), I got a sharp lower back pain. I removed the brace and after a few hours the pain disappeared. I tried this test again with the same results. So clearly the position of your foot/toes etc can affect your lower back.
10. The statistical benefit of a tetanus jab re Parkinson's seems very small, but I suppose still worthwhile if there are no detrimental effects of such a vaccination.
11. Excellent! Another click-bait new member sob story to increase the page views.....

Cheap gym

Cheek of it! I don't have mobility problems 🙂 I'm jogging 10km every morning. What I do have is muscle entropy in my upper body as I age. So I'm doing relevant exercises/relevant diet to slow down that muscle wastage etc 🙂
13. Well, my trip this morning to the Urology clinic at Pattaya Memorial hospital didn't go well! Note that my Thai language fluency is such that I'm able to discuss the medical details etc of my problem in Thai. But in any case, the doctor whom I saw discussed in both Thai and English. Unfortunately, he seemed to be of the "I am an important doctor and you know nothing" type! He dismissed my history of BPH, prostate calcium stones (diagnosed at the UK hospital last year), MRI at Burumgrad, 24-needle biopsy, long-term UTI and recent urine antibiotic sensitivity test etc, and declared that I mostly likely had a blockage in my urethra and he was going to prescribe an oral antibiotic (which the culture results clearly showed was unlikely to work - he had a copy of these results in front of him). At my polite insistence that a XXXpenem (XXX means there are several suitable antibiotics of the penem family) antibiotic course of injections seemed to be the best course of action, he said that this would probably clear up the UTI but that it would then return because I hadn't had the urethra obstruction removed... He agreed to a course of 5 daily injections of XXXpenem. Now I had checked the cost of this kind of drug and I know it's expensive. But the hospital wanted to charge me $125 USD for each injection..... That price doesn't tally with what Dr Google tells me 🙂 I don't want a diagnosis from the doctor - I've already had that. I just want a competent medical person to administer the course of XXXpenem injectable antibiotic. Can I buy this medicine over the counter? If so, perhaps I could then go to Dr Olivier's clinic and have him administer it.

Cheap gym

Another early morning session in Tony's gym. Slowly, slowly is probably the best advice for someone at my age >> gradually improve my arm/chest muscle mass. As I was on the treadmill I could see some of the men I described yesterday set up their mobile phones on tripods and video other men as they are lifting free weights, even though apparently the men don't know or speak to each other. What is that about? Many of them keep casting glances at me. Now it could be that they are all as gay as f cuk and I'm an Adonis! More likely, they want to see if I'm admiring their rippling bodies... which I'm not. All in all, it's an interesting snapshot into gym life to start the day. I'm off to Memorial Hospital to sort out a long-term UTI (I mention this in a prostate thread in the Health forum).
15. I can't see the video, just blank...

17.
... didn't the ocean current modelling give them some clues ??? ...
Now now, you think they have actually done some modelling? Sounds like long-shore drift exacerbated by the stormy weather. Perhaps some groynes would solve the problem permanently....
18. We learn by our mistakes - next time make a back-up and a back-up of the back-up. This might help you right now 🙂

20. You have trouble reverting it? Did you make a copy of the original website before you messed it up?
21. I think you are meant to take the diapers out of the huge bag before you wear them 🙂
22. I usually sit on the step outside and pee into my empty Leo bottle.....
23.
Also note that the claim was for a procedure that had absolutely nothing to do with any sort of hypertension.
This is exactly the same reason why my claim was refused by April International (France). I had (unwittingly) failed to disclose a minor medical condition that was unrelated to my claim. My claim was refused and my insurance cancelled without any refund. As mentioned in another thread, this is why when I applied to WR Life for insurance, I sent them 2 pages of my medical history from the age of 10(!). This included falling off a fence, a bunion, a scar on my leg from a motorbike accident etc. This seemingly-crazy statement was to ensure that WR Life were fully aware of my full medical history, and would be unable to dispute a valid claim. They gave me full cover, only excluding the medical condition that I had previously claimed for with April. The short of it all - if you fail to disclose ANY pre-existing or medical condition or procedure or accident, whether it is related to your claim is immaterial - it is a reason to deny your claim.
24. It's special rice, a bit like 100 year old eggs....
