It make me wonder if the public generally understand the significance of the red flags?

Do people take an interest in what's around them and whether it's relevant to what they're doing?

I wouldn't know if you can narrow it down to a nationality - Chinese in this instance:

"his family of four were waiting for a boat to head back to Phuket they decided to go for a swim in a location where there were red flags along the beach."

Is it a case of informing the public better, or is it pointless if some are just not spatially aware of anything?

He might of thought Red Flag was for Chinese only to swim

I did the 100'000 km on Thai roads yesterday on one of my cars (can't count the rest since the 80s in Europe).

Again: motorway 7 is not a race track.

You defend nidicolous driving like this and I am afraid you have a license too. Are you Thai?

where did I defend speeding read my post again I said there was no proof of speeding, everyone's guilty in your eyes

I have no sympathy for someone driving a status symbol, especially when they are racing on public roads.  You get a couple of idiots racing on a highway and suddenly everyone around them becomes a race car driver.  Including the truck driver who was following these morons at excessive speed.  Boo hoo.

Did I miss something how do you know they were speeding, just because someone said so

    No no!

Has to be flown to manufacturers site for special repair by the one and only mechanic approved.

    No less than a million.

    :cheesy:

(not meant serious, but don't expect that this car will go to some arbitrary body shop)

Surprised to read that the pickup driver is blamed most.

The two irresponsible racing pricks shortened his path.

Motorway 7 is NOT a race track.

And it's another proof why pickups are NOT safe cars.

Long break distance, immediately flying off the path on a full break (no ABS you can bet, no electronic helpers).

do you have a licence, I haven't seen any proof that they were speeding, its cleat the pickup driver was not on the ball

Fact of the matter is that this corrupt contract for Phuket's northern beaches is on full public display. Hire the minimum number of cheap guys with no swim experience and skim off much of the contract money. But now with phone cams of official life guards hiding on the beach until tourists recover near unconcious swimmers then they rush in to take all the credit. Now this is all in the full public glare ... what now Phuket Gov ...

Are you telling me there not even taught to stand on the beach and point if someone is in trouble

Pattaya taxi driver rewarded for turning on meter for Chinese tourist

    vss.jpg

A taxi driver contacted Pattaya police to let them know he turned the meter on for a Chinese tourist on Sunday night.

Chen Mingxin, 45, was so delighted to get the meter turned on after only asking once without argument that he gave the driver a Bt2,000 reward in gratitude.
