Once most of the population is vaccinated, then there will be huge daily infection spikes, probably much bigger than those already recorded. The time has come to learn to live with Covid, not hide away from it.

Ex-police chief ‘Joe Ferrari’ has 600 MILLION baht in assets
Dmaxdan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If his assets are frozen then I'm guessing he will have no way to "buy" his freedom. -
I know it is controversial and will never happen but if they really want to reduce road deaths then they need to ban people from getting their cars and motorcycles blessed by monks. Way too many people here are brainwashed at an early age into believing that by having vehicles blessed gives them some sort of divine protection and therefore they can do what they like, when they like and no harm will befall them

I have one which I sometimes use outside during the hot season and the air it blows is a noticeably cooler than a regular fan. However, like many I originally bought it to use inside the house but abandoned this idea simply because it created too much humidity. It is also extremely noisy compared to a fan. If you use it on the highest speed it sounds like a jet engine!

Disgusting. The problem with the vaccine rollout here is in many cases it's not who you are but who you know that counts. Nearly all the Thais I know in our village who have been vaccinated are between 20 and 40, most with "connections" to hi-so people or government employees who can pull the appropriate strings.

Options for "putting our dog down" (euthanised)
Dmaxdan replied to RemyDog's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
If you (or your family) can no longer care for her then please put some effort in and find someone who will. The euthanasia option is insane! There are plenty of dog lovers in Thailand and lots of ways, social media for example to find a good home for your dog. -
Sharp table top oven - Temperature problems.
Dmaxdan replied to Golden Triangle's topic in The Electrical Forum
I believe that these small table top ovens do have a reputation for not being particularly accurate with regards to temperature control. Remember that they are what they are, cheap appliances. We have one (not Sharp). With ours, I've long believed that the temperature control is nothing more than a high and low temperature setting. If I turn the temperature knob all the way up from the off position I can hear a click at around about the halfway point. This tells me that it is now in hot mode. If it doesn't click then the oven or the grill won't get hot and the elements won't glow red -

Marriage extension without Marriage cert
Dmaxdan replied to DumbFalang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do you mean the Kor Ror 2 If so, when I applied for my marriage extension at CM last month I was informed by the immigration officer that currently due to Covid restrictions it is not necessary to have a new Kor Ror 2 dated for this year. An old one will do. -
Lockdown set to be relaxed next week: DDC

As far as I can make out, the vaccine rollout has so far accelerated about as fast as a tortoise riding an overloaded grocer's bicycle.- 278 replies

Marriage Extension Question.
Dmaxdan replied to IvorBiggun2's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I believe immigration does has the authority to check the balance of your account whilst you are under consideration. In fact I know someone who a few years ago foolishly withdrew money from their account whilst they were under consideration and they were called in by immigration before the date stamped in their passport to be told their marriage extension application had been refused because their funds had dropped below 400,000 baht. This was at Chiang Mai immigration. I actually stop and update my bank book on route to immigration on the day my under consideration period ends. I've never been told to do this or have I read that it is necessary, I just think it pays to think ahead and be prepared because one day.... -
Leading Thai doctor says the Covid stats can't be trusted
Dmaxdan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Once 70% of the population is finally vaccinated and everything starts to open up then the number of recorded cases will skyrocket. So in my humble opinion it is time to move on from publishing daily infection numbers and start giving us honest figures relating to how many have died and how many have been vaccinated.- 138 replies

I can only speculate but I think in years to come Covid vaccines will be mandatory for all Thailand visas including non-O extensions.
