  1. We have a well maintained 12000 BTU inverter air conditioner in our bedroom. The room is 16 square meters. It is set to 25°C and runs every night from about 7:00pm to 5:30am. Our electric bill in April was 1,186 baht. If my wife didn't use the well pump to water her longan orchard our bill would have been under 1000 baht. I'm estimating that May's bill may be a little higher but not by much more than say 200 baht. What I will say is we live out in the sticks so we pay the standard PEA rate. We don't get ripped off by some unscrupulous condo landlord.
  2. The other car had already stopped so I'm presuming that the driver of the white SUV didn't have right of way and should also have stopped. If that is the case he should be held accountable.... However, in Thailand whether you have right of way or not you should always approach any intersection with extreme caution. The elderly Swiss guy clearly didn't do that.
  3. Alcohol, including beer dehydrates you. It has the complete opposite affect to drinking good old H2O.
  4. Who ever filmed this really needs to clean the lense on their phone...
  5. 6 against 1 again. Cowardly drunken scumbags. .
  6. Are you suggesting that if you walk into a hardware store and say to a female assistant "I need a screw, can you help?" you wlll get more than you bargained for? And what happens if you ask for wood...
  7. Exercise is total BS? In about a year I went from 83 kilos to 70 kilos purely by walking a minimum of 10,000 steps everyday. In all that time I have never changed my diet simply because it was fairly healthy anyway. It was just that as I got older my metabolism slowed down and before I knew where I was I was sporting a paunch. By walking I can allow myself to consume naughty things such as beer, in moderation when ever I please. I have never counted calories. What I will say is, joining expensive gyms is really rather pointless, unless for some reason you want to be a meatheaded, muscle bound superhero wannabe.
  8. I agree to a point. These summer storms can be extremely destructive and can cause widespread damage to people's property and lively hoods. Bring on the rain yes, but not the gale force winds and lightning.
  9. So is that 400 recently or since the beginning of time?
  10. Would you promise to remove the majority of your own posts?
  11. In a roundabout way, that was precisely the point I was making...
  12. A couple of posters including with myself suggested that this was an April fool's joke very early on after this topic was first published. However, our posts were mysteriously removed...thus proving hands down it was all a wind up.
  13. It's no longer that simple. There are now officially 72 genders amongst the world's human population. Personally, and I know that in this day and age that this is incredibley boring but I 100% identify as a man. And because of this I like actual 100% proper ladies. Sooooo....in answer to the OP's question, no I couldn't imagine or indeed want to be anything other than a proper bloke.
  14. Exactly what sort of workout did you have in mind when you joined? Because it might be more of a walk out than a workout once they get to know you.
  15. The OP clearly states that his agent had requested this, not CM immigration directly. If this was an actual new requirement at CM immigration then there would be numerous reports of this from expats who have renewed their extensions recently. Particularly those who don't use agents. I live in Chiang Mai and I've not heard anything relating to this, not even on the Chiang Mai Facebook expats page. Personally, I think that the OP's agent is just fishing for information. Trying to find out how much money their clients are bringing into the country each month. And using immigration as an excuse to ask personal money related questions. They are probably looking partnering up with a financial advisor and moving into the taxation game. We all know this is going to happen.
  16. Non because in the real world, away from the drunken expat bar stool talk things are very different. They can't and never will refuse someone's extension of stay based purely on what other people are doing.
  17. Baan Tawai village? Particularly the road leading towards it.
  18. Hence the old joke about a man who mixed up to toothpaste with the hemorrhoid cream and woke up with a lovely ring of confidence.
  19. Playing with his skateboard? Does he have a mental age of 10? That would explain the temper tantrums.
  20. Minimum 15,000 steps a day. 2-3 sessions a week on my exercise bike.
  21. When will people learn. Don't antagonize the ladyboys! They have notoriously short fuses.
  22. Last year my wife was looking at buying a new Yamaha Grand Filano. The Yamaha website quoted that the top spec hybrid version was 68,500. In reality the dealerships were asking in excess of 85,000! This was in Chiang Mai. And that wasn't the farang price because a friend of my wife called someone she knew who worked at one of the dealerships.
