American man arrested for rape of massage worker in Khon Kaen
Dmaxdan replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Isaan News
You seem to forget that there are plenty of scumbags around the world that have so far not been arrested for anything and therefore don't have a criminal record. You can't vet everyone who arrives in Thailand, dangerous criminals don't generally have the fact tattooed on their foreheads. -
Thai fermented fish thrown at PM’s vehicle by opponents
Dmaxdan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You know the locals aren't happy when they are prepared to waste their beloved pla ra! If he doesn't buck his ideas up then next time they will probably be throwing canned fish...ouch!!- 48 replies

I can't answer your question, but I'm due to go tomorrow (30th) for my second shot. One would presume that this time they know who is due to turn up and everyone arriving will already be registered so the process should be quicker... For example, I'm guessing you won't need to fill in the consent form again. I plan to get there about 8am which is about to same time I arrived for my first jab.

Thailand's 'draconian' alcohol laws in the spotlight
Dmaxdan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Alcohol has never been blamed for being a factor in avoiding getting Covid, not even here in Thailand. Thailand reasoning for these restrictions is the effect that alcohol has on the body if you drink enough of it, basically in layman's terms "getting drunk" Anyone who has ever been drunk knows that their judgment is impaired, their inhibitions are lowered and their brain functions and concentration levels slow down drastically. All of this means that drunk people will almost certainly forget or more likely, not care about all the Covid protocols that have been put in place such as social distancing, wearing a mask and washing their hands etc. And this in turn could increase the risk of outbreaks of the disease.- 233 replies

You mean you actually take notice of what some people post on here??? Just remember that many of the posts written here are just opinions (not facts) from the glass half empty brigade.

Flooding Caused by Heavy Rain in North, Northeast
Dmaxdan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Try telling that to the people who's houses are currently knee deep with dirty, brown water. -
What a stupid situation. Being victimized like this is not exactly going to encourage foreigners to come forward and be tested, even if they believe they have Covid symptoms.

Then I think you are going to be asleep for a very long time yet. I doubt that the national daily figures will ever drop that low again simply because eventually things have to get back to some sort of normality. Once everyone (who wants to be) is vaccinated and everything starts to open up fully then it is extremely likely that the number of cases will climb again, possibly to new record levels. We have to learn to live with this and except the fact that most, if not all of us will catch COVID-19 at some point.

Just slap a 50,000 baht fine, and a years driving ban on all those who are caught drinking and driving. And if you kill someone then you should be given a minimum 10 year prison sentence. Everybody knows drink driving is wrong, so all offenders should be heavily punished. There are no excuses!

I was allocated a unique 13 digit number when I first registered for a Covid vaccination online back in June. This is number is personal to me and starts with 60xxxxxxxxxxx. It is my understanding that once I'm fully vaccinated (I've had one jab so far) I can use the same number to register for a vaccination card/certificate. Of course I may be mistaken but this is what I have read from multiple sources.

Life in Thailand possible without the Vaccine?
Dmaxdan replied to AmericanMusashi's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
I believe there is a strong possibility that proof of a Covid vaccination will, at some point in the future become mandatory for Thailand all visas and extensions. This is of course just supposition...- 256 replies

Expatvac Pfizer Over 50 Promenada Mon, Sep 13, 2021 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Dmaxdan replied to Thailand's topic in Chiang Mai
I went yesterday (9th). Lots of people there, but an efficient service. For me, the whole process took about 2 hours including the 30 minutes you have to sit and wait after you've had your jab to see if you develop any immediate side effects. There were a few volunteers on hand to explain the process in English, including a guy explaining everything through a microphone. Oh and don't forget to take a pen, there is a consent form to fill in and sign. -
Once most of the population is vaccinated, then there will be huge daily infection spikes, probably much bigger than those already recorded. The time has come to learn to live with Covid, not hide away from it.
