I have done 7 extensions at Chiang mai and never had my funds checked after the issue of the "under consideration" stamp. I was once told that I had to produce an updated bankbook on getting my extension stamp at the end of the "under consideration" period, but on turning up with the bankbook and printed copies, the official dismissed them with the question "what are these for?"
I did my last report on line 4 days before the expiry date and received an acknowledgement almost immediately. 6 days later it was still pending and since I was going into the city anyway I submitted a form at the drive-through window and got it processed immediately. 2 days later ie. 4 days after the expiry I received a rejection EMail, "Already Submitted".
Later this year,my granddaughter is being sent by her university to UK for a 4 month "placement". I am out of touch with costs there and I am guessing she will need about 700 per month. Would any member still resident in UK or a recent visitor please advise me?
You do not need an agent. Take the papers provided by the person who officiates at the marriage to the Ampeu office and do it yourself. The staff will find an English speaker who will guide you,

Be prepared for a long wait and two or three irrelevant replies, it took me three messages and 5 weeks before I finally penetrated their brains.
The last daily news digest came through o 3rd Feb, also the twice daily Thailand news travel and forum posts have been reduced to one a day.
