  1. Is the DTC cost meant to be only 10k baht, which is approximately AUD$440? The Thai Embassy in Australia is charging AUD$600 which is approximately 13,600 baht: https://canberra.thaiembassy.org/destination-thailand-visa-dtv/
  2. Proof of residence from Immigration - Has things changed from a couple of years ago? Before it was easy for people on tourist visas or visa exempts to get it, as far as they did their TM30 reporting when they entered the country. Any recommendations on any other agents? Thanks. Will keep Mots in mind. Any other agent recommendations besides Mots?
  3. The Pattaya office doesn't give a 5 year licence if someone's on a tourist visa or visa exempt when renewing their initial 2 year temporary licence? Why is that? Can you also renew prior to the initial 2 year temporary licence expiring or does it have to be after it expired? I noticed in one of your previous posts you said "They wouldn't let me go early i had to go day after it expired". Anyone know if this still the case?
  4. Are there any limits on how many 60 day visa exempts you are allowed to do per calendar year via air and via land? Previously it used to be 2 times for land and unlimited via air for 30 day visa exempts but possible questioning if doing many of them via air.
  5. Haven't been keeping up to date with the recent visas on offer but am seeing there has been some changes in the last 6 months. Are SETV & METV still around now that visa exempts are now 60 days? Wouldn't make much sense for them to still offer SETV & METV.
  6. With a DTV visa you are allowed to stay a max of 180 days per years for 5 years at a cost of 10k baht for the DTV visa. For the other 185 days of each year are you able to come into Thailand visa exempt and still have your DTV valid? Eg. use your 180 DTV, fly out after 180 days then fly back in visa exempt the next day or a few days after?
  7. I have a 2 year Temporary Motorbike Licence which I got while on a METV. This 2 year licence is due to expire January 2025. I am currently overseas and probably won't be back to Thailand before this date. 1. Is it possible to get an agent to renew this to a 5 year licence while I'm not in Thailand and then the agent posts this licence internationally to myself? 2. I've read previously if you renew the licence AFTER it has expired, they will renew the licence for 6 years. Is this still correct? (My Birthday is in August) 3. If I come to Thailand and renew the licence myself, can I renew it in Pattaya on a visa exempt or do I need to get a tourist visa? Once renewed, will they issue a 5 year licence on the visa exempt or tourist visa? 4. What are the current requirements for renewing a motorbike licence? How long is the wait times? 5. Is it the same as before where you need to come TWO times, the 1st time to book an appointment and a 2nd time to submit the documents / get the licence? The 2nd appointment time you come is about a month after the 1st time you come to arrange the appointment date? Can appointments be made online these days rather than having to come in person?
  8. Why not get rid of TM6 for the Bam Pakkard and Bam Laem borders with Cambodia too?
  9. That ain't no "tourist". What you meant to say and title this thread is "Another Quality Retirement Visa Old Man with anger problems" in Thailand. You can clearly see he's a local living here with his Thai wife and adopted Thai familiy of kids which belong to a different father than the mother.
  10. If the OP posts a pic of himself here including the clothes and look that he had on that day, we can all take turns with our educated guesses as to something that may have triggered them searching him and his phone.
  11. Well, that's quite easy really. Enter on a different passport to the one that the visa is attached to. Eg. if you have a Canadian passport that the visa is attached to, then enter on your EU passport and get the 30 day exempt entry. Simples 😉
  12. Those Chinese girls walking around with umbrellas to protect themselves from getting any tans on their white skin are the smart ones. We all used to think in the past that they were weird.
  13. Wonder why Pattaya cops are fining people 500 baht for no licence and 500 baht for no helmet when the fines should be 200 baht and 400 baht only. What a scam. It's also funny that fines are double for a passenger not wearing a helmet. 800 baht for the passanger and only 400ebaht for the driver.
  14. Or asking for "a friend of a friend", like some poster in the visa section from 2-3 days ago
  15. Obviously not
  16. OP is an idiot, which Thailand doesn't need here. There are already too many Thai idiots in the country, they don't need any more to come here. Should be banned and deported if cops catch anyone drinking and driving a vehicle.
  17. You are. He is a "DIRTY" man lol
  18. How much do they fine you for running a yellow light or running a red light?
  19. The traffic cams above Beach Rd and 2nd Rd (near Cebtral Marina), are they meant to be speed cameras or what? Speed limit is meant to be 40kms/hour but load of people go way faster
  20. 17:25 timestamp when he asks for the key and cop gives it back to him
  21. If you go a few minutes earlier in the video, the cops had his keys and he asked for them back before going into the cop shop and the cop gave the keys back to him when asked. Plus cops can't take your keys when you have remote keyless entry like many of the newer bikes these days 😉
  22. I always speed up and cut through traffic on Beach Rd near the cop shop when I seem them standing there ready to pull over motorbikes. Never once have they been able to see and stop me because I'm driving too fast, would become too dangerous for them to try and run into the middle of the road. Because I don't want to waste my time and theirs. I've got my Thai licence and helmet on all the time so they wouldn't be able to fine me for anything anyway.
  23. So when the cops ask you to go inside and pay the fine, you just get on your motorbike and ride off and they will just watch you go lol
  24. From the video it looks like he was just mooning the passing traffic, not taking a public sheeet in the street
  25. Just saw a video where a falang was stopped on Beach Rd outside the Cop Shop and didn't have a Thai motorbike licence or IDP. Cops issued him a 500 baht fine. He didn't have enough cash on him apparently, went into the cop shop to pay with a card if they would accept it, but they said cash only. He walked back out and back to his motorbike and rode off without paying. We all know many Thais don't bother paying any traffic infringement fines but what happens with foreigners? Do they even lodge those paper fines into the computer system and do they issue the fines to the owners of the bikes if not paid? For example, rental company or rental person if privately rented? Here's the video, start around the 18:15 mark:
