Do Thais really attack foreigners for no reason?
bbi1 replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I get attacked by Thai girls all the time when I walk down Soi 6, they all go and attack my dick often on that street just when I walk minding my own business. It's very dangerous indeed here in Thailand. -
That's why I was asking, as you see motorbikes and cars both park on top of this yellow thing on Beach Rd in Pattaya. But from my question, it seems that many people don't even know what it meant, so that means many people have no clue either.
-
It is similar to this photo, which, I took in front of the Big C Central Marina side enterance. But this yellow box with yellow diagonal lines is at the enterance to the walkway to enter there carpark, so I'm presuming it means 'no parking'??? Motorbikes most of the time don't park on this yellow area, as there are plenty of motorbike parking spaces on either side from one end of the street to the end of the street.
-
I didn't take a photo, but it's a yellow rectangle with diagonal yellow cross on the road, just prior to the maroon colour Bus Stop marking on the road and also the same yellow rectangle with diagonal yellow cross on the road just after the maroon colour Bus Stop painted on the road.

Thais park everywhere. Saw on Beach Rd Pattaya today the Traffic Police clamp the wheels and place fines on the windscreens of two cars at the beginning of the road who parked in the maroon Bus Stop area and the red and while curbside markings, but not a car parked part of the way on the yellow rectangle with the yellow cross inside it. This yellow rectangle thing with the yellow cross is just prior to the Bus Stop and just after the Bus Stop. The traffic cops continued along each road placing fines and clamping cars and towing away motorbikes parked in the wrong spots.

Young Girlfriend from Udon Thani wants to get married.

What did you do to make her really afraid or was it your look that really scared her? -
Travelling all the way to Sri Racha to get an appointment in 7 days rather than 14 days in Banglamung seems hardly worth it, but to each their own if you wish to save one week.

Chinese Nationals Arrested for Working as Real Estate Agents in Pattaya
bbi1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
There are so many foreigners working as real estate agents here. Would be pretty easy to go around and bust them all as they're everywhere. -
What does a yellow rectangle with a yellow diagonal cross on the road mean? Can you park there or not, if the curbside is all painted white? I can't seem to find out online what it means. I believe you can only park where the curbside is painted all in white or if it's black and white. If it's red and white that means no parking. If it's yellow and white it's also no parking, but can temporary load/unload goods or passangers. If it's painted in maroon colour on the road with a Bus Stop, you also can't park there, even if the curbside is painted all in white.

Yes, correct. After all the fees are added at the end giving you your total.
-
Ah yes, I've got those as well. The only coupons Grab offers is 10% off over 100 baht spend, but still it ends up a lot more than ordering via FoodPanda or LineMan.
-
How do you get the food vouchers? Is it those vouchers that appear under "Messages"? I find nearly all of them are for transport, not for food.
-
What are your experiences with food delivery apps in Pattaya? Which tend to be the best and cheapest ones? I've only come across 3 of them, are there any others? Also, how much commission do food apps usually charge the restaurants and how much goes to the driver? LineMan - Seems to be the cheapest out of the three, however, it doesn't seem you can add your foreign credit card as a payment method and need to pay cash. Whenever I add my card, it goes to the Kbank processing page then it just goes back to LineMan without adding the card or giving any other messages. I've only ordered from Mixue ice cream place, which is only a walk from my condo. Seems prices on the app are exactly the same as what's charged if you go there in person, being 40 baht for a Sundae. Delivery is FREE if you take the Normal or Low-Cost option. If I'm going to place an order, I'll order 5 Sundaes and keep them in the freezer for later. FoodPanda - Seems to be the 2nd cheapest out of the three. Can add a foreign card for payment and no extra fees charged. Mixue ice cream, they charge 50 baht for a Sundae, so you're paying 10 baht extra per Sundae ordered. They also add 7 baht as a delivery fee. Grab - This is the most expensive option. Can add a foreign card for payment but they do charge you about 3% in fees to use this. Mixue ice cream, they charge 45 baht for a Sundae, so you're paying 5 baht extra per Sundae ordered. They also add 13 baht as a delivery fee plus a small order fee of 10 baht if order value is less than 55 baht plus Other fees of 3% of the value of the order for using a foreign credit card.

In a previous condo building I lived in, the smoke detector inside the room flashed red every so often, maybe around 30 seconds to a minute each flash. I am now living in a different condo building. The smoke detectors inside my room of this condo building doesn't blink at all. I thought that smoke detectors should periodically have a flashing red LED light that blinks every minute to show that it's working and that there's still battery in it. I asked my real estate agent when I moved in, who's also a foreigner, but he had no clue. The Thai owner of the room said he thinks all the smoke detectors in the rooms should be hard-wired and doesn't think there's a battery in each. I asked the juristic office and they also had no clue. Anyone here experts in smoke detectors know what could be the correct answer?

Trust you - are you talking about this from 1st hand experience yourself? -
Anyone here have any recommendations for someone who does a good job for room cleaning of a studio approximately 35sqm in the Central Pattaya area and how much do they charge to do this? I presume they bring all their equipment with them to come and clean the room?

Oz $ losing so much value to the Baht
bbi1 replied to scorecard's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
Holy crappp, just had a look on Wise and the AUDTHB price is 21.77 which is basically the worse it's been since 2020 COVID times. The USDTHB still has a great exchange rate. What has happened that has made the AUD go down the toilet even more than it already was? -
Yes, it sucks big time. You have a long-term visa valid for 5 years but can only get a 2 year licence again 😞
-
Lots of people have posted in the past when you renew your licence, then it gets extended until your birthday. They wouldn't give me one, even though I asked for it. They said on a DTV I can only get 2 years. It sucks they won't give 5 year licences on renewals if you have a DTV.

I Think I Might Have Screwed Up

Border bounce would be fine if he has a 2nd passport. Come back into Thailand with a passport from another country. -
I Think I Might Have Screwed Up

My advice would be to call your Embassy and ask them what to do about your passport. -
I went to Chonburi Provincial Transport Office (Banglamung Branch) to extend my 2 year motorbike licence. I've been reading all over this forum that when you renew, you get extra months until your next birthday, which could mean potentially up to a year extra. This is absolutely false and a lie. My licence was due to expire in January 2025. My renewed licence was only given until 9 December 2026, so it's 2 years from today. That really means I even lost a month because my old licence would expire January 2025.

Lipoma was also what I thought when I Googled the possible things it could be, as well as a possible cyst. Ganglion cyst - it says it can be caused by excessive use of the joint. I sprained my other ankle and had to hop around and bear full weight on the good leg for a number of days. I think this lump developed around this time, but I'm not 100% certain as I didn't really pay any attention to my ankles prior.
-
I noticed about a week ago I've got this bump above my ankle bone, maybe 3cm in diameter. When I press it, it goes inwards then comes back to it's original shape when I release it. There's no pain at all. I've attached a picture. Anyone have any idea what it is?
