City congestion solved very quickly ;) Btw, talking about big bikes, a few weeks ago around 8am I saw a bunch of maybe 20 old farts at Areca Lodge on soi Diana gather together to go on a ride somewhere together, but firstly they had a group photo together. So it's not just the young ones, plenty of old farts also seem to take a liking to those big bikes.

Not true. Fast track lane on a business class ticket with a female immigration officer at end of last year, I was the only person there and IO gave me a bunch of questions whereas the normal lines I never ever got any questions.

Dude must be on the good stuff if he's seeing a border at Udon Thani. There is an international airport there, but no border to cross. Friendship Birdge No.1 is at Nong Khai, which is an hour's car ride away from the airport.

How do you know everyone in the queue were applying for 30 day extensions? Did you see their extension of stay form saying "30 days" on it? Did you get the queue number from one of the two ladies or the dude? I think the dude could be more friendly than the ladies giving the queue numbers at Jomtien.

They've always been picky about TM30. No TM30, no extension and a lovely 1,600 baht fine to go with it if you lodge a TM30 late. A TM30 needs to be done within 72 hours of arriving into Thailand.

I was the one who reported here about Jomtien's 3-4 day BS they are giving about extensions. The lady at the queue ticket desk looked through all my paperwork and all was in order, then she looked at my stamp in the passport and said come back 3-4 days before stamp expiry, you can't do it now. When I asked why not because I've been doing it for many years about 30 days in advanced at Jomtien, she said ask at desk 1 and then I got the BS excuse "very sorry, high season" from the man at that desk 1 which does the extensions.

Jomtien immigration won't let you do it 3-4 days before the expiry of your stamp. You'll get turned back and get a BS excuse "very sorry, high season" from the desk doing extensions and the ladies at the counter will just tell you come back 3-4 days before stamp expiry, can't be done any earlier. So don't bother coming earlier or you'll just waste your time and money travelling there.

Got my last entry before expiry of my METV and I've gotta go out of Thailand and back in before Xmas to get another 60 days. Flight prices are pretty crazy around that time of the year. Thinking if I should fly from BKK to KL in Malaysia and back on the same day for 7,000 baht return or do a flight from BKK to Udon Thani for 3,500 baht return then Grab/Indrive taxi for the one hour journey to Nong Khai Friendship Bridge, cross over to Laos and come back the same way. Laos eVisa costs about 1,800 baht. and the Grab/Indrive taxi will cost about 1,200 both ways. So about 6,500 baht to do the BKK to Udon to Laos and back. Pretty much similar to flying to KL and back. What would you choose if you had those options? Looking at doing the whole thing via one day so no overnight stays at a hotel.

I'd imagine those foreign managers want to live the dream of staying in Pattaya but don't have any money so they decide they want to become a manager, get a small amount of baht to live here and ogle the girls for free.

He may well get the "it's high season, too many people sorry. Come back 3-4 days before stamp expiry" just like I did last week when I went for an extension. Mind you, that wasn't a retirement extension but considering how many old folks are in Pattaya living on retirement visas, it's high season every single day of the year for that type of visa extension lol

Don't come before 3-4 days before the expiry date of you will be sent packing and told back to come back at the "appropriate" days.
