My wife got an email a couple of days ago telling her that a booster will be available for her ( and me) at Bangsue after 22nd July, as that is 6 months from our last vaccine shot at Bangsue. The choice stated is Pfizer or Moderna.

Chiang Rai man killed by cement carrying train in Saraburi
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand
No a pleasant ending, RIP. Must be a daily occurance to have close calls or worse if you are a train driver here. -
The cops love to speculate .... "the foreigner died because he didn't know the road and was speeding". How do they know just how many times that this young foreigner had ridden on that section of road. They have absolutely no idea how many times he had ridden that road unless he had only just arrived in the country. Much easier than checking to see if there were any other contributing factors that led to the accident, such as road surface conditions, oil on the road, other drivers etc.

Anutit should make his mask out of plastic bags and make sure that he gets a perfect seal. Maybe Ferrari Joe can assist him. Thais doen't need a mandate to mask up and foreigners will or wont mask up based on their beliefs. Thailand really does need to move on from the Covid mentality. This disease is globally "here to stay" and I don't want to mask up for another 20 years or so. Vaccine as needed and move on. God help the foreigners if Anutin ever manages to climb over his useless mates and reach the Prime Minister position.

Baht’s current slide is a grim reminder of its crash 25 years ago

Time for me to get another $ USD contract then, to make up for the money I lost transferring from $USD to baht on the last contract. Luckily I held back 200K to see what the exchange rate did. -
A bit of naivety from the student, I hope the Indonesians aren't too strict. I never had an interest in drugs luckily but I came from a big family and my other 5 siblings all smoked copious amounts of weed and everyone of them eventually tried stronger drugs, buying and selling and growing for sale. I think legalising the weed is going to lead to further drug abuse. Alcohol isn't much better and I was a big drinker thinking it was better than the drugs. I don't drink anymore either, because I never found the off switch, which was my weakness.

Should Thailand buy oil and gas from Russia and Iran?
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ukraine earns money now from Russian oil and gas being pumped through Ukraine. Thailand should create business relationships with countries that benefit the Thai people. Ukraine has many supporters and wont begrudge Thailands decision. Ukraine allows the continued pumping of Russian oil and gas through its sovereign land for its own reasons and wouldn't stop if Thailand made a request for Ukraine to cease pumping Russia's oil and gas. Russia is in the wrong morally in my view but I have learnt that morals vary everywhere and my opinion is only mine. -
Leading Thai doctors calling for mask mandate to be reinstated
Aussieroaming replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I've had covid twice and the second event came after my 3rd booster and I was wearing a mask wherever I went. Plus I have my paranoid Thai wife making me wash my hands endlessly. So my take is that if its gonna get you then its gonna get you. I still wear a mask when I'm out, more to make the Thais more comfortable than for any supposed medicinal benefit. I thought that the whole exit strategy from the pandemic was to get vaccinated in order to lessen covid affects and then build up immunity through contraction of the virus. -
Thailand does have some nice high end resorts, that's a fact. However the high end experience ends the second that the tourist steps beyond the resort bubble and into the real Thailand. So Anutin either needs to hold his high end tourists under house arrest in order to hide the real Thailand or Anutin needs to raise all local standards and enforcement of laws inThailand, until he can actuually guarrantee the high end tourism experience that he currently fantasizes about. Walking past piles of stinking rubbish with rats scurrying over them is hardly high end, neither is stepping over the filthy grease spots all around the street carts. Then catch local transport to the beach via the polluted traffic jams, that's a nice way to spend time.

Big reaction to rising airfares from Bangkok
Aussieroaming replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
6 months ago I flew BKK to LHR and return on Singapore airlines for 68 000 baht return in Business Class. Now its about 5 times that rate at 320 000 baht, totally rediculous. -
Dream on Bangkok, you can put lipstick on a pig but at the end of the day its still a pig.

I only know about winners in the Australian lottery. My ex father in law won second division about 15 years ago, which was about $AU100 000 at the time. His brother won first division, which was $AU1.5M about 1 year before that. 2 years ago my brother won first division $AU5.8 M on a powerball game. I play the Thai lottery and have never won a cracker.

All of these motocy companies lack control of the delivery riders and their bikes, with resultant high numbers of motocycles or scooters that lack maintenance and being riden by people who have no regards for other road users and in many cases lack insurance. Grab is just one of the errant companies operating, all of these delivery companies need to take ownership of their riders and equipment. Regular licence checks, bike inspections, insurance checks and police checks are required in order to regulate the industry.

If everyone tests negative for covid then it's likely the flu, remember that flu we used to suffer from yearly. Be careful about speading fake news about covid outbreaks, otherwide you might end up under repressive government restrictions again. It seems like some people want to continue to feel like they are surviving an ongoing pandemic.
