Aircon for Solar Battery & Inverter Room
I don't know much about pool chemicals but if chlorine is on the list the gas it gives off, can and will play havoc with pretty well all metals including unprotected connectors and other electronic components. I got to know this from working on chlorine dispensing equipment for Thames Water. Couldn't go near it without having a gas mask at the ready.

Aircon for Solar Battery & Inverter Room
If your battery and inverter room is fully enclosed, the first option needs to be ventilation. In my installation, for example my inverter, vents out through a hole in the wall and new air comes in through a hole in the door. Both holes are covered with 1mm SS mesh to prevent ingress from uninvited guests. This helps a lot with temperature and humidity. Since I upgraded my solar panels/combiner boxes some time ago, I've noticed a small increase in temperature from the charge controllers which can get hot to touch. I am considering adding some dedicated ventilation for them but overall the room temperature rarely increases above 30°C which is OK for my batteries.

How about a solar car port on a budget?
That'll be the Trump lot I expect. They have mandated the resurrection of a dead coal fired station in Colorado. It'll cost the taxpayer millions to produce unneeded electricity. Meantime Happy New Year to you.

That thought crossed my mind too when I saw the size of the people close to it near the wheels.

Kim Unveils ‘Nuclear Sub’ as North Korea Ramps Up Threats
Amazing what you can do with a few bits of chicken wire and some papier maché. It looks quite realistic too.

Lazada deliveries
I live in Buriram province about 80km from the border. Shopee have declared my area to be in the red (danger?) zone therefore no deliveries. However Lazada have no such qualms and delivered all my bits 'n pieces with no problems.

Agent assistance with bank account ?
Looking at other topics, BBL has quite a poor reputation at the moment Check out "BBL has 400k locked in for four months".

Bangkok Bank have locked my 400,000 baht balance for 4 months?
My understanding is that the money in bank method requires that such money should be available to be withdrawn at any time. Clearly for those few months this is not the case. This should be a concern for immigration police, however, immigration are possibly not aware that this money has been made "unavailable". I think BBL thinks it is helping the account holder to by ensuring funds are ready for the immigration requirement but, for example, what if those funds are suddenly required for an unexpected medical emergency?

QR Codes Use Gone Mad ?
No good? That depends if you are a bank or a customer. From the banks viewpoint, if the QR code is used then fewer employees are required and ATMs become obsolete. The whole system becomes automated and bank profits soar. From the customer point of view, it becomes more difficult to rectify any errors made due to local branches disappearing.

Trump Steps In as Thailand-Cambodia Conflict Escalates
Just a small point which my lovely Thai wife made to me. The original cause of the dispute is down to Thai corruption. Apparently some Cambodians wanted to move onto land on the Thai side of the border. Money changed hands and houses were built. That is how we got Cambodians claiming bits of Thailand. Now Thailand wants those bits of land back and the proverbial has hit the fan. Trump is infinitely familiar with sharp practices and so would be well placed to understand the intricacies of this situation. Unfortunately, Trumps agenda is 100% selfish and he will only find a solution which makes him look good.

solar garden lights
Absolutely, but when I bought mine from Thaiwatsadu they were offering two for the price of one. It's noticeable that my local store has stopped selling them now.

solar garden lights
I bought some of those UFO garden lights from Thaiwatsadu and two out of three failed after a couple of weeks. It was not too difficult to dismantle them and sus out the problem. The BMS was irresponsibly miniscule and the batteries were on their last legs. The remote sensor was also a bit iffy so I replaced pretty well the entire innards with some much more suitable bits 'n pieces. Being as how I'm a clever old sod they are all now working "brilliantly" and have been for well over six months now. I think they are now as they should have been when they left China. Was it worth the effort? Not really but the original financial commitment plus my personal curiosity/dissatisfaction made me rise to the challenge.

How about a solar car port on a budget?
Crossy is saying that he is using 22% DoD of his ESS which will be good for many years before they are faded to an irresponsibly low level. It is sensible to restrict nightly use to around 30% to give you a goodly life expectancy of your batteries. For example, I use lead carbons which, at 30% DoD would yield a life expectancy of about 10 years. I suspect Crossy's batteries would be good for somewhere in the region of 15 years or more although I seem to recall some of the batteries were once involved in playing golf and therefore not quite so full when installed.

How about a solar car port on a budget?
Would you be running all those appliances in sunshine hours or in battery darkness?
-
Solar today? You must be joking.
For me it's a question of economics. Having a PEA connection is necessary because I have a small rice mill with a chunky motor. My solar will run it but the stall current would warm up the inverter and cause a few trips. Getting some extra solar panels and a bigger inverter would fix that but the cost of doing that would far exceed the cost of ten years of my occasional PEA power. The mill only gets used intermittently during a couple of months of the year. ps Let me know how many 5kg bags you would like and I can arrange it for you.

What age can a Thai leave school and work?
It seem that parental responsibility of ensuring their kids get the best education is lacking. I'm talking about village families not the wealthy whose kids get a much better upbringing.. Parental responsibility seems to start at birth and end ten minutes later.

Thailand's Air Pollution Worsens Amidst Continued Crop Burning
I agree with your reply but I would add that, where I am, the sugar cane used to be burnt until the processing factories were ordered by the government to do something about the burnt product. The result was that the processing factories made a lower offer for the burnt cane claiming, possibly quite rightly, that the sugar content was inferior. It was then economically viable to use a combine harvester to do the business. That also reduced manual labour costs but ensured no pre harvest foliage burning. This is fine so far but the farmer was then left with many Rai of foliage dumped out the back of the harvester. This residue would need to be cleared quickly to make way for the next planting. So we then come back to burning the stuff. It could be collected for compost but who is going to pay for that. Cane foliage takes about a year to break down into useful compost and there is insufficient financial reward to make that worthwhile.

Err. Do you think the police might have been fairly close at hand following this erant pickup truck?

Thailand's Air Pollution Worsens Amidst Continued Crop Burning
There is a problem which can be resolved by paying the farmers a decent living wage. Burning sugar cane to remove the foliage or burning the residue after rice harvesting is done because, in the case of sugar cane, it saves labour costs and in the case of rice residue, it saves the cost of ploughing. Taking legal action against these low paid farmers is entirely the wrong attitude. They don't have money for paying fines and locking them up is entirely non-productive. There is a saying: You need a solicitor only a few times in your life. You need a doctor quite a few times in your life. You need a farmer three times every day and yet the farmer is by far the lowest paid. The government should make sure the farmers are paid sufficiently to keep pollution to a minimum.

Solar today? You must be joking.
No rivers near me but I will need to don waders if I want to cross the lawn to my workshop. Panels should be ok until the water gets deeper than 4 metres but way before that the inverter is only good for 1 metre.

Solar today? You must be joking.
Not a good time of the year if you are "enjoying" solar. My battery system is good for a couple of cloudy days but this past week or so.......... I've had to make do with PEA for 2 days on and off and today is way too wet 'n gloomy for my preferred power. How's the rest of you solarists getting by?

Aha. So you bought the expensive one then. A magnet for the Cheap Charlie pickpockets in Thailand.

Not so hard to believe in Pattaya's case. Hiring a jet ski is a nice little earner for the less than honest owners...........

Dealing with the dishonesty of Lazada
Sounds good. I, like you, am also not a scan payer but my wife is so I simply transfer funds to her bank so she can do the QR code payment. When we are not at home, our local village store does the honours. I will only do COD.
