Upgrade Solar Inverter+ Batteries now or wait
Muhendis replied to eddysacc's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Ouch! At those sort of prices you're right to go for the LiFePO4's I paid just over 9K each for mine including taxes and delivery. I bought them direct from CS Power just short of a year ago. -

OK 2,000 cycles would probably be at 80% dod. That's still good for 5½ years My target dod is 30% which is good for about 10 and a bit years. Here's the spec sheet for my batteries. You will need to scroll down to get to the interesting bits. https://www.csbatterycn.com/hdc12-250-12v-250ah-fast-c-lead-carbon-battery_p289.html Note the temperature range and charge acceptance (speed of charge) figures. I have 12 of them at 48v which gets me 36kW My inverter is home brew 8kW low frequency. Charge controllers are 2x60A Solar panels are 2 strings of 6 panels 550W each. -

Perhaps I should mention, when looking at lead carbon battery specs., watch out for the maximum life expectancy. This will be either 15 or 20 years. The difference between the two is the mode of operation. The VRLA type will be 15 years and the 20 year battery will be gel. The life expectancy is based on standby use with trickle charge. In all other respects except one, they perform as well as LiFePO4's. The exception is: They are heavy. You wouldn't want one of them in your smart phone. -

It is highly unlikely that a sodium lithium battery will ever be invented. Sodium and lithium are in close proximity to each other on the periodic table so it would not really make sense to include both elements in a battery. I think what you mean are sodium ion batteries. These are available now but it may take some time for them to appear on Lazada. They are currently being fitted to some new cars. You might like to look at lead carbon batteries. I have these in my storage system they are a fairly recent innovation and quite cheap too. So far mine are doing exceptionally well. I won't go into detail here because all the information is readily available on Google. -
A very simple response from a very simple person. Trump thinks Kim Jong Un misses him. That says a lot for how Trump thinks. The North Korean dictatorship is what Trump appreciates and would like to have so very much for himself in America. Trump has a liking for that Russian dictatorial killer Putin who is directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds and thousands of his own russian citizens in Ukraine. It would seem that Susanlea would be happy in an America the same as that. The view that Bidden et. al. is an extreme left person tells me that many right wing Americans don't know their left from their right. The democrats of America are, in comparison with the rest of the world, extremely center thinking people who have a desire for what is best for the entire population.

Bangkok ordered to pay over 12 billion baht to BTS within 180 days

And? Read the full text of my post and try to understand. The cost of living in Bangkok is likely to rise due to this outstanding payment. Big Mango? You live in a big mango? If you're talking about a slang term for Bangkok it's a great place to come home from.........🙂 -

I am very pleased to confess that I don't live in Bangkok........... BMA revenues are derived from its own regular income and supplementary fund. Sources of regular revenue come from local taxes, fees, fines, permits, service charges, rental of BMA assets, utilities, and enterprises. Supplementary funds come from the government's subsidies and the interest of the BMA reserve. About the oxygen: Another point to consider is that, at a depth of 3,000 metres the pressure is about 298 atmospheres which is a princely 4,380 psi So the oxygen would be extremely compressed as it is produced. I am surprised that electrolysis works under those conditions. I am guessing there must be quite a significant amount of energy to split water at that depth. In the original article I didn't see any figures or estimates of amounts of oxygen produced or the amount of power to produce it. I entirely agree with this

Have you never heard of a breakfast bar? We have one in our home and I made my own stools for it. Fixed height, swivel and shaped big enough for my wife's backside.

I am disappointed that these, so called scientists, failed to understand a few basic electrical/chemical rules regarding the generation of electricity from ionic interaction. It happens everywhere around us. Where do you think our internal nervous system gets it's electricity from. The sea is a source of sodium which, on the periodic table, is not so far from lithium. Add a few more elements and you will generate a current flow hence electrolysis.

House passes supplementary budget bill to fund “digital wallet
Muhendis replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A big, costly mistake and no doubt about it. Thailand economy is on the slippery slope. Factories are closing and yet the government is as determined as ever to blindly go down the wrong road. Small wonder the Baht is going down. -
Please be aware that calculating everything in KWh is just a tad misleading. The maximum current at 220vac determines the size of the inverter required. For example; Toaster 800W Fridge 400W Fan 50W Air con 1500W Total 2750W Current required from the inverter would be 12.5A This tells you what the size the inverter needs to be to power all those items simultaneously. To have enough power for this example you would probably need only one inverter. Before you can even think about how much the installation would cost, you really need to check your equipment rating plates and work out which ones may be taking power at the same time. Then you will know what equipment you need.

Traveling from Thailand to the UK on a cargo ship.
Muhendis replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Not a happy ending to this story then ☹️ Many many years ago there was a thriving trade in passengers traveling by banana boat. The passengers would have the same facilities as the officers plus their own cabin. The ships stewards would take care of them and the cook would make sure food was good quality. Passengers would have access to the officers mess. I have no idea if this is still possible but, whilst comfortable enough, it would not be up to cruise standards by a long way. -

When I were a lad, we used to do that too. We called it "knock out ginger" or something like that. We stopped when someone asked "What if the old man indoors falls down the stairs trying to answer the door"? -
You need to be much more specific about type of land use, it's location relative to electricity, water and main roads. Here's an example. Agricultural land, which is a bit remote but with good access near me in Buriram, is going for about 300k/Rai at the moment. In the village that would be very cheap. A recent purchase there was ½Rai for 400k with good access and utilities but away from the main road. In the city you would need millions.

Yep. That's the Indian way. Same happened to me at Mumbai. What a dark dismal place that was. That was at the time of the Icelandic volcano eruption quite a few years ago. I somehow doubt there has been any improvement.
