  1. Could be done but I thought this forum was for the frugal approach.
  2. Mount a mobile phone on a three port solenoid valve so that when the mobile phone rings the valve will open allowing the pumped water to return to the point of origin thus no longer filling the tank. Said solenoid valve is powered from the pump solar panel and reverts to tank filling state when night falls. Ok back to serious solutions.
  3. In central heating systems which I once did for a short time, The centrifugal pump would have a small'ish pipe connected from it's input to its output. so that if the system pressure increased due to all the radiator valves being closed, the water would then choose the bypass pipe. Water likes to take the route of least resistance so under normal conditions the water would go down the larger bore pipe and fill the tank. Very little would take the bypass route. When the tank is full the ballcock or ball valve, yet to be fitted, will close and the water then takes the easier route from the pump output back to the input or source.
  4. That sounds about right. If he had been going really slow the back wheels would have dropped and the car would have stopped with the wheels hanging over the edge.
  5. Yes that's the guy He also went to Ukraine ???? ................................Then he came back ☹️
  6. Yeah. That's why we like to create as much enclosure space as possible. Getting wires and fingers into a tight space is really quite a needless struggle but what you have achieved looks good and professional.

  8. That is so true. It took seven years to finally get my normal rate meter fitted but would you believe it took 'em just ten minutes to remove it the other day. My dearly beloved forgot to pay the January bill of 82Bht. When you want something forever is the shortest time. On the other end of the scale, greased lightning looks so slow.
  9. Oh dear. I think I misread the headline. The word is "tough" not "trough".
  10. "88% of Thai bank accounts have less than 50,000 THB" The other 12% are Thai government workers and police I expect.
  11. A promise for the future is absolutely fishing for votes. A sincere government would make this pay rise happen within a few weeks.
  12. Wow. Such an amount of connectivity is awesome. How do you find the time to be unconnected?
  13. I don't blame them either. With the control steps in 25% increments I would wonder if my home domestic use would also be impacted.
  14. Yeah they use wireless controlled relays to control household power export. I think you probably are aware of this in your Sofar inverter.
  15. Note in another thread that many commercial users are installing solar to reduce energy bills from PEA. Can you imagine what will happen when all electricity is from individual solar installations? PEA will be trying to supply electricity to ........ well......... nobody. Another scenario is that if every solar home were to export their excess power then what would happen to the grid voltage?
  16. Well no I think it's about the same. I am from the UK where the standard riser height is 8" and the tread 10". So the half height would be the same as your 100mm. It took a bit of getting used to but the amount of knee joint movement to get up and down was very small.
  17. I would be interested to know more. Which is cheaper my ToT fibre connection @ 300 Bht/month or a mobile phone hotspot.
  18. Yeah I first came across this in my local village. The risers were half height and the treads more than double width. Brilliant idea.
  19. Age is of no consequence when you want to enjoy yourself doing what you want with your life. All that is needed is the will and the money and the inclination by those around to let you get on with it without criticism.
  20. It will probably end up as a solar panel (measured in Watts) tax added on to the house tax. This was once said about radio. An intimate friend of Faraday once described to me how, when Faraday was endeavouring to explain to Gladstone and several others an important new discovery in science Gladstone’s only commentary was ‘but, after all, what use is it?” ‘Why, sir,’ replied Faraday, ‘there is every probability that you will soon be able to tax it!’”
  21. Legislation. If the consumer is using solar when they could be using the available grid power, the government aka PEA could get ratty about loss of income and legislate to ensure they get something out of it.
  22. I can imagine PEA getting pea'd off enough about this that, at some future date, they will ask the government to ban ALL solar installations unless approved by them. Instalations not connected to the grid will also be targeted because of potential loss of revenue.
