  1. As an ex fireman I thought that, but Thai fireman are flameproof.
  2. I don't know about it being harmless. According to WHO figures in 2019 207,500 people died from Measles.
  3. I need to get my Marriage Certificate translated and notarized for my pension provider. No hurry but the wife will need it when I'm dead so she gets a percentage of my pension. So I need a name and address of a suitable company obviously the cheaper the better as long as it's done properly. The only dealing I've had with a lawyer here many years ago didn't end well and it turned out he wasn't qualified. So I don't wont to make the same mistake again. With the number of expats in Pattaya there must be some of you who can recommend a descent company or individual. Thanks
  4. I don't think I've ever come across a cart with a Lithium batter. They are normally standard car batteries. Some years ago a fire at the Navy Course in Plutaluang wiped out loads of carts in there parking /recharging area. and they were definitely standard batteries.
  5. An idiot, just like that politician years ago who said the smog over Chang Mai was caused by Korean BBQ s.
  6. But you still need to renew your passport, and if your in your 70's or 80's you might be looking at an easier way to do it.

    Tony's Gym

Tony has reopened a gym on 3rd Road. Does anyone know if I can use my Lifetime Membership Card which I've had for 15years. I was surprized that I still had it. I thought I threw it away when the original gym shut down.
  8. Looking at the colour of the water coming out of the pipe I'm not sure I want it anyway.
  9. During the last couple of weeks I have been amazed at the number of people running red lights.. The other day I saw two Baht Buses drive through 2 red lights on pedestrian crossings. Nothing unusual in that you might think but there were people on the crossing at the time.
  10. I don't know if Tony is a crook (I suspect he is) but compared to the lot we have now he is a saint.
  11. I have only shown them my electricity bill. That's always been enough when I go to Jomtien for my certificate. Theoretically it's free but I'll always paid 300 Baht.
  12. AKA Almost never-ending story. Staring The Thepprasit Road Works Everything because they have dug up the roads, pavements, curb and drains. Everywhere because they have managed to have roadworks from one end of Thepprasit on both sides. All at once because they haven't managed to complete one section of the road or pavement before starting another section. We are coming up to 3 years since this roadworks started. I doubt if the is one section of the road completed. Parts of the North side of the road is complete up to where it gets to the curb. But the pavement is another matter. It is a disgrace and our wonderful Mayor doesn't do anything.
  13. Why should they. They have enough problems getting around than wondering if the main entrance to Walking Street will restrict them. The solution is a police force that upholds the law. Not to restrict anyone with legal access. And as for the view about whining to much.. You should walk in somebodies shoes before writing such rubbish.
  14. Coming from Jomtien I pay 10 Baht. If I go past Pattaya Klang I pay 20. It seems fair to me.
  15. Bit confused there . Patong is a long way away and on the other side of the gulf.
  16. I agree with you. I much prefer the written word. I miss Roosters written comments at the weekend.
  17. I had this happen to me. No fault of mine. A friend made a mistake. It took them weeks to unfreeze it.
  18. I often wonder how they catch over stayers. In all the years I've been here I have never had anything to do with the police (apart from being checked on my motorbike). I would have thought someone on overstay would keep a very low profile.
  19. I hate steps, stairs are not too much of a problem because of the hand rail. I try to avoid steps whenever possible or ask the person I'm with to hold my hand to help me balance.
  20. They are not allowed to vote but, they should be counted when the EC (or whoever) workout the size of the constituency. After all everyone will be affected by what the politicians do.
  21. I always draw my money at a bank during opening hours. That way if I do have a problem I can get it sorted right away.
  22. My problem is not walking (I still play golf) but balance. I find that riding my motorbike doesn't feel as safe as its used too. So I'm going to buy one of those 3 wheeled electric scooters a lot slower but much more stable.

    Ear Wax

Why is is it so difficult to find out how much it costs to get your ears syringed to clean out impacted wax.The best information I could find is 7 years old. There are some reports later of clinics and hospitals but nobody gives any details on prices, Unless its somewhere like BHP which is over 3,000 Baht. Any information would be gratefully received. If its any help I will be putting drops in my ears for the next few days to help.
