Well, that wasn't expected at all....

Given that chances are high I will arrive in Thailand this weekend, what was the last lock down like? I remember there was a curfew, no nightlife, and random foreigners were busted throwing private parties - but were there more restrictions or could you at least go get food and supplies during the day?

We'll be in quarantine until mid-January anyway, but wondering what happens after...

Good luck sure you will be able to get food. If you travelling to Thailand for family reasons understandable otherwise don't bother wait until 2022

In order to prevent the arrival of a more virulent strain of the virus, the Thai authorities should also follow the example of the countries of the European Union and prohibit the access of the kingdom to the English citizen

Thai borders have been closed since last April there are no direct passenger flights from UK to Thailand since then except a few repatriation flights of Thai Nationals operated by Thai Airways on behalf Thai Government. Till this day the situation remains the same. Covid however knows no borders and will appear until vaccination programme implemented even with borders closed

And that represents major discounting. Prior to covid it was 4,000 to 5,000 each way! They cannot fill the planes now, so a minor degree of humility and common sense has set in. The BA monopoly is a scourge on the land.

Don't forget BA built the Airport in Koh Samui. They are providing a good reliable service without profit. The coming problem with Koh Samui is the pollution caused by to many cars and to many tourists now is the time to restructure and tax the fat cats who have the lions share of money generated by tourism they have big houses and host hugh wedding parties

    sure.

The months between November and April are considered peak season in Phuket. Temperatures hover in the lower 80s and the oceans are relatively calm, (especially when compared to the strong currents characteristic of monsoon season). Still, peak season also ushers in peak accommodation rates.

November is low season Peak and High seasons beginning mid December. If you are lucky to be in Phuket during November you will be able to obtain accomodation at very reduced rates. The main reason is just before Christmas and New Year holidays when many people like to holiday also school holiday period in Europe. Thailand is tropical so 80 F not not unusual all year

A lot of negative comments as usual.

Thailand will bounce back faster than most. I cant see many risking their families health to go to covid ravaged Europe or the USA.

Personally i know one retired couple that will come and stay in five star resorts for 3-4 months like they do every year.
I have 6-7 friends who will bring their families over, 4 star types.

And 4 “single” mates, two of who usually come 3-5 times per year,  1200ish per night room types.

All can’t wait to get over here again.

If the vaccine is in Thailand by May as planned it will be back to business as usual by November high season.

Light at the end of the tunnel now.

Interesting are you sure November is high season may be you have wrong country as from my experience very low season
