Really!
A lot of nonsense the Samui Tourism Industry relies on workers from the Issan many of whom have gone home long ago so whether or not those remaining in Samui are all vaccinated will not be enough to open up to International Tourism. The Islands Airport can only accommodate smaller aircraft mainly unsuitable for International tourists
If these fat cat tourism officials had any knowledge whatsoever of their industry they would not come up with such crackpot schemes. By comparison the Airport of Phuket although on the mainland can accommodate bigger aircraft and such a scheme makes more sense but would still encounter difficulties with travellers from the rest of the country.
Opening for International Tourists must be on a whole country basis so get on with vaccination programme as soon as vaccines become available.

Vaccination programme will not cover most of population this year so looks like no substantial International tourism until 2022 earliest

It is unlikely Thailand will have been able to vaccinate sufficient Thais to reopen without quarantine by October 1st even if sufficient vaccines have become available.

This will exclude travellers from the UK who will probably have to wait until next year if infection rates have minimised by then. The vaccination programme for Thailand is ambiguous as does not state in addition to health workers number of at risk Thais who will need to be vaccinated. Judging by the quantities or vaccine's ordered it will be impossible to vaccinate so many Thais this year
-
Interesting this will exclude UK as they are giving second dose after 12 weeks instead of 3 weeks recommended by manufacturers. Also Thailand is unlikely to be able to vaccinate so many of its population by October this year and must take into consideration its citizens who will not accept vaccination which will probably be high as they will not accept they are at risk bearing relatively low infection rates. Guess no substantial international tourism this year

The tourism crisis is likely to continue until vaccine rolled out which according this report will not be before 2022

If Thailand wants foreign tourism firstly it has to invest in vaccines for its population which it has been slow and reluctant to pay for, secondly it has to make Thailand an attractive holiday destination without quarantine, stop all this talk about X number of tourists will spend X amount this makes Thailand looks greedy ready to rip off tourists once again, fourthly recognise Thailand is competing for fewer tourist with nearby countries which are now cheaper with more modern and better facilities, fifthly make it easier to enter without any conditions or visa for a longer period of 60 days.

Thailand must concentrate on a realistic plan to vaccinate the whole population which due present shortage of vaccines this is unlikely to occur until next year.

TAT office in London is CLOSED in accordance Covid restrictions.

if you can not afford to buy a few thousand baht smart phone after spending thousands of £ to get to Thailand its a bad show, no one has to travel to Thailand, excuses to the rules can always be found
Think before you make such rediculus comments. Smart phone cost is equivalent to 2 week holiday in Thailand. Then add roaming charges you will soon realise sorry have to go to another country for your holiday not many people are millionaires like you.

Last time I used roaming on my phone when returned to UK received roaming bill of 4,800,000 Baht the cost of a Villa so will not be returning if installation of this app mandatory.

No significant tourism until quarantine requirement dropped meanwhile Thailand needs to expedite its vaccination programme and aim for reopening for International Tourism hopefully sometime next year. TAT has to realise that other countries vaccination programmes are well advanced so incentives will be needed to attract tourists making it easier to get visas and drop a lot of the red tape at least extend visa waiver permanently to 45/60 days

Thailand can probably control Covid by keeping borders closed and test, trace and isolate any local infections which should be minimal. International Tourism is unlikely for many years.
-
It is to early to see if vaccines actually reduce infections to manageable levels. It is probably still best to require Covid Free Certificate before travel which could be issued by Airlines before departure. Meanwhile looks like no International travel between continents this year after which who knows how many airlines will have survived so travel may also be restricted by the then available capacity and price which likely to be very much more than precovid. The tourism cash cow will not exist for many years if ever.

Thailand should concentrate manufacturing vaccines as it appears owing constant mutations it will be necessary for an annual booster
-
Good start hope they will be able to increase rate of vaccinations as soon as vaccine production expedited. Don't forget two doses are recommended.

How many people actually drive without a license if police actually checked this when they catch nearly everyone when they check for motor tax I expect they would find nearly everyone at least outside of Bangkok does not have a driving license.

Too early to consider reopening for Tourism. World vaccination programme must get under way as a first priority to get the viras under control and hopefully stop mutations. We are going to have to live with this dreadful disease probably for many years and consequently health restrictions before travel will have to be put in place
-
Expediting and expanding vaccination programme is recommended if sufficient vaccines can be procured. It is however too early to considsr dropping quarantine until the viras is under control as it may mutate to make vaccines ineffective. Best at this stage to plan reopening for international tourism next year.

If you are lucky to be offered the vaccine strongly recommend you take it up so far the side affects are minimal and nothing like actually catching Covid as if you have ever seen anyone with Covid you will appreciate this is a terrible disease sometimes with a slow and very painful death

No one really knows why some Asian Countries have fared better in controlling the viras but of course additional deaths have not been taken into account nor has testing been carried out except where flare up have occured. Let's hope wet markets will not be reopened as these were the cause of the Wuhan outbreak

Tourism reopening: Four phases on the cards - No quarantine at all from October

Let's see what nearby countries do. Thailand will be unable to vaccinate sufficient numbers by the end of this year so this must be expedited. The big problem is number of new infections being reported which does not confirm that it is a safe country so far as Covid is concerned. Unless free and compulsory no one knows how many Thais will come forward to be vaccinated.
