It is ridiculous to keeping harping on about international tourism vaccines have not been proved to stop you infected others also Thailand's own vaccination programme will not be sufficient to vaccinate enough people this year.
-
Tourism is unlikely to return this year as many countries are being devastated by the viras so even if controlled by vaccines which are in very short supply this will not be until 2022/2023
-
Thailand is a victim of its own success in controlling the first wave of the viras which has resulted in complacency as it did not anticipate the second wave which is now occurring and has delayed procurement of vaccines.

The reality is there is unlikely to be any international tourism until last quarter of 2021 earliest. Meanwhile it is time to restructure to a more greener/leaner tourism giving good value for money. Extend the visa waiver to 60 days and encourage return to land of smiles and welcome like it used to be.

There have been deaths in Ireland due to the vaccine and there are several reports of extreme reactions to the vaccine in UK. Uncontrollable body and facial movements being one. The vaccine should not be taken until it is risk free. After all there were only 50 or so deaths from the virus in Thailand. Not worth the risk if you are healthy. 23 people dying in Norway regardless of age or underlying illnesses is too many and near half the total death rate over the whole pandemic in Thailand. If the so called "cure" is as deadly as the virus then i'll take my chances with the virus.
It is not clear how many deaths owing the viras have occurred in Thailand however if you refer to the additional deaths that occurred last year the actual death toll is probably much higher. If you see people dying from Covid you will appreciate any risks with the vaccines are really immaterial

What this expert has not said is that the Chinese Vaccine is far more expensive as it is supplied on a with profit basis and probably with strings attached whereas the AZ vaccine is being supplied on a without profit basis whilst the pandemic persists also it is easy to handle and it will be manufactured in Thailand under license thanks to the UK Government

The viras does not seem to affect Asians so much but Thailand should not be complacent as it is mutating all the time. The latest outbreak emanated from a wet market same as Wuhan these markets should be closed permanently.

Covid test is not really a big deal. It would be a good idea for everyone to be tested on a regular basis. Covid is everywhere.

It's just the way Beijing prices them. Lower price for friends, higher price if you're not.
From your article:
China rarely supplies anything without strings attached. Unfortunately vaccines are in short supply so if you can be vaccinated in a private hospital this is unlikely to be cheap. Australia has announced their borders will be closed until next year earliest expect Thailand to do the same. International tourism unlikely until world vaccination programme underway hopefully next year.

Unfortunately Covid vaccines are not readily available. The more Covid vaccines that can be produced and found to be safe for use the better for everyone. Vaccines are the only way that Covid can be controlled. Vaccines are so important as the viras is mutating all the time becoming more and more infectous.

If this is correct it is an admission Covid is very much present in Thailand and therefore not unreasonable. It should also include requirement to be Covid vaccinated which vaccine unlikely to be readily available for some years.
-
Until large numbers of the world's population are vaccinated there will be Covid and no normal life for anyone. The immediate problem is shortage of vaccines which will have to be procured by Governments of countries that can afford to pay first for their Citizens and yes for all those that cannot pay the quicker vaccines are rolled out in every country the better for everyone.

Thailand may become a covid hot spot as surrounding countries are unable to arrange vaccination programmes if this materalises international tourism is unlikely probably for several years

Tourists already pay Bht 1000 departure tax. Need some clarification what arrival tax of Bht 300 covers is it to fund medical insurance whilst in Thailand?
Since there is unlikely to be any substantial tourists arrivals until 2022 suggest more should be done to encourage tourism when it is safe to do by way of incentives and extension of visa waiver scheme for stays up to 60 days

Thailand still has not managed to secure sufficient vaccines for its own citizens. Expats are unlikely to be able to secure a covid vaccine privately in Thailand this year as all vaccines are in short supply. This is one of the perils of living abroad

Far to early to suggest Songkran will proceed as normal as this is not correct. Please wait for the vaccine to be rolled out meanwhile safety measures should be kept in place. Let's hope by the end of the year there should be some normality

Forget about international tourism this cannot return before 2022 earliest and then on a much smaller eco friendly scale. Meanwhile the Government should invest in alternative industries

Do you really have such a low attitude towards the USA & UK?
So you wouldn't want the Covid Vaccines from these countries to get you out of the pandemic which being relied upon by Thailand especially the Oxford Vaccine to be manufactured in Thailand on a without profit basis.

Did they enter the country using the STV?

The only other option to non-Thais is to pay privately for it.... Like everything else we end up doing.
Me personally, if don't get it in UK, then if the chance arises, I would opt to get privately.
There is a shortage of all Covid vaccines. Available vaccines are being purchased by Governments for their nationals most at risk. If your DOB correct you are unlikely to get the vaccine in the UK until 2022
-
Thailand has been too complacent in dropping CV safety measures now lockdown again let's hope the outbreak will be contained. No one has said whether this is the more infectious new strain first reported to WHO by the UK

Vaccination is the only long term solution to beating Covid and this must be a priority. Meanwhile to restrict pandemic it is recommended strict safety measures kept in place especially over the New Year

Why would foreigners want to come to Thailand vaccinated or not. Tourism will not begin to restart until 2022 earliest meanwhile Thailand should concentrate on vaccinating its own people urgently

TAT advocates "Sexy tours" for "quality tourists" to boost Thailand's recovery

Think I would give this idea a miss. Would seem a sure way to spend the viras. TAT must accept no international tourism until at least next year and avoid any promotions for return of mass tourism which very damaging to the environment
