Another batch announced of 44 people , on 12 March. All seem to be female. This time to my great shock I was on that list !

More fires this year in the hills west of Hang Dong. Last year that area didn't seem to have such a problem. Fires in Chiang Dao, Phrao , Lampang and just about everywhere else. Seems like this year is a free for all.
It is on the bottom of the priority list for govt if it even made the list at all.

430 in CM this morning , <deleted> that its coming from other countries . It drops in the evening (if there is a breeze) and starts going again during the night. You can smell the smoke (and its not smoke in Laos or Burma).
I've got 2 purifiers and the AC going all day.

It sounds like they are giving you a link to a secure url when maybe they don't have a secure connection or maybe they have the secure connection and haven't got it in a place where it forces pages to load as https
It sounds more like it is a problem with how they have set up their website.

I reckon something like this could well be the catalyst for something much bigger, people have learned to live with thievery but playing with lives is something else entirely.....people may have badly misjudged the impacts here.
I don't think anything has been misjudged, it is a case of simply don't care. Pretty much always been like that but sometimes harder to cover up.

Best of luck Nancy. Quite honestly when you take into consideration that car hire would be door to door and not much waiting time anywhere, it takes only a bit longer than a flight. Just play his favourite music on the journey !

There will be people just itching to use this as an excuse to hasten the move to a cashless society.

Don't Thonglor Pet Clinic (Chiang Mai) have the equipment needed. Just a thought as they seem to be the most well equipped.
On the up side it would be easy to get a car hire with driver as they are all crying out for business at the moment.

I don't think it is the company that has gone bust , it is the individual drivers. I doubt they have much margin to put money away. Surely you would need to clear at least 20k a month to cover your costs (every month).
-
This scenario is somewhat inevitable but has been accelerated by the virus. Years of too much competition, pushing down of prices, rising costs, less tourists leads to lower margins.
For the taxis they are all "yellow plate" which is way more expensive to extend the tax/license.
Getting out of the yellow plate is almost impossible and incurs large fees even if they can.

Maybe someone should tell them that you cannot shoot the virus and kill it. What a cluster---- of a PR dept.

How come you escaped the "Reality TV " programmes?

Well of course offering discounts has no effect, if no tourists are coming! I think the years when you could depend on tourism are long over.

It can be tricky getting photos countersigned in Thailand because they don't accept Thai nationals signing even if they have position/job/title etc. But as said above, no need if you look relatively the same.
I did mine last year and don't remember giving any photo ID apart from passport. I got a bank statement with address for proof of address.

After the banking debacle, I wasn't too sure whether I should read this!

It is part of the "Brave New World" 4.0.
Promotion and self promotion through Facebook et al. Especially prevalent in govt. institutions.
My (unanswered) question is where does this approach take society. No debate, no questions, no opinions; only checkboxes and affirmative replies.
Even the lemmings are smart enough to stop before they reach the cliff edge.

Quotehad sent in his men to keep Thailand safe and inspire confidence among Thais and foreign tourists.
Their PR dept. needs a serious overhaul.
However there is almost a sense of satisfaction at how they voluntarily set themselves up for ridicule.

I presume that is a rhetorical question because we all know the answer.
