Wearing a mask I think is a good idea but I feel it can often give people a false sense of security. A lot of effort put on mask wearing but too little on social distancing. Many people I see seem to think they can only catch the disease outside their social circle. Any guard seems to come down when they are with their friends.

I don't think international airmail is happening. I have postponed all mine until situation returns to normal.
Last weeks which should have been OK are looking a bit hit and miss regarding tracking ! Fingers crossed!

My friend and her son probably had it , but couldn't get tested. This was in UK.
Another friend in UK said 4 of her friends have it (ie . tested as having it). She said only normally tested if you are high risk or hospitalised. In my view you need to do massive testing to control it and also massive antibody testing in anyone recovered / think they have recovered from it. Only then can you control it and get useful data to see how it spreads.

It's always been my belief that sooner or later big business would be looking for the opportunity to "mop up" at reduced prices. That seems to be the nature of humans in large scale monopolistic businesses. They do seem to have forgotten that they will probably not survive either after their brief moment of triumph. Winning on the playing field but killing all the grass in the process. No playing field left!
There is something rotten in the whole core process and it needs to change. I have had a feeling about this for the past year or more. My intuition is rarely wrong !

Many landlords in Chiang Mai not charging rent for the near future. There seems to be the consensus of "we're all in this together". Whether the banks and corporate investors go along with this, waits to be seen.

Deduction from comments so far = level of insanity is closely correlated to time in self isolation!

In Singapore not many people wearing masks now, but very strict social distancing.
It is also very difficult to find decent masks now and has been for some time. I don't understand why people would queue up in crowded situations although I guess some people have to.
I use small shops and work out my own precautions, better to shop with half a dozen other people than a couple of hundred somewhere like Makro.

As of 2pm today they were still open and plan on being for the near future. There are shoppers but not too many , easy to keep 2m apart !!
Rimping very sparse this morning , maybe only 5-6 other shoppers in there. Personally I would rather go where there are fewer people so at the moment avoiding Makro/Big C etc.

I could log in fine this afternoon, but I only wanted to check my balance. There was a transfer that came into my account this morning, no problem.

Eh yes they are doing a far better job in Germany. Far lower death ratio to cases. I guess their healthcare hasnt been stripped like in the UK.
Sobering to see the difference between Germany and the UK. Far more cases in Germany but a far lower death rate. UK 8.077 cases 422 deaths, Germany 32.991 and 159 deaths. UK seems to do it similar to Netherlands 5.560 and 276 deaths.
Looks like Germany is doing a great job UK and Netherlands not so much.
Possibly there are more tests done in Germany, but again that shows they are doing it better then both UK and Netherlands.
Friends of mine that work in the health service in Germany are being tested for the virus every single day when they arrive at work. Doesn't seem to be like that in the UK!

2 meter spacing impossible in there
Darn sight easier than 7/11 !!
No one in 7/11 but I had to detour around the back because I didn't want to have to go through the cluster of unoccupied employees between me and the fridge. Then when paying for the item I bought she wanted me to put cash on desk and she took from desk. But , but that is useless if the cash has the virus! Just like the Buddhist temple, can't hand directly to the monk !!

I noticed they have got the tape out in places that will stay open. Banks are one of these but we will also be remaining 2 metres apart at the 7/11 ! However I did notice their tape strips looked somewhat less than 2 metres!
Kasem store near the day market will remain open (I just asked them).
