    UK travel insurance policies are very clear in black and white, sounds like it covered 125cc as that is the standard when riding a motorcycle is covered, the engine size she rented was higher hence claim denied, quite clear to me. Ignorance is not an excuse, she should have skim read the policy doc then checked the bike cc

    The article said the reason for claim denial is because of the class of scooter/motorbike, not because of no driving licence although that is often another reason for denial

    "insurance saying they rejected my claim due to the scooter I hired being classed as a motorbike" usually travel insurance only covers up to 125cc unless you seek out higher cover. Why don't people read the policy doc? even skim read the important parts

    Travel insurance is great value unlike health insurance, my last travel insurance was for 18 months, condition of being in UK previous 6 months

    Strange how some deaths reach the news and others don't, a few weeks ago 3 white cars racing on Hua Yai in Pattaya, they crash killing an innocent scooter rider, never made the news

    You're right there when i rode a PCX once it had a floaty armchair feeling, didn't like it at all, but there is a benefit it seems

    I pump up the tyres myself and they vary from 25 to 40 at the back depending when i bother to do it, I've not noticed any difference in smoothness. Koh Chang vs Pattaya massive difference, no potholes or bumps every 100 yards

    Agent for opening an account is about 5k including bogus insurance, if you put the 800k in ASAP then easy to do the next steps yourself, otherwise agent will still charge 20k+ probably

    Pattaya seems to have the worse roads for back pain, 20 mins of riding around and my back hurts, on koh Chang last week, no problem as the roads are much smoother. I have a Honda Click, yes i can get better shocks, still not sure they'll be good enough. Is there a scooter that's smooth even over speed bumps? I don't really want another enduro type bike or motorbike unless a last resort
